A Murray County man who went fishing last Friday went missing . His family tells us they've been looking for him ever since.

Murray County Sheriff Jimmy Davenport confirms they are looking for James Michael Sexton.

A relative tells us Sexton went fishing on the Conasauga River.

"This is like his favorite spot," says Sexton's sister, Lela.

We spoke to Sexton's fiancé, Alyssa Payne, who says he never returned home.

"He is always home by Sunday at six o'clock. Ready for supper, a shower, and then ready for bed," says Payne.

Sheriff Davenport says crews have been searching for Sexton by air, ground and water every day since last Sunday, and that the area is heavily wooded.

James Michael Sexton, 37, was reported missing on 7/16/2023 after he did not return home from a fishing excursion that he started on 07/14/2023 at the Conasauga river near the Murray/Whitfield line on Hwy 76.

HAVE YOU SEEN HIM?: James Michael Sexton went on a fishing trip to Consauga River Friday, according to his family.​

He has not been seen since.

His truck, hat, tackle box and phone have been located. There has been no sign of Michael or his fishing pole.
I spoke with Michael’s sister and fiancé who say he has been fishing in the Consauga River for years and is a strong swimmer.

He is 6' tall, weighs between 220-240 pounds, has dark brown/black hair and a beard.
