Clegg: May we approach?

Judge: Oh sure, come on up lawyers, come on up!

He cracks me up the way he always calls them "lawyers".

Can I just ask one question that has been on my mind?

Is that lady with the thing over mouth the court reporter? And what exactly is that thing and what is she doing with it? Is she talking into it?

It is a stenomask to electronically record everything said

I read last night that this delightful judge gives tough sentences. I wish, like you, I knew more about the possible sentences. The TH yesterday said the jurors can find unanimously for only some of the counts, and she would serve time for just the counts they found her guilty of.
But then he mentioned a mistrial, too. So I'm confused. Wish we had an attorney on this thread.

I think they can unanimously find her guilty of some counts but not guilty of others. But if there is a count or counts they cannot agree on, it would be a mistrial. That would be my guess!

Thanks I have never seen one before! So does she have to vocally record who is the one speaking?

I had a thing at 11 yr olds school today and missed the rest of closing by the defense and all of the closing by the state. Is it worth watching the rest of defense closing? It seems that it would definitely be worth watching the state's closing, yes?

One lingering question. Why didn't state mention the guy AS sent a text to saying Rusty was shot? I would think that hard evidence would even trump Mr.S's testimony.

Does anyone know if we can sign up for a verdict text alert somewhere? TIA. :)

It is a mistrial just on those counts.

Lets say they say guilty on counts 1-5
Not guilty on counts 6-10
Hung on 11-13
The ones they decide on guilt the judge will sentence. The ones that are not guilty cannot be retried. The DA can recharge on the counts that the jury hung on.

Hope it is guilty on all. Imo

Oh yes well worth the time. My favorite line, "In America it is against the law to lie to the police."

Am I the only one that's never seen a stenomask before???
