It is not my impression that this man has been eliminated. Do you have a link for that? Not being argumentative, but seriously wondering where that is coming from?

isnt that interesting, while we all were still wondering who it might be........ SS had already cleared him while still saying he was a suspect in the last podcast, (2017?) and STILL we know NOT WHO IT WAS.......
I remember that discussion on the lake side, dont recall what eveyrone concluded. I only remember "man on the lawn"
but yeah I guess mute now.............

In May 2015, it came out that a mystery man was spotted on the Dermonds’ property around the time of their murders.
Sills interviewed him, but no arrest was made.

Remember two guys refused polygraphs. I believe the guy on the lawn was one of them.

At a lake the front of the house is facing the lake. In that vein I believe the front yard would be facing the lake also.

I wonder how a guy seen on the lawn on Saturday can refuse a polygraph if he's considered a suspect and seems LOGICAL he would be a suspect or POI ! That should be enough to get a warrant or whatever is needed to force a polygraph?? OR since they arent allowed in court, can that even be forced!?
I still wonder who this guy was that was never discussed further by SS once he was questioned and released.......was not a big news story, you'd think it would be!.....but ..makes sense he wouldnt take a poly.....
Im sure they know who did it, just need some damning proof

This is transcribed (by me) from the 'Sword' series of interviews with SS (link below).
This was published in June 2017, so 3 years after the murders - it seems that 3 years later he had still not yet identified this mystery man. This is why I am asking where the info came from that he has not only been since identified, but also already cleared?:
Sworn: After having *multiple* experts throughout the world weigh in on the conditions of the lake, the water’s current, hydrologists - they determined that her body could not have floated downstream for 5 ½ or 6 miles, so this means that whoever disposed of Mrs. Dermond’s body - they did so by way of a boat. We’re coming up on a manned guard house. <guard greets Sheriff Sills> Even though Sheriff Sills is left with few leads in this case, there is *one* viable piece of information that he *had* been holding back from the public for awhile – an eyewitness account. Do you think who they saw is involved in this?
SS: I do.
Sworn: That was in broad daylight.
SS: I do.
Sworn: A neighbor happened to see a white male walking around the Dermonds’ property during the day on Saturday. And that was the day that the Dermonds were likely murdered.
SS: Given the publicity that surrounded this case, anyone who was there for a legitimate reason would’ve come forward. I mean we, we interviewed over 200 people simultaneously here one day. I brought in 20 FBI agents and how many detectives, maybe 60 detectives.
Sworn: Sheriff Sills believes that this person is, without a doubt, involved in these murders.
SS: He walked right back through there, see that white pickup truck, there’s a lawn back there, you see what I’m sayin’? And there’s a view back in the woods - you can see the Dermond house from back there.
Not clearly now, I want to stress to you, not, kinda like lookin’ here, you see this house over here? See that foliage? All right, if somebody was walking through there right now, you could see them.
Sworn: But you may not get a clear…
SS: No, the lady’s, as I said, it’s not what, it’s not what she *couldn’t* see that was important, you know, but it made me know she was tellin’ the truth.
Sworn: Do you think the key to solving this is identifying the person seen in that yard?
SS: Certainly. The key to solving this is I need somebody that knows somethin’ to give me a call. I’ll talk to *anybody*, *anywhere*, *anytime*, about this killing. You’ve got two, two or more people out here in my opinion, that committed a heinous crime. And by *god*, they need to be caught, and they need to be punished.

I wish we had someone to ask SS to give a current, defining answer about the lawn guy. (A recorded answer - so we know he's been ruled out or is still an unknown). ETA Maybe The Sword answers this!
Also, this prison chatter... Hmmm that could be interesting. Was it an off-hand comment or maybe SS was making a point? Do you remember which interview, jonnyrock? Not suggesting it's not true... I just can't remember it.

This is why I went searching for words directly out of the mouth of SS, rather than MSM articles, since we can't be sure whether SS actually said that, or if something got confused between SS saying something and the reporter writing it differently. I transcribed some of his interviews, and pretty much don't pay a lot of attention to articles that say he said something, unless he is directly quoted with quote marks. (Even then I suppose there is room for error, but hopefully a lot less error, and hopefully if it was said wrong, SS would let the reporter know?)
I have said before that I believe SS speaks in a way which CAN (presumably intentionally) make it confusing, and keep people not really knowing what's going on. There was talk at one point about a cement/concrete contractor - he was interviewed; I'm wondering if he kind of intertwines subjects while he's talking and then it leads to misrepresentations and misunderstandings, which perhaps SS never asks the reporter(s) to correct in the end story. Just my impression of SS.
No problem. I tried doing a cursory search but didn't find a media link confirming this. It may have been on a video or podcast. One thing we have learned from SS is he may say something at one time and and later contradict what he said earlier.
I was able to find some posts talking about it that may jog someone's memory of when/how it was said.

for four years the public was still wondering about this man on the lawn, and now suddenly he's been interviewed (when, no one knows) and is not a suspect but we have no other information on him ..........nor do we know WHEN he was interviewed

How does he clear the man spotted on the lawn on possibly the day of the murder? Well apparently he found this person who he initially called a definite person of interest early on after it was reported and cleared him. SS for over 3 years never mentioned this person of interest again until a few months ago that seems odd when people have been asking about this witness for years. SS can't say his name for obvious reasons but he can at least tell us what that person was doing on the lawn of a house in a gated community where a murder occurred on the same day or the day after.
Further to the 'concrete/cement man' mentioned above, I found this also in the Sworn series. (Mind you, this particular portion was narrated by the Sworn journalist, and not out of SS's lips):

As it turned out, that name and number belonged to a concrete contractor. Mr. Dermond had planned on fixing a crack in their driveway, but he never got the chance to call the man. Sheriff Sills said that the concrete man *had* been interviewed and subsequently vetted, and was ruled out.

I’ve NEVER heard this stated either. Got a link or source. I don’t believe the people who did this are in prison so I’m calling false until proven otherwise. Moo

Yeah MANY contradictions by SS before.......but the article said he was interviewed and released. Couldve been a mistake by the journalist. BUt with SS wishy washy all the time, who knows

Just to clarify the "prison chatter" reference, it alludes to a part of any high profile murder/violent crime investigation wherein law enforcement keeps an open ear for any insider information from jail. This approach is nothing new and has served to help innumerable investigations. As for, "I don’t believe the people who did this are in prison so I’m calling false until proven otherwise. Moo", I do not believe the people who did this are collectively in prison either; however, any one of them could be at any time. I think it can be said without fear of contradiction that Sills has an open ear on all matters of incarceration sites (local, state, federal). If he doesn't he'd being doing a disservice to the integrity of the investigation.

Agreed, and even if 'one' of 'them' is not/never incarcerated, someone IN prison may know something, or have heard something that could ultimately lead police on the path to finding answers.

I do remember SS stating in at least one of his interviews that there has been zero coming out of the prisons, meaning nobody inside seems to have any knowledge, or be talking about it. That would make sense if it was someone who isn't from that world, but did it just this once for whatever reason, and hasn't been caught or in prison yet. An as-of-yet unlikely prison candidate.
Yes, I agree... possible prison chatter would obviously be a source of info on the case.
