I cannot think of the words to describe my disappointment and anger at everyone surrounding this little guy right now.

When is this going to stop? Adults hurting innocent babies?

Did you hear the guy in the cowboy hat threaten her if this was released to the news media? I agree with @Mominmi above. BS needs to lay low till this gets straightened out. Such a sad situation.

Totally agree that that amount is the same as I would’ve made in the 80s babysitting and thus likely unfair (although for all I know it was a volunteer/I insist on paying situation.) I was just trying to figure out what the woman in the blue tee might’ve meant with the “providing” statements.

$30/day x 5 work days a week = The amount the GMother was asking of the daughter for "child support".

That amount makes sense now.

ETA:

I think the GMa was trying to "tough love" her daughter into working by forcing a financial responsibility on her (as a moral one clearly wasn't happening re: the kids)... and it didn't work.... so she began the eviction process.

I can’t blame BS for releasing what she has at all. This is why. Everyone now heard the threats so if something happens everyone knows who did it.

Qs mom also tried to point fingers that BS took him. So releasing her statement quickly showed where she stood in all this.

My thing is everyone came over to neighbors all big and bad, where was this energy when that baby was being abused? Not to mention this all went down in front of what looks like to be her youngest grandchild.

As much as this points to Quinton's disapperance as beng domestic in nature, I imagine the LEOs are having to consider all options besides 'family violence' and 'kid walked off'. I'm thinking of Jeremy Guillory, here. The search went for days, and he was deceased in the bedroom closet of his killer, a short distance from his home. I know it's awful to think of, but if the kid was seen and known to wander unaccompanied, he would have been very vulnerable to a predator snatching him opportunistically. If Quinton could get out alone, the perp wouldn't have had to enter the home at all. I don't know how likely it is, because I have no idea what evidence they've found, but I expect anyone with any kind of crime against children in the area is being examined very closely, even though the media focus is firmly on the family right now.

Sorry I might have worded that wrong. That is what I was getting at. It's her house and her daughter I dont understand why she would have to go through courts to get them to leave. Which is why I was wondering if maybe they were simply asked to leave first and refused.
Exactly that, if someone has been living with you and you want them to leave and they do not want to go or will not go you have to formally evict.

ADMIN REMINDER:

Excerpt from The Rules: Etiquette & Information

NOTE: Websleuths does not condone members becoming personally involved in cases by initiating contact with family members, case players, law enforcement, or the media. This does not preclude responding to a request for volunteers, or utilizing proper channels to report valid information, i.e., "a tip", to law enforcement.

If you submit a tip to law enforcement, do NOT announce it or discuss it in any way on the threads. Doing so has the potential to undermine an investigation.

Could you clarify your last two sentences?

1) Who is "everyone"? Who are the "neighbors"?

2) Who is "her" - the grandmother? Who is the youngest grandchild - the baby girl?

Sorry to be dense. I am trying to understand but must be missing context or something because I am confused.
TIA

There was also the Cash Gernon case which had similarities although quickly found deceased. Also had an unstable home life with parent (father) with criminal record who actually took off and left his kids with girlfriend. I think there were also custody issues with mother. Girlfriend slept late and boy was taken in the early morning. No one looked good and accusations flew.
While abduction is possible in Qs case, I don’t think it likely. JMO

So many cases like this, the child just "disappeared". No clues, no resolution. I have often wondered about cases like this. Does LEO "know" what happened to the child, but there isn't enough evidence for charges? We don't know.

I hope that this little guy is found.

I think the support amount was $150/month rather than per week but I get your point about going through the courts to try to make mother responsible. Also, missed child support would probably be a record supporting mother’s irresponsibility if she were ever to try to regain custody of her kids. JMO.

Yeah, I don't really think it's the likely cause, but it's something that hasn't really been explored on here, mainly because of the circus of the media focussing on the family. I know kids have been taken by opportunists before when supervision has been lax and the family disorganised, for whatever reason. Whether this is domestic, accidental or abduction, it's come about because of the circumstances leading up to Quinton vanishing. Towards zero, as the phrase goes.

Wow, in that video linked above, Quinton's grandma and the babysitter really go at it. It's disturbing to say the least. I think it's also very telling that the babysitter said she had indeed called CPS in the past as had other neighbors.

I was a little surprised. And then started wondering - say that the pool was damaged during the draining process by the fire department or law enforcement.. do they repair things in those situations? I would think so but I don't know.

Babysitter needs to call LE and tell them where she will be and then go stay with a friend or family across town or something! I understand the stress of a grandmother who loves her grandchild but watching that video makes me feel like the situation there is out of control and no longer safe. There may be other stressful situations that are going on concurrently with QS family… not sleuthing family, just saying these horrible things like kidnapping or violence against children don’t happen in a vacuum.

and someone above asked who the man in the cowboy hat at end of video was… to me looks like the step grandfather, maybe.
I thought so as well, but was looking for a second opinion (thank you).

Couldn't agree more with your assessment of the situation.

It does make me wonder, however, if what we're seeing around a lot of these more recent cases is similar to what has ALWAYS happened around some of them, but the world just didn't have a front row seat. The enormous difference, of course, is the existence of technology and SM, which hasn't always been around.

IMO:
Grandma/grandpa may not be receiving funds from the state to pay for childcare. Oftentimes in-home sitters are paid in cash and goes unreported as income. Maybe grandma felt she was “helping” the sitter. I hope social media posts are not interfering with the investigation.

I guess it would depend on the type of liner they have and if it was damaged. I can’t see LE paying for any repairs though, to be honest.

However, if they have a vinyl liner instead of concrete, then she should know that the pool would need water immediately after draining to keep the liner from shrinking. I can’t imagine what other damage would be done from just pumping out the water?

Seems she made an odd request. JMO.
