Jury has been brought out. Schardt and Doug Weinstein just said they don't wish to present evidence on behalf of their case.
ADA Christian Adkins will start closing arguments for the state.
It appears Adkins and Hylton will take most of the closings on behalf of the state.
Adkins is going to talk about RICO and using social media posts.
Adkins is walking the jury through their "duty" as jurors as they reach a verdict in this case.
Adkins is not using a microphone so it might be hard for people on the stream and overflow room to hear him.
Adkins seems to be making an analogy about the length of trial and comparing it to him running a marathon.
Adkins is telling the jury what evidence they will be able to use in their deliberations.
Even with half the courtroom empty now that only two defendants remain, the media still can't see the jury so we don't know if they are paying attention to Adkins, as he reaches the 15-minute mark.
Adkins just made note of former co-defendants Antonio Sledge, Walter Murphy, Wunnie Lee, Antonio Sumlin and YSL members Kenneth Copeland, Quindarius Zachary who testified during trial.
Adkins is now focusing on bias and motive for their testimony starting with Kenneth Copeland and playing a clip in which he said "YSL for life."
Adkins just explained what party to the crime means by using an example of four people deciding to rob a bank.
He is using it to show how Stillwell and Kendrick can be considered party to the crimes alleged in the indictment.
Adkins is going to focus on the RICO charge and gang charges against Stillwell and Kendrick.
It appears Adkins microphone just went out so it will be hard to hear for a bit, but the most important part is ensuring the jury can hear him.
They just gave Adkins a new mic but doesn't seem to be working that great either.
No objections so far from defense attorneys.
"The crime is the agreement, the over acts let you know that is real," Adkins said.
Adkins says before walking the jury through the overt acts alleged in the indictment.
The state showed the jury this slide showing members of “YSL Criminal Enterprise”
Adkins has started to go through the overt acts in the indictment to show how they violated RICO.
He is skipping a lot of the overt acts.
Adkins is arguing that Christian Eppinger made sure people knew they could see he was YSL to increase notoriety while committing crimes, including a May 11, 2016 armed robbery.
Adkins is introducing Donovan Thomas’ murder as an overt act that shows the criminal enterprise but said Hylton will go into more detail.
I won’t post it here but the next slide has an autopsy picture of Thomas.
Adkins has moved on to the Jamari Holmes murder on February 23, 2019.
Rodalius Ryan is already serving a life sentence for the Holmes murder.
Adkins is now talking about Shymel Drinks murder, saying that it's similar to Donovan Thomas' murder.
"It is 100% gang related," Adkins said about the Drinks murder. "They did it for YSL. They did it to get revenge."
Adkins has reached the 1-hour mark in his closing argument.
