GUILTY GA - Quinton Simon - Missing From Home - Mom ARRESTED- Savannah #6

  • #341
state says defense, through their choice of witnesses, have tried to tell the court drugs are responsible. Lots of people take drugs but few of them kill their child and drop them in a dumpster.

Cocaine, Percocet and marijuana do not cause you to lose control and murder. None create pyschosis. the drugs are a red herring. what she did was always inside of her. Maybe the drugs lowered her inhibitions. Or acted as an accelerant. but they didn't cause Q's death. LS did.

Prosecution: Lots of people have bad upbringing, lots of people take drugs, few people end up killing their own child.

MOO: IMO drugs should not be considered a mitigating factor in sentencing. I don’t know Georgia’s laws about it. I’m pretty sure California doesn’t allow it, for example.

He was so accurate in this statement

State - there is evidence LS is incorrigible.

Want's a harsh punishment because she deserves it.

the defense attorney picking his nose is quite distracting.

ETA it was bow tie guy

Prosecutor says can’t say for sure that Leilani is beyond rehabilitation but believes the court could find it so.

State is moving through the elements of sentencing. So well presented.

The only punishment that will adequately get through to Leilani the seriousness of what she has done is the fullest sentence the law allows.

the intuition of the public who came to love Quinton is entirely correct.

Good finish IMO

Life with parole plus 10 years, consecutive?

  • #352
Judge:
Quinton impacted many individuals.
Count 1-Life w/possibility of Parole
We have some years being added concurrent with count 4 on the other counts.

  • #353
disappointing. When is the earliest she will be eligible for parole?

  • #354
Sounds like she's getting life with parole...

Lesser charges run concurrent...

So only one ten year sentence was consecutive to life with parole on the most severe charge.

I feel ill.

If i am reading correctly in Georgia, not less than 10 no more than 30.

  • #359
Judge: may there be peace somehow.

Court adjourned.

The murderess is back to looking smug after hearing this weak sentence.
