worse than reality TV with all the suspense-laden pauses...

Huh? What do you mean.. this IS reality? Surely not?

Come on already! This is unreal.

Not really... He's got to cover his 🤬🤬🤬 and all the bases very thoroughly.

WHICHEVER way this goes, he's going to be in deep doo-doo with one side or another, so he's being careful to dot his Is and cross his Ts (and he's loving every minute of it, too... :great:) )

So that when Oscar gets bail, Botha gets the blame?

Well, tbh, that's on the state for putting someone like that on the witness stand. How do you determine what is and is not the truth when the person doing the investigating makes numerous mistakes?

Remember, it's his own words that said there was nothing they had that said what OP said was false.

I have no speakers at work. Can't tell what is happening, but this is the last posts that have been made:

15:45 - Pistorius will have to meet requirements of exceptional circumstance as magistrate treats charge as premeditate murder. A big knock, says Mandy Wiener.

15:44 - Nair says he must look at past violent behaviour by Pistorius.

15:43 - Nair going through the factors that contribute to granting bail. What requirements Pistorius would have to meet.

15:42 - Nair running through the potential grounds for denying bail.

15:42 - Pistorius walks back into dock. His face deeply flushed, holding a folded tissue.

15:41 - And we're back.

15:36 - Nair asks for a 5 minute break.

15:48 - Nair: [Botha] didn't verify cellphone data of deceased, didn't follow up on phone records of accused.

15:48 - Nair now moves on to Botha's credibility.

15:46 - Nair: If defence is able to show the State has a weak case, that would be an exceptional circumstance.

15:50 - Nair: Botha may well have contaminated the crime scene by not wearing protective shoes.

At that point, did the State have a choice? Botha was the IO. Could they have had him replaced sooner?

Surely at some stage she called out? Whether it was telling him to stop (if it was straight out murder), or yelling out, it's me, Reeva (if the intruder angle is correct). If he was yelling out, I cannot imagine she was silent herself!

Exactly, did she not scream out at the first shot through the door. Did she not scream in agony when she was hit. No we are expected to believe that she was silent as he continued to pump her with bullets .

Agreed, but we are in somewhat uncharted waters here: normally this sort of thing would be a "flight risk/no flight risk" tossup, and not some miniature Crown Court TV exercise, with all sides actually using more bluff than facts (forensic, ballistic, otherwise).

This is a pretty curious form of justice-at-work, IMHO.

How does any of that change the fact that OP fired on someone multiple times in an enclosed space by his own admission?

Sky blog saying courthouse due to close in 10 minutes ! we can but hope that Nair winds up before then

Lol! Court will continue, even if closed, until Nair is finished. ETA: Have to admit, bail hearings there seem more like preliminary hearings here.
