I think at this point, this has been a massive waste of everyone's time, no matter the outcome.
If nothing else this trial has gained a lot of attention. I’m hopeful some changes with the judicial system will start to develop.

The State has agreed to dismiss all of his charges except for 1, including his murder charge. He is only pleading guilty to 1 charge - RICO.

Nichols is sentenced to 20 years, with 7 to serve, as negotiated with the state.
He hugs his attorneys with a big smile as he is about to be taken into custody.

The trial began with jury selection in January 2023 but dragged on through multiple delays.

Opening statements finally began last November after several defendants had already taken plea deals while others chose to be tried separately from YoungThug.

Nichols was charged with the March 2022 murder of Shymel Drinks, but he still denies any involvement in the murder. Proecutors said they're willing to drop the murder charge because he wasn't in the vehicle that fired the fatal shots, he was in a nearby one.

@cathyrusson

Obviously they are still negotiating pleas with the remaining defendants. Public/media still in the hallway. Nothing happening in the hallway.

Lil Rod has left because of a toothache. I’m assuming they will not be holding trial without one of the defendants.

Huey went from facing 3 life sentences + ~100 years to 9 years plus AND he has 4 years credit time served. The Judge calls it “remarkable” but accepts his plea.
