To me the neighbor may seem a bit awkward but that's all. What are people seeing that is suspicious?

The whole situation has to be unsettling for all his neighbors, so to have had this interaction with him only a couple of days before, it would (IMO) be extra eerie and might make you wonder if you could've done something.

Plus, I feel like "regular" people are sometimes running on adrenaline when speaking on camera, regardless. There is an air of excitement -- just not in a good way -- and they don't always choose the right tone or facial expression. I would've been super nervous. Again, JMO.

I couldn’t get the video with the husband neighbor to run so went searching for it in a different format and found an interesting news video.

This video has an officer confirming that it was a text sent asking the wife to delete his [Tim’s] number:

Maybe this is why their comments seemed off. It was a text not an in person request. And it was day of his disappearance.

Also more light on why and how the parents knew to be concerned pretty quickly:

The *reporter* says in a voiceover that it was a text, and the clip just shows the officer saying, “I can confirm that...” I’ve never heard that it was a text to the neighbors, but I did hear he texted his mom that day he went missing. Maybe she confused the two?

His dad also says in this video that he was having work and personal issues and maybe “it [the disappearance?] was a culmination of things.” Every time I hear something like that from a family member, it makes me think they suspect the same thing a lot of us do — that Tim disappeared on his own.

Not sure on the word after "Tim" but it sounds like he starts to say "hollered" and corrected mid-word to say "called" instead. Either way, it does not sound like a text message exchange from the neighbor's own words.

Yes, that could be. I don't think the neighbor is originally from Atlanta but it is easy for someone who lives in the South for a while to pick up Southern slang. I know from personal experience. If I use a Southernism with my northern family ("y'all" for example) they look at me funny. He may have subconsciously corrected wording for that reason or just out of nervousness. JMO.

It's not your fault. There has been some inaccurate or sloppy reporting in practically every case I've ever followed here. When it doubt, I try to find the original words in context.

It’s okay! (Well...not for the reporter. Huge fact error!) But it’s indicative of the problems we all keep having in this case. Information is spotty to begin with, but what little we do know is confused frequently in stories. :gaah:

I don't think it has been mentioned specifically about the food but I seem to recall the family said in an interview there was evidence the dog had been left alone in the home for 2 days by the time his parents got there (i.e. 2 days worth of dog crap on the floor is what I took them to mean but they said it in a more tactful way). The reason I asked, it would show that his absence was a planned thing, not something that 'happened' to him while he was out.

I believe Tim is alive.
I think he planned to take a long break.
There isn't an obvious active search for him.
And, he is not listed on the Atlanta PD Crime Stoppers Missing Persons page:
