I am so behind in everything. I think everyone is aware that I closed on Aug.7 so between moving and not having cable for a couple of days I'm so behind. So I have a few questions. I thought I heard that the murder charges were dropped against her, is that correct? What is the most time she will serve? I'm glad she was found guilty. Was it 9 of 13 charges she was found guilty on? Sorry for all the questions but, I'm still hanging curtains and really don't have the time to go back and read. It's only been a couple of weeks I've been out of touch but it feels like months.

The defense attorneys also asked the judge to grant Sneiderman first-offender status, under which if she successfully completed the terms of her sentence the court would discharge the case without conviction and the charge would be removed from her official criminal history. Def has already filed an appeal, but IMO, it is laughable.
1. Jury got it wrong.
2. realtor should not have been able to testify (even though she testified to the same during HN's trial).
3. Jury should have been able to hear the "scream" tape of AS being told LE had made an arrest. However, she fails to ask "WHO" they have arrested, and the scream in tape wasn't a scream.
4. They want AS out while she waits for appeal.

Lots of tough talk with no stick imo.

PS. State had asked for 20 years. If you have time to listen to only a small section of the trial, I suggest the state's closing argument which was brilliant.

Hi All,

This is my first post, not sure if many will agree with it from what I read here, but I like all of you have been following this case closely and are amazed at the hatred that has been conjured by some for Andrea.

I'm not saying that everyone here who believes her guilty of any of the things she has been accused of hate her, but that seems to be gist of many of the messages of those who wished to see her convicted.

In the end despite the conviction, I consider this a victory for Andrea as she has been able to keep her honor of not having to admit to an affair of which there is clearly is no evidence to prove had occurred, let alone any evidence in the murder of Rusty.

My take is that was a classic stereotypical case of a supervisor trying to intimidate, harass and cajol an employee into entering into an intimate relationship. Hemy being someone who would not give up in his hope that Andrea would somehow end a meaningful and fulfilling marriage and enter into a relationship with a clearly mentally challenged individual.

What could Andrea Sneiderman do except to walk a tightrope of trying not to insult Hemy Neuman but at the same time not encouraging him. From walking that tightrope we end up with some strange sounding responses and actions from Andea to Hemy that the prosecution has unfortunately used to their advantage to get a conviction.

Not only though, trying to avoid insulting Hemy Neuman, but at the same time trying to respond to his advances in a way that he would continue to like her enough to not hold it against her in any job performance evaluation at GE, a job that she wanted for her own fulfillment and needed to help support her family.

What surprises me the most though, is that this forum being visited by so many women that this controlling and dysfunctional relationship between Andrea and Hemy is not recognized as the reason for so much of the behavior of Andrea.Thanks

Hi, I'm really glad you spoke your thoughts. But I disagree, especially with the last paragraph. We do get the REALITY precisely BECAUSE we are women. We know Rusty had a nice salary, lake house and all, and PROVIDED FOR HIS WIFE ANDREA for many, many years. I get that Andrea wanted to go back to work for reasons not necessarily monetary, such as self-fulfillment, etc., but there was no reason she felt the need to let the relationship go as far as it did with Hemy, for the sole reason of pursuing her career. It's not like she was some single mom who had to single-handedly raise her two kids with no support! Precisely because we are women, we understand the truth of the matter.

It does not make a difference why she wanted her job. No one would say that of a man. She had the job, earned it and should have had to give it up because of her boss.

Why does she have to be penalized because he was crossing lines. Are we really going back there? I am not a feminist but this thinking to me is scary. I mean the woman is harassed yet she should just leave and give up her accomplishments and hard work, Her job she likes because of an over zealous boss?

I was on vacation last week so didn't get to see the sentencing (although I did sign in to see the re-play of the verdict!). So just watched it now, reason for my late comments.

