Tara Grinstead Case: Bo Dukes found guilty on all charges in Wilcox County
After a four-day trial in Wilcox County Superior Court, a jury found Bo Dukes guilty for his four charges on Thursday

March 21, 2019

"ABBEVILLE, Ga. — Bo Dukes, one of the men connected to the the Tara Grinstead case, was found guilty of concealing her death and lying to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation by a jury on Thursday in Wilcox County Superior Court.

He will be sentenced at 9 a.m. Friday....

Dukes was convicted of four charges in Wilcox County: two counts of making false statements, one count of hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal and one count of concealing the death of another....

Dukes still faces charges in Ben Hill County for allegedly burning Grinstead's body on his uncle's pecan orchard, and in Houston County for allegedly sexually assaulting two women at gunpoint. ..."

This isn't surprising. I'm very glad for Tara's loved ones to finally see justice served.

Thank goodness this trial wasn't held in CA for it would have taken many months to complete.

This was pretty much a no brainer case, imo, so that is why the verdict of guilty came back quickly.

Since this #TaraGrinstead trial is not the actual murder case I fail to see why it's necessary to put Tara's family through the agony of hearing from the forensic anthropologist who collected remains

It's ridiculous that the family of #TaraGrinstead had to see this in this trial. Absolutely unnecessary to prove this level of detail. This isn't the murder trial and nobody is disputing that a murder occurred. For that matter this testimony may not be needed for the murder trial

Friday, March 22nd:
*Sentencing Hearing (re Tara’s Case) (@ 9am ET) - GA - Tara Faye Grinstead (29) (Oct. 22, 2005, Ocilla) - *Bo Dukes (32/21 @ time of crime) arrested & charged (3/3/17) with concealing a death, hindering the apprehension of a criminal & giving false statements. Released on $16,700 bond on 3/3/17 afternoon; waived right to his first hearing. Violated his bond, back in jail. Wilcox County
Dukes has not been charged with murder.
Trial started 3/18/19 & went to 3/21/19. 7 women and 5 men (including 3 alternates/1 woman & 2 men). Breakdown of the 12 jurors: 3 black females, 4 white females, 1 black male, 4 white males.

3/21/19 Day 4: State witnesses: Brooke Sheridan (Dukes’ gf). Jurors listened to the car ride audio recording of Dukes & GBI Agent Holland. Jake Dukes (Bo's bro). State rests their case. Dukes just told judge he does not plan to testify. Defense presents no witnesses. They rest their case. Closing arguments -Defense & then State. Judge gave jurors instructions. Jury started deliberations. Jury is back in the courtroom. They have asked to listen again to the audio recording (14 minutes) from June 16, 2016 between Dukes and GBI. The jury came back about 15 minutes later with a VERDICT in the Dukes' Trial: GUILTY on two counts of making false statements, one count of hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal & one count of concealing the death of another. Sentencing begins at 9 am tomorrow, 3/22.
Dukes still faces charges in Ben Hill County for allegedly burning Grinstead's body on his uncle's pecan orchard, and in Houston County for allegedly sexually assaulting two women at gunpoint.

*Ryan Alexander Duke (33/21 @ time of crime) arrested (2/23/17) & indicted (4/2017) of 2 counts of felony murder & 1 count of malice murder, aggravated assault, burglary & concealing death of another. Plead not guilty.
