GA - Twin brothers miss flight to Boston, found dead 24 hours later in Georgia mountains, 14 Mar 2025

  • #781
I would like to share a theory on what may have happened to these young men.

Considering these young men were preparing to take a flight to Boston and lived in the Lawrenceville, suburb of Atlanta, Ga., area; I would assume they would be taking a flight from the Atlanta International Airport.

Their neighborhood is located roughly an hour and 10 minutes from the Atlanta International Airport; therefore, two young men in good physical condition would have likely felt comfortable with taking a taxi or uber to their destination. (a search of cell phone records and internet history could provide more information). Now, with the excitement of going to visit friends in Boston these boys would have likely either watched their surroundings with the enthusiasm that comes with travel or would have been talking amongst themselves and having a conversation with their driver. Conversing with the driver could have lulled the teens into a sense of comfort. This could have allowed the driver to "take a wrong turn" where they would have made a right off of I-85 heading towards Bell Mountain instead of taking a left which would have taken them to the airport.

*Disclaimer: This is my personal theory based off of the information shared through public news outlets and law enforcement releases.

the only prob with your theory is that a car belonging to the boy's father was found inside the gated parking area at the mountain. mOO

Thank you, I had not seen anything about that. Would you mind sharing where you found that information?

Another problem with this theory is that it is known that Naazir (the only twin who was going on the flight) arrived late to the airport and missed his flight. He then rescheduled it for the next morning and got a ride back home. I'm not sure, but I think he was picked up at the airport by his twin brother, the one who wasn't going on the trip. They were then seen later together in CCTV from a convenience store 9 miles from their home, buying snacks and water. I think this was about 10:30 pm, but you'd have to check to sure of that time. Finally, their bodies were found, as you know, early the next morning on Bell Mountain. Their car was nearby (actually it was their father's vehicle).

So looks like that lets the Uber driver off the hook! (Although they did blame the driver for getting him to the airport too late to make his flight.)

Taking the time to read back through the previous 39 pages would be helpful. Many of the questions being asked have been discussed. Also all the media links are posted. Welcome to WS!!

Plus, only one of them was traveling to Boston to see his girlfriend.

I have written a lot, and then came to the conclusion that we may never know the reason for it. Whatever it was, they decided to leave this world together. Very sad, because I don’t view them as having no future, on the contrary, the boys had potential. What made them so devastated, depression or something else, we won’t know. RIP, Qaadir and Naazir.

Georgia allows ammo sales to 18 yr. olds. No permit, license, or registration of any kind required. Edit to add...There are numerous ammo manufacturers in the state of Georgia, several offering online sales.

I googled. They can buy a shotgun or a rifle at 18 from a dealer. And then there are gun exchanges.

Plus, there are private sales. I just Googled.

  • Age Restrictions:
    • For private sales in Georgia, the minimum age to purchase a handgun is 18 years old.
    • However, if the buyer were purchasing from a licensed dealer (FFL), the minimum age for handguns is 21, according to federal law.
  • Private Sales in Georgia:
    • Private sales between residents of Georgia are legal.
    • No background check is required for private sales in Georgia, but it is strongly recommended, according to Cash My Guns.
Hope it helps.

Seems from the article twins received the ammunition in the mail?

It appears Georgia is one of the more lax states in the US. If I understand correctly federal law allows shipped ammunition purchases only for shotguns and rifles if you are eighteen. For handgun ammunition you have to be twenty-one. So maybe that’s a clue as to what type of firearm was used?

Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in to correct me if I’m wrong.
I buy my ammunition at Walmart but I'm way older than 18.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Family members and advocates on Friday contended an official determinationby the Georgia Bureau of Investigation that twins Qaadir and Naazir Lewis died by suicide at Bell Mountain in March does not add up.

Advocates, including Georgia NAACP President Gerald Griggs, likened the conclusion to the initial law enforcement determinations made in the Ahmaud Arbery case, which video infamously later emerged to counter.

"We know what a lynching looks like, we know what it smells like, we know what a coverup starts out like," Griggs said Friday. "...The whole purpose of the NAACP is to investigate lynchings, and this smells like a lynching."

Fox 5 Atlanta has a better quality video of the presser, I don't know how to embed. The claim is being made that GBI is stating that the case is closed, yet refusing to release all investigative records to the family. The words "lynching" and "murder" are used in the press conference. "We know what a lynching looks like, we know what it smells like, we know what a coverup starts out like"......these words from the Georgia state NAACP President. They are also calling for a full and independent investigation in to the deaths.

looking at so many highly unusual and inexplicable series of events happening on the most unlikely of landscapes with no tangible explanation...I tend to think this is not evidence of suicide right? they are dead so there is evidence of something, there is a gun involved for sure and they did get bullets for a gun. someone searched about suicide data for the previous year. they both had gun residue.
umm ok but you can take a gun and transfer residue to two victim's hands. right?

ok so we have two dead boys on top of a mountain with gunshot residue on their hands, they purchased bullets, they had a gun, the car was found.

I don't really believe it...it's just not good enough. it's not. it's interesting that they can just declare suicide when there is no explanation for the deaths.

if they killed themselves, then walk me through it and tell me why. mOO

Inflammatory statements, IMO. Particularly since no one has seen the complete investigative file yet? The GBI is still finalizing the case. I did make a PRR for it myself and received a confirmation of same.

Again, I ask the same question. What benefit would a State Agency like the GBI have, to risk their jobs in order to cover up a semi-high profile case, that has garnered attention even ouside it’s own borders? They ruled based in the evidence discovered and the family is seemingly ignoring all of it.

I have compassion for this family and know they need details, in order to process the deaths of Naazir & Quaadir. But both the paternal & maternal sides aren’t acknowledging what has been revealed so far?

The new ask fund ($300k Goal) created after the GBI ruling has not been successful. The original fund ($200k Goal/$68k/Current) has plateaued. No meaningful new contributions.

Not a forensics expert by any means, but I don't think it is as simple as putting a recently fired gun into someone's hand to wipe the residue onto the hand. It's blowback from the shot, so that would seem like a discernable pattern -- at least to me. I don't know what happened here, of course.
