This is me about Cooper's age. 1969.
My heart breaks for him.
I am just sick. How could a man do that to a child?

I would think that's standard, right? He just seemed so surprised. And with having footage of chickfila, that seemed to surprise him. I mean, have you been outside dude? Cameras everywhere.

Not an issue... it was "an accident"

Me too. I think the defense attorney was intimidated. He couldn't get him to waver. It appears to me that LE has done a fantastic job here. So happy about that, for Cooper...his justice.

I agree. But unfortunately for RH and defense atty, the counsel won't be able to get the defendant to waver at all either.... I feel sorry for the defense atty; he has his work cut out for him, IMO

I know criminal are often stupid and/or never think about getting caught, beyond the basics, but it still surprises me that this particular man would so completely ignore the traceability of his electronics in this situation. Just mind-boggling, the combination of arrogance, stupidity, carelessness, etc. But I am sure LE is grateful, as I know I am.

Unfortunately for him (fortunately for those seeking justice for Cooper) his college degree will probably play second fiddle to his personality disorder

He's an idiot. He charged $4K of money he didn't have on his cc so he could get ff miles.

Did he take the sexting pictures on the day Cooper died or were they just sent on that day?

You make some good points. He was incredibly stupid in regards to the computer/phone evidence.

I didn't need the computer/social media evidence to change my mind though it did help. Old fashion motive via the life insurance made a big difference to me.

Did they need to fly to 'Bama?

Wait, I just realized that he might have been saving those miles for their "child-free" days....

Not sure--you could check google. I did read he plays the guitar.

He was in the praise band at church. I am amazed at the amount of effort he put in to pretending to be something he just isn't.

I feel pretty sure after today that they're going to try him for murder, or at least first degree child cruelty. I didn't think so until I learned that the felony murder charge could be problematic given the new law and sentencing. If they didn't have to, no reason to. But now I think they have to.

eta: and more major props to popsicle. That new law is extremely key imo!

At the end of the hearing today, the judge said something like, "facing a life sentence with a minimum mandatory of 30 years in prison"...

Does that mean if he gets life, he can't be eligible for parole until he serves 30 years? I thought life was life in GA?

What's the new law Karmady? Did Georgia change their murder statutes?

or to flee the country looks like he might have been a flight risk after all.

If Ross had deleted the sexting photos from his cell phone, would LE have been able to retrieve them at this point, or would it take longer? I wonder if he never deleted them.

Leanna looked bored to me. She seemed completely unfazed by what was being said in the courtroom about the death of her precious baby.

She didn't look medicated, shocky or anything close to sad. Looked to me like she was composing her ''to do'' list,

I think you meant Justin/Ross not Cooper. Poor little guy wasn't sexting anyone and will never get the chance to do so thanks to his 🤬🤬🤬 father.

So true! I'm not so patiently waiting for her to get her turn.

I don't think you are going to have to wait long. ATT 6 weeks to produce the records according to what we heard today -- I am thinking that's going to speed up.

What the new law Karmady? Did Georgia change their murder statutes?

Yes. Effective July 1 there is a second degree murder charge and it applies to child cruelty. I don't remember whether it applies to first degree and/or second, though. I think second, but I've had a cocktail ;)

eta: here's popsicle's OP:

HB 271 amends Title 16, relating to crimes and offenses, so as to create the offense of murder in the second degree, and provides for penalties. A person commits the offense of murder in the second degree when, in the commission of cruelty to children in the second degree, he or she causes the death of another human being irrespective of malice. A person convicted of the offense of murder in the second degree shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than ten nor more than 30 years.

Because he was only precious to everyone else.

:(

Years ago, I has a cat named Spencer, he was motherless and I had to bottle feed him and his siblings. I kept him and his sister and my mother got the third.

He snuck out and was hit by a car right in front of my house, my neighbor knocked at my door to tell me. I ran out to the street, hugged him close and sobbed. I'm talking the snotty ugly sobbing... I didn't want to let him go or put him down. He was still warm but I knew he was gone. My neighbor pried my one hand off of him, telling me repeatedly that he was gone & I needed to let go...

That was a cat.

Btw I still have his sister she will be 22.
