Kind of odd, the police are asking to speak with anyone that "knows Neuman" and they won't say why he is a suspect or what the relationship was.

I think perhaps they are trying to gather info from a rather cloistered community. Neuman does not have a prior arrest record, why would a 48 year old family man with no criminal history decide to gun down someone in a daycare parking lot? The plot thickens!

Wow. There has to be some prior relationship between the victim and the suspect. And perhaps some real or perceived conflict. This is very strange indeed.

Wow! An arrest.

My bet is a failed business deal of some kind.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Looks interesting, though.

Very bizarre. He's a handsome man, no criminal record. Are we allowed state a motive on WS if we think it involves a family member of the victim?

Wow! the composite looks just like him but with a beard. I think that was a fake beard!

I wonder if this guy had a vendetta or if he was hired by someone to kill Rusty. College tuition isn't cheap.

Anything on what led to his arrest? :waitasec:

The van could have lead them to more infomation. Or the investigation went very well leading to a motive for this guy.

I hope they do a summary for how the suspect was identifed.

Totally bizarre.

On the news this morning they made a big deal about "coming up...more details about the arrest...blah, blah, blah"

And "We've been working all night to update you on this story!"

But in the end, it was a rehash of the same stuff. LE not commenting on motive or connection between the men.

Rusty's brother did not know of any connection, doesn't know this guy.

No comment on how they found him or decided that he did it, but they are pretty confident that they have arrested the right guy and aren't looking for others.

He's being held without bond in the Dekalb County Jail.

On another note, this is a BIG deal for the Dunwoody police dept. Dunwoody (and others) become it's own city a few years ago after being unincorporated Dekalb County forever. It's been a huge debate, and part of the motivation was some of these small suburban areas getting less money and attention than the more urban areas, although they pay a big chunk of the bill. Critics suggested that the small police dept's wouldn't be able to afford to do a very good job. This is HUGE that this pretty new dept. may have solved a major, high-profile homicide in fairly short order. WTG!

This article has just a tiny bit more than the others:
"A police source has confirmed to Channel 2’s Linda Stouffer that Neuman knew the victim, Rusty Sneiderman....Police did not specify how Neuman and Sneiderman knew each other, but said their relationship was personal in nature."

I know quite a few people who work with the suspect and the victim's wife.

"The East Cobb father accused of gunning down a Dunwoody businessman outside a day care center requested a public defender during his first court appearance Wednesday.

Meanwhile, police said they haven't ruled out the possibility of another suspect emerging in the case."

uh oh. I sincerely hope it is not the wife. Those poor kids!

Another Atlanta news website says he is the wife's boss...

Neuman was engineering manager Andrea Sneiderman's supervisor at GE Energy and though they worked across the street from each other in the Wildwood Parkway office complex off Powers Ferry Road, they had met often, according to the company.

So was she crying on her bosses shoulder about her husband? Or.....

If she was having an affair with her boss and she disclosed that to the police it wouldn't have taken this long to identify him as a suspect. If she did NOT disclose it then hmmmmm.

UBM

That's certainly my main theory.

That's been my theory all along (and I assume LE's). There's not too many things out there besides lust/love/romance that would lead one to murder another person (assuming they're all law abiding citizens, not the mob, in a gang, doing drugs, etc.).

He was indeed her supervisor at one point, perhaps even at the time the crime occurred. Interesting to me that he has requested a public defender. Presumably, at his level at GE, he would be better situated than many to hire private counsel.

It seems totally bizarre for a father of three to murder another father as he was dropping his kids off at day care.....but then again, murder is often bizarre.
