I wonder.. if she/they were even smart or quick enough in their thinking to conduct a 'diversion'. Anything's possible though. What an enormous and unnecessary expense (both financially and emotionally/mentally) LE and the searchers have incurred if, in-fact, little Q is not in that landfill. I hope that they find something to charge her with regardless of whether or not he is--and that the egg donor has to pay back every single penny for the search of that landfill. The "family" surely didn't spend one dime of their own $ to search for him, ever. Nor did I notice them do so or read about them doing so, nor see any pleas to the public for his return. They know full well where little Q is. smh MOO

Everyone is considered innocent until proved guilty. How can you be sure that she is guilty since the boyfriend was actually said to be the last one to see him. We have LE initial statement that LS is their only suspect, but we need to hear factual proof before charging her with something. And no, we shouldn't make anyone pay for an investigation. JMO

Everyone is considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law, but the same is not true outside the court of law.

She's a person of interest, and so yeah, I can say i think she's guilty of murder, negligence, taking illegal drugs and being an all around nasty human to have unfortunately had the exquisite opportunity to raise that poor little Q.

As Tippy pointed out, innocent until proven guilty has to do with how a suspect is treated within the court system. I can think of a few people who I still don't have to consider "innocent", albeit not found guilty in court.

Even after a person is not convicted due to reasonable doubt, they are considered by that same court system to be "not guilty". IE different from "innocent". IMO

I doubt the Wilmington search is related. (My first response when I read an article on this was of this case, however) Savannah to Wilmington is about 4 1/2 - 5 hours. For this to be related, the boyfriend would have had to make a 9-10 hour round trip and be back by 9 AM. Doable but unlikely.

In this part of the country, most land east of I-95 is low lying land or swamp. Much better hiding places.
Wilmington is east of I-95. You can drive Hwy 17 north from Savannah to Hwy 421 at Wilmington, NC straight to Dunn. By the way, the New Hanover County landfill is located on Hwy 421.
Not the fastest route by any means but I did drive hwy 17 north from Savannah a few months ago while driving back from St. Augustine. I wanted to check out the hunting lodge for the Murdaugh case.

Apologies if it’s been mentioned, but sometimes people will play Disney music so things cannot be reposted due to the music copyright. I’ve seen people do it toward “gotcha” figures who come to college campuses, do street interview etc to bait people into saying things. It essentially doesn’t allow the filmers to profit off the interaction.

ETA: ninja’ed by other posters!!

I had no clue until someone upthread said it also. I know music copyright is a big thing, but didn't realise people used Disney music for this purpose.

See, you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Exactly right.

To wit:
-----------------
What's the difference between "innocent" and "not guilty"?
In short, "not guilty" is not the same as "innocent." Innocent means that a person did not commit the crime. Not guilty means that the prosecution could not prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" that a person committed the crime. Therefore, the court does not pronounce someone as “innocent” but rather “not guilty”.

Right! Am I guilty when I run the red light or not until 6 months later in court?

You are guilty you confess you are guilty or are found guilty in court. The light may have been stuck on red, you may have had a malfunction in your car, you may have had an emergency, the light might not have been red yet, another vehicle may have pushed you through, you may have been avoiding hitting someone ...

Everyone deserves to have their case tried in court.

BBM....You are guilty you confess you are guilty .... some people never accept their responsibility, in fact that seems to be currently trending, everybody is a "Victim"

As to a fair trial, of course they are entitled , I have no problem with your comment, BUT if none of your suggested scenarios happened other than I flat out ran a red light while speeding, when am I guilty? 6 months later????

Well Leilani did say if she’s found to be at fault, “I will take myself to that police station.”

So I'm confident when LE announces their factual proof, the only suspect in Quinton's death will be charged with murder. Heck Leilani might be so cooperative, they may not even handcuff her :)

WS is a crime discussion forum, hypothesizing (to give a possible but not yet proved explanation for something) is what we do here, lol.

Does anyone know if they are searching the landfill this week too?

Just wondering if LS might've been seen before at Azalea Mobile Home Plaza (and who the other three people might've been):

"Georgia authorities and the FBI initially focused on a specific set of trailer park dumpsters in their search for Quinton Simon's remains – and police now say the likelihood of locating the boy's body is slim, Fox News Digital has learned."

[...]

"Residents told Fox News Digital that FBI agents knocked on almost every door and showed them photos of Simon, Quinton, and his grandmother Billie Jo Howell and three other people. They also asked the locals whether they had seen a particular car. The park is 2.8 miles from Simon's home."

someone in this thread speculated those dumpsters too, before the media shared that. i wonder if they focue on those because she was seen near them on cctv, but actually disposed in another place and that is why they say finding him may not happen. so sad :(

What if, and this is my speculation/pondering only, he is buried relatively close to home, and the dogs just missed it? What if a POI is on video putting large bags in a dumpster, but they were only supplies related to clean-up/burial? It would explain not wanting the babysitter to search near the home. It would explain how someone could be in denial and rationalize this away as an "accident." If they knew he was buried in the woods.

Maybe the woods could be searched again, especially when there is less foliage as the season changes. All JMO.

Is there any information out that has the BF say exactly "how he saw Quinton"? Was he awake, asleep or appear to be asleep? I would like to read something concerning a statement that he has made. JMO

So here's what I've got about that "last sighting" by MomsBfDY... (pulling from the TIMELINE)

6:00AM - LAST REPORTED SIGHTING (1) by MomsBfDY (14) when he left for work (22); MomLS told LE he was in his playpen (25@0:45)

SOURCES:
(1) CCPD FB post from 10/5 has no specific info about who last saw him.
(14) WOTC article from 10/6 simply states, "The mother’s boyfriend was last person to see Quinton around 6 a.m. on Wednesday."
(22) WSAV article from 10/7 states: "Police told us the boyfriend —who we know now is Daniel Youngkin — left for work at 6 a.m. Police say that’s the last time Quinton was seen."
(25) WJCL VIDEO from 10/9 states: "The boy's mother told investigators that he was in a playpen inside the house before he disappeared."

As far as I have heard, we have had NO statements (from approved sources) from MomsBfDY, but it was LE that told reporters he was the last to see Q.
