Get some exercise? At 1:30am? No shoes? I'm confused here.

Just now reading up on this, I dont know them but saw his mother's 13wmaz interview where she said it was nothing new for him to be barefooted

There was a fair in town then. A crowd of local and out of town visitors to the National Fair held in Perry, Georgia, for 11 days ending yesterday (October 16th)

There would be more than the usual number of people around - possibly some people driving, walking even at that time of morning 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

I was wondering who would be hinding out in the woods that might be some crazed killer, that's werid but if you look at the map, notice there is nothing but a lot of land from the fair at 401 larry walker pkwy perry ga ad to the right of that location is where frank satterfield and tucker rd is located across from big indian creek, myabe the creek the LE was referring to searching, not sure, there is a few ponds closer to the roads he may have traveled, Interesting thought about the fair being in town that week.................On the other hand they are NOT CERTAIN that he took the dirt road, Tucker is along stretch of raod that party goers may have traveled after the fair, maybe he even go hit by a car and who knows what foul play............so sad

obviously its hard to say because of the limited information we have but imo it is still quite likely that (unfortunately) he is in those woods. we have seen this kind of thing happen before. if i were family i would continue organizing searches while also pursuing other possible scenarios.

I completely agree!

I just got into this case as I've been away from WS the past week or so. I have so many questions that could be easily answered. I really want to know who saw him leave his friend's house. I am not doubting the friend in any way. Just would be an easy question to answer.

My two cents. When I was this age I liked to party especially with my best friend. We didn't have cell phones or computers so no texts but if I'd wanted to go to her house to do any number of deviant things like drink or smoke weed, I wouldn't have needed the elaborate context of going over to fix a computer etc. if it was midnight and I was questioned (which I wouldn't have been because in spite of my wicked partying ways I was also in college with excellent grades and I worked so I was given some air of credibility), I might have said oh she just broke up w her boyfriend and doesn't want to be alone. Didn't need a code.

But if we'd done a little partying and I decided to walk home barefoot through the woods, and then disappeared, my bff would have spilled her guts to any and all in an effort to find me, personal liability be damned. I mean IF that is even the scenario here.

Guess I'm just saying it doesn't have to be something more nefarious than fixing a friend's computer and walking home. In this world, sadly, that's enough risk.

Praying Sam is found safe. MOO

i saw his brother in an interview say it wasnt strange for him to leave the house barefoot, but i dont know the answer for sure.

i also saw something on my tablet earlier and now i cant find it, it was definitely MSM and they said the possible sighting has been ruled out - they have identified who that was. it also said they will be searching a creek tomorrow.

ok found the link - http://www.13wmaz.com/news/local/samuel-poss-still-missing/337651731

There has to be more to this story of when he was last seen. It's possible he went to his friend's house at midnight and left at 1:30am...but I ain't buying the computer story.

I'm thinking of the Australian backpacker who tried a drug in Brazil and ended up having a bad reaction. I'm hoping we aren't facing something similar here, with Sam out wandering somewhere.

Oh my, THIS WAS our discussion earlier today, he's probably there, how many other searches turned up the missing only mere feet from where eveyerone was searching. It's eery if he's there, WHAT happened? WHO was lurking in those woods. Praying he turns up unharmed of course and for the family as they wait.

I do worry a bit about the FAIR and who it brought to town. There is always a question about some of the 'carnival' workers who travel around and set up the rides and attractions at fairs etc. The stereotype is that a lot of people running from the law like to take those jobs....

Yes definitely, it seems to add a whole new branch onto this case.

Is the fair still there or has it moved on to a new town? I wonder if he could have run off with the fair or met someone from the fair and gone with them? I'm usually the first to think foul play but for some reason I want to believe Sam is alive somewhere and decided to go on an adventure.

I don't know if I am just going mad but I think I read somewhere upwards ^^ that it ended and moved on 16th? I would quote but I cannot find it now.

Found the post and quoted it. Thanks, kpetova!
Well if he went with the fair or someone from the fair harmed him, they are far away by now.

In thinking about if Sam could have run away, I was trying to find what he was currently doing since graduating high school and what his goals were for the future. I found this quote by his mom:

Samuel’s Mother Nicole Poss said, Nicole Poss said, “He would never worry his family he is responsible. He’s going into the Navy he’s excited about going into the Navy, like I said he would never worry us ever.”
http://www.41nbc.com/2016/10/17/search-underway-missing-teen-perry/

1. I feel so bad for his mom. This is what parents of many run away teens say and believe. Sam may not be a runaway, but I have seen plenty of cases where parents said their child would never do this to them--only to find out their child ran away. There was one recently where the girl turned out to be hiding in the woods for 2 days with another teen boy--her mom was sure she had been abducted or killed and went through a living hell searching, worrying (and dealing with internet trolls on fb). Teens don't always think through how their actions will hurt their family. But if Sam did run away he can come back and be restored to relationship with his family. I feel like this is still a possibility because there is no evidence of foul play in Sam's case.

2. Sam was going into the Navy. I know a lot of teens choose the military because that is all they ever wanted to do. But I also know a lot also choose it because they had no better options for employment/college or they were pressured into it by family--to carry on the family legacy of serving. It's a noble calling, but not right for everyone. Maybe Sam wasn't as excited about the Navy as his mom believed? I wonder if he had signed his contact yet? When was he set to go to boot camp (or whatever the Navy equivalent is)? Maybe he changed his mind about the Navy?

:tantrum: :(
From that link:
The body was found overnight and Perry police officers were posted to guard the area, Galpin said. He said investigators had been waiting for daylight to investigate the scene.

He declined to release the scene location, noting that Perry police have called a news conference at 10 a.m.