I too, like many others, was sickened by the parade of her friends showing her support. I can understand family, like her dad, although his attempt at showing any compassion for the Sneiderman family was feigned at best. But the friends...I agree they are completely brainwashed by her. I am just so fascinated by them...it's like I can't tell if they're acting, or are they really like that in real life?? I guess I just don't understand...my husband and my "good" friends we see sometimes every couple of months...everyone is busy with their careers and kids. If one of our "couple friends" wives was somehow implicated in the murder of her husband, I would not go up on the stand pretending to know everything about their marriage! Don't these people realize that there are many, many couples who put on fronts for people?? Have they not heard of "behind closed doors....". Especially in a community where, apparently, everyone was in each other's business. And maybe not the couple, maybe just ONE PERSON might be able to put on a front in front of other peole (Andrea). I admire that it was/is a close-knit community, and apparently their friendships with their neighbors meant a great deal to them....but for everyone to be up there crying, including the husbands, is just surreal. If it was my husband, he would honestly probably tell me to not associate with anyone involved in the whole thing anymore, much less go up there and defend them.

Hi all! First post. Anywho, I don't understand how AS got moved to prison so quickly, especially out of Dekalb County!? Being (long ago) through the crappy Georgia penal system I can tell u this, it takes FOREVER to get "on down the road", or shipped off to prison. Also, Metro State Prison is our diagnostics, or intake, prison for women, so I can't for the life of me, figure how she bypassed that 30-45 day process. I have a feeling there are things going on behind the scenes. Also, Alto is a nasty hot swampy mosquito ridden place to serve time. Dekalb County Jail is like the Ritz Carlton of jails. They just got new carpet and they have plush furniture to sit on, and you can even still smoke ciggerettes there. I have a feeling she will be out quickly.

I read some articles - it used to be male/female, and is now just female? Is that right?

Mosquitos are so bad, I haven't been able to weed my garden! Anywho, yes, Arrendale Prison is minimum security, but still. Every inmate that comes into the prison system MUST go through the intake process, or diagnostics. This includes a battery of testing, from blood tests to basic learning tests, even spelling tests. Remember, a person isn't going to be sent into the system if they have TB, so there has to be a central place to house and administer tests, hence Metro. Metro is also the medical prison and max security. It houses everything from the preggos to the only female on death row. The diagnostics are housed separate and they stand out by having to wear white jumpsuits, as opposed to a brown uniform. Also, if you are on serious mental health drugs or an invalid, you also would do your time at Metro. It is the hardest prison with zero amenities. Also in diagnostics, she would give them her work history so they could see where she would most likely fit into a detail, or job. (I trained service dogs. Mine was a black lab named Gilligan. He was my only peice of mind in there ) So this is why I'm curious as to why she bypassed diagnostics. They make you march everywhere in diagnostics, too. Fun fun. As far as men and women occupying the se facility, they may share grounds, but they never come close to one another.

Ohh....Ritz Carlton of jails....that is NOT what I wanna hear. Oh my.

The reason for the fast ship-out could be b/c she was under house arrest for almost a year...that's probably the reason. So they are basically saying she has already served a year....which I don't get b/c house arrest is not the same as prison, but whatever. Hopefully no shady stuff going on.

Jailbird, your description of the prison just makes me glad she's in prison at all, whatever that may be like. I feel certain she will suffer whichever place she's in. No more granite countertops, no more spacious house, no more big lawn, no more nice furniture, no more nice clothes, no more Starbucks or restaurants, NO MORE LAKE HOUSE FOR RELAXATION, no more trips to London and other places, no more planes, no more hotels, no more wine, no more car, no more get-togethers with friends, no more Yom Kippur's with friends and family, etc., etc.. Ohhhh, from high up the fall is GREATER, makes me happy happy happy!!

I searched and searched, but I can only find one part of it...the first part that lasts 21:07 min.. I have no idea where the second part is (one where she has that pink/purple scarf around her)...did that part not get on video or something? I only saw some snippets of it which were played during Andrea's trial.
