GA - Twin brothers miss flight to Boston, found dead 24 hours later in Georgia mountains, 14 Mar 2025

The GBI ruled M/S soon enough that my assumption is that they had something very concrete to base this on. One wonders if the family has now been made aware of these facts and subsequent tox results, hence the lack of media presence at the moment. LE typically does not continue to update cases in which suicide has been ruled.
According to the update on the crowd funding page - as of 4/10, the family states they are waiting for "the toxicology report and the GBI is still investigating and gathering forensics".

The Final Call contacted the GBI for records on the twins’ deaths and received notice that the records are “not available because the reports and/or scientific testing is incomplete.”

The investigation into the deaths is active and ongoing. A GBI medical examiner completed the autopsies, but the official ruling is pending due to additional forensic tests, according to the news release. The bureau’s forensic division expects the reports to be available by or before late July, according to a message by the GBI’s Open Records Unit/Legal Division to The Final Call.

Thanks for the link @Miss Poovy had not seen this information previously. Wow it's gonna be a while, the poor family!
Bringing this post forward ...

How about this "subset" of murder/suicide -- what if one brother shoots the other accidentally, perhaps playing with the gun or someone jostles him just as he gets ready to shoot it too close to his twin, and then he becomes so distraught at what he's done, that he takes his own life?

Of course this says nothing about the circumstances that brought both young men to Bell Mountain, nor the origin of the gun, which we do not know whether they brought it with them, were given it by someone at Bell Mountain, or even just found it there. MOO

That seems so odd. There are other obituaries still posted on that site from around the same date, as well as older ones. So why are theirs gone? Did the family request they be removed from the website? Did the GBI request it? Were people leaving comments that led to the obituaries being removed?
I've seen it happen before, when people don't respect a family's grief and treat a death only as a conspiracy or as a puzzle to be solved, rather than a tragedy with actual human victims.

People bomb the comments with impertinent and outright cruel questions and suggestions out of a misplaced sense of entitlement to satisfy their prurient curiosity.

It's heartbreaking that it's likely happened to this family.

MOO

If I was a loved one of the deceased I am sure waiting 5 or 6 months for a toxicology report would seem like an eternity. I have read many of the articles that searchers have discovered that do provide a small glimpse into their lives. I have not read any info involving their travel from Lawrenceville to Bald Mountain other than it was apparently by their car which was parked in a lot at Bald Mountain Park. Has there been any disclosure of spotting along this trip? This is not a great distance drive of approximately 90 miles. However it does encompass several turns and changes of highways. Several of which appear very rural and probably lightly traveled in the dark. I have not even read an approximate time of death. It is possible that they made the drive after sun up. If their time of death was shortly before they were discovered. Has it been disclosed if their car was in the lot before the bar gate, indicating arrival before sun up, or in the larger lot after the gate? I hope the family and investigators get satisfactory answers for their deaths. I hope time was spent early in the investigation to find video evidence of their trip. Many video captures are erased after a few days. IMO there has not been enough info disclosed to reasonably speculate on how or why these young brothers are deceased. Blessings for their family and friends.

One problem I have with this theory, IIRC, they were both shot in the head. An accident with one twin shooting the other in the head would really, IMO, be a one in a million chance.

I'm still curious about the origin of the gun which makes me also wonder if the twins had any experience with firearms?

^^^This. When my daughter passed in March, we had people doing that on her page for the funeral home. It hurts when you see that, and I reported every one, until I couldn't do it anymore. It is exhausting. Especially, when YOU don't even know WHY your son/daughter has passed.

I also wanted to address the post about the toxicology screenings. We were also told it could take up to six months for them to return. So, whatever healing you may have done in the previous six months will be undone if something unexpected is found.

IMO, JMO, and all other disclaimers.

This adds to the secretive feeling surrounding this case, IMO.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t say that I know how you feel because even though i lost my oldest son, everyone’s situation is different. You bring up such a good point about how damaging some people/comments can be and how the grief can be profoundly brought to the surface again as things related to a loved one’s passing occur - like you mentioned toxicology results, but also all the “firsts” you have to experience without them, trials (if it was a criminal situation), younger siblings growing up without their sibling at their important events as well as every day, etc.
