Was reading this on Tara Grinstead case, made me think of the evidence in this case, IF ANY that is not being shared with the public...this information finally shared did bring more calls and leads but sadly it didnt lead them to the killer, however, many in town new in this case and never reported it!


It was after three years that Rothwell decided to make public a key piece of evidence. It was a latex glove found in Grinstead's front yard with a partial print inside.

"We felt that was guilty knowledge, something that the offender will only know," Rothwell said.

Releasing the evidence served Rothwell's purpose, generating new leads. But ultimately, it produced the same old outcome.

Did Mr Dermond have any business partners? This kind of rage is deep and possibly within the last few years before his death. I don't think this rage comes from many years ago I believe it's recent. Nothing stolen . This is about money IMO not a disagreement or a firing from years ago. Who is this relative SS is going out of state to question ? I find it odd that the cold case team SS had look at the case was from Jacksonville where one of the kids lives. Has the daughter made any statements since the murders? These are the questions I ask myself constantly

Some interesting things I found

1Keith Dermond said the murders likely happened during the day.
2 Sills says Sometime between 430pm Friday and 430pm Saturday they have nailed it down to ..
3. Nothing was stolen and there were many valuable items in the house including rolex's

The big thing is they have a 24hour timeframe which is probably accurate . Now i'm not sure what day the person was seen on the lawn but that can narrow it down too

It seems that there are more and more decapitation deaths in the news and even here on WS. I don't know if it because of the shock value or related to a movie or video game phenomenon or gang initiation or just a sick/angry mind.

I have my own theory. Nothing was taken. I don't think there was forced entry. Somebody was REALLY mad at them. I'm drawing my conclusion from that but not saying on here because I could be 100% wrong. Nothing damaged in the home either.

People on here have looked at so many possible crimes that may be connected to the D's but THIS....THIS ONE is EXACT from not showing up when supposed to,head decapitated, head MISSING, walking on the grounds every day, no valuables missing.............I DONT KNOW WHY this one has bee overlooked for so long........maybe becuase it was Cali? I know many investigated nearby similar crimes...........Was this guy originally from NJ per chance? I dont know maybe we're too busy following the evidence (meaning looking for some meaning in the crime and it may be simply a serial killer) and looking around town and for family connections........clearly this killer is long gone from the D's... a drifter?? still so many questions................would like to see was SS has to say about this one, would love to know more on this too .....good find Hockey guy!!! Keep us updated!

Hockeyguy.....I think due to the door being unlocked KD speculates it happened during the day....brave souls/soul...........but the boat think probalby happened at night.......so maybe fri afternoon into the night? Yeah can't remember when the guy on the lawn was seen, for some reason I've always thought saturday.

unless it was russell dermond on the law sometime Friday.......the last articles i posted said the person couldnt tell if it was RD due to the shrubs,
but not sure how they know it was a man..........Foxfire had said that if they knew it was a man, they likely could see a good bit of the person....so thinking the witness just glanced adn went about their business.......whoda thunk someone would be murdered there that evening or the next and that yo should have paid attention to who was on the lawn.............so close yet so far...........is still wonder if they could tell if he was gray haired black or red haired?
Ithink you can spot silver hair easily, and from some of the boat images facing the lakeside of the house, it's a pretty clear view,
and I think that HAD to be someone on the water side that witnessed it, too many trees bfore the culdesac and neighbors house..............so with that..........if the assumed it was RD, he was probably gray haired.......JMOO

SS knows exactly how many people were there and I'm sure he has a more narrow timeline of when it happened other than the 24 hour window he's telling us. Body temperature after 24 hours is a tougher science but under 24 hours they can almost be exact on the time or at least within an hour. He says he has evidence but yet says he needs someone to come forward which means he knows who did it but the evidence can be contested which means the finger prints or dna is a partial match to a relative and he won't win a conviction on that as it can easily be contested in court and reasonable doubt is very possible.
He constantly says he has all forms of evidence and I'm sure the DA told him it would be easily challenged in court. I'm sure that cold case team in Florida wasn't a coincidence . Who gained from this? Nothing of value stolen , home worth $700,000, bank account and retirement money probably worth just as much, then you have life insurance which I'm positive they had a very good policy. Beheading is rage and the way this happened it was someone very close to them. Maybe someone was turned down for a loan . 3 years and no plea from the family other than small statements I would be calling the state police or the governor to intervene . If that was my parents i'd be pressuring them for answers or asking for outside help but nothing has happened yet after 3 years

I agree..........this couple and no one in the family inquiring? whatever if any SS has, the dna is not in the database or he'd have the killers............definitley know who gained.........hockey? the alarm system? anything interesting found?

Maybe they are. I remember after the murders, one of the sons posted a lot. I have a feeling police told him to cool it as pictures of his kids were in the post. Not very smart, really. If they don't know who murdered the D's, don't show pics of your kids!

You lost me Dancin, I have been having so much trouble posting and such, what setting do I need and how do I change it? I know dumb questions, but no time to figure out, been working 12 - 15 hours everyday, HELP!
