GUILTY GA - Sam Poss, 18, Perry, 15 Oct 2016 *Arrests*

  • #121
The mics were still on after press conference and a reporter asked the deputy what exactly the family said about why they didn't want press contacting them and the answer was that they were extremely upset and "agitated"--the press released the news of Sam's death before they had time to contact their extended family members and tell them. :(

Oh my :( That must have been awful. No wonder they don't want press contacting them then. How sad, got to get the story in first even if it means devastating parts of a family through the media :(

I really thought Sam would have been found alive. So sad. May his loved ones be embraced with peace.

My guess is LE found inconsistencies in the friend's story and he fessed up when they pressured him and led them to Sam's body (or told them where to find it) and named the second individual involved. Good job LE!

If Sam had not left his cell phone at home and the police had not been able to read that text then I don't think that the arrests would have been made.

I wonder why Sam left his phone at home. Maybe he did have apprehensions about going to that house. We will never know.

I have a strong feeling that the people at that house did not know that the police would find out that Sam headed over there.

This is just my opinion. Thank goodness that Sam left his phone at home. I think that is what led the police to that house.

What in the world could the motive here have been??

Yes, maybe they thought his phone was on his person/lost it as opposed to it being at home?

I've got to step away for a bit. Too emotional. Marking my spot for when I come back.

RIP Sam. There will be justice for your murder.

I keep coming back to this thread because of all of the caring, kindness and compassion everyone shared in the hopes of a different outcome.

Just want to say that you are all so very kind and greatly compassionate and it was my privilege to be part of this thread. I still cannot believe the outcome and I share in
the deep sadness that you all feel right now.

Sending prayers to Sam's family. Also sending prayers to the law enforcement who never gave up and who certainly were hoping for a different outcome as well.

^^ I second that zencompass. Love across the miles to all feeling the pain at the outcome of Sam's fate.

Oh this is awful. I was sure he was just off being Sam and enjoying life. Why would his "friends" want to hurt him let alone kill him? Was it premeditated? Heat of the moment? Ugh.

I know about the press wanting to get the story out before time for notifications. Our family was lucky when my cousin's body was found. We were all together since we had been searching for her.

I am sorry for your loss, Tssieme. What a trying time for your family it must have been.

I would be interested to know how long Sam knew these 'friends.' Are they life long ones his parents were familiar with? Or just new ones they didn't really know and Sam had not long met.

I have a suspicion it may have involved drugs/robbery. I just hope it was over quick and he didn't suffer.

I wonder if he wasn't somehow coaxed out of his house? That would explain no phone, bare feet. I wonder if the "texting" was along the lines of "hey, come outside"...

It makes me mad and upset that the person the LE got the story from knew a long where he was and what happened and made his family suffer.
