#TaraGrinstead - The defense filed a motion with the GA Supreme Court appealing some pre-trial rulings. Both sides agree jury selection should NOT start Monday as was scheduled.

Tara Grinstead case: Georgia Supreme Court grants delay in murder trial
It was supposed to begin on Monday, April 1

March 28, 2019

"...Duke’s trial for the 2005 murder of Tara Grinstead was slated to begin April 1, but his defense filed an emergency motion earlier this week to the state’s high court for a delay.

The court will hear oral arguments for why Duke’s defense thinks the state should fund defense experts and an investigator.

Those oral arguments are scheduled for Tuesday, May 7...."

Thanks YESorNO for the updates!

So - next for Ryan is May 7th. I guess just the attorneys appear before the Supreme Court? or will he be there too?

And what's happening with Bo's 3/27 hearing in Ben Hill County? Any news on that?

TIA! :)

I haven't followed this as close as I once was, so i'll need some help. What makes you think the roles were reversed? I have sort of thought that they were just perhaps equal participants. I mean, probably only one of them actually killed her, but that is irrelevant in my opinion, each would be equally guilty.
One man, BD, has a history of physical violence and assaults. The other has no history except heavy drug and alcohol abuse...with reported blackouts. I doubt he could remember what he did...or didn't do.

Is this for his trial for Tara? So, no hearing on 3/27?
Can anyone get into GA court sites? He's got a few charges against him in a few other counties.
The rape plus in Houston County
It looks like it. This is what the article says in part:

“According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, he reported Tuesday at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification State Prison in Jackson to start his 25-year sentence.”

“Dukes was convicted of four charges in Wilcox County: two counts of making false statements, one count of hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal and one count of concealing the death of another.

Dukes still faces charges in Ben Hill County for allegedly burning Grinstead's body on his uncle's pecan orchard, and in Houston County for allegedly sexually assaulting two women at gunpoint.”

I will see if I can get into the other counties’ court websites and let you know.

Now - the one in red - is this supposed to be the charge for burning Tara's body? It seems the one in red is the same for what he just went to trial for??

I forget that you can’t access many articles. I tried searching for a case index for these remaining cases in both Ben Hill County and Houston County. Couldn’t find anything.

The charges Bo Dukes was just convicted of are the four from Wilcox County when he lied to GBI SA Jason Shoudel in June of 2016. The charges for burning Tara's body are from Ben Hill County and that trial has not taken place yet. I haven't checked the court calendars yet to see if it's coming up any time soon. Honestly, I'm afraid the Ben Hill charges may be dropped due to statute of limitations.

Thank you Stina! That's what I thought, as I had the same charges on both those counties. Got myself confused....
