So... what do you guys think of Brian from Brian's Prediction opening up a fund drive to gather money to go to investigate things in Portugal. He thinks the McCann's are being set up, from my understanding... so he is going over there to investigate and find Madeliene. No one would come forward to manage the fund, so he is using his own merchant and giving people directions on how to go to his store and send him money for the trip.
My personal opinion: scam... Madeleine's name is being attached to yet another scam. But he is wise in not actually using her name... but it is her that he is using to set the scam up, IMO.

I think its ridiculous.

I think what you think...scam. And he needs to keep his nose out of the situation and let it play out, set-up or not.

Hair reported to have been found in the car boot

Not sure in which thread I should insert this. Just making a few notes on cadaver hair, considering that much has been made of this in recent news. And like all the other news sources, who knows how reliable the information is. For now, I'd give it about an 80% liklihood that the "hair news" is accurate. There may be some details about it, that got lost in the translation.

I wanted to get some information that clarified, why this forensic evidence would be interesting, and how the hair is different than simply that which is associated with "transfer" of hair on clothes, blankets, etc. I ran across this information on the "transformation phenomena of cadavors", which suggested that the condition (they refer to it as, transformation) of the hair, may indicate how long a cadaver has been dead.

"...and detachment after 7-15 days; hair detachment simulating baldness".

And another reference to this transformation:
"The dusky, greenish-purple face appears bloated with the eyelids swollen and tightlyclosed, the lips swollen and pouting, the cheeks puffed out, and the distended tongueprotruding from the mouth. The head hair and other body hair is loose at its roots and canbe easily pulled out in large clumps".
Reference: http://www.dundee.ac.uk/forensicmedicine/notes/timedeath.pdf

Perhaps the PJ has reason to believe that this is what they are seeing in the car. The typical presentation of hair that has detached from the head, 7 to 15 days post mortem.

If anyone has any correction or clarification of this issue, please feel free to post.

Here are a few technical papers, perhaps someone has access to Medline searches:

Why,why, why would they tell what they are after???If there is anything to the diary it would be in the trash by now.

The Telegraph reported this:

"Portuguese police are keen to use the diary to look into the character of Mrs McCann, to see if her innermost thoughts might reveal if an apparently devoted mother might have killed her daughter.

Mrs McCann kept a diary throughout her time in Portugal, writing it as the couple travelled round Europe on private jets and commercial aircraft."

I'm so confused, I thought the McCann's had been against the things on Brian's site and he had to quit talking about the case because he was afraid of legal action. So, when did he become pro-McCann? Maybe it's a rouse.

He's just another form of predator. They have no shame.

See for yourself how he really does it. It's not dreams, and it's not paranomal.

Thank you for the links, Kelly... it is a very interesting read... and thank you for hitting the nail on the head: he's another form of predator.

I think he'd do very well to look at the trouble Strongwood got into for doing the same thing.

I read one place that the McCanns were given a key to the local church they were attending so they could pray at night.

Seems to me the body is probably hidden there somewhere.

From the article: "Jeffreys said there could be a potential problem in assigning a profile to Madeleine given that all other members of her family would have been in the car."

I don't know a lot about DNA, but I know enough. The only people walking on this earth who aren't completely unique are identical twins.

I posted something on another thread earlier about collecting hair from family members for process of elimination. It makes sense that the McCanns had a child's hairbrush with Maddie's hair in it. It should've been turned over to the police early on.

UPDATED
British Police Involved In Madeleine Case
Updated: 00:46, Thursday September 13, 2007

British police are reportedly preparing to seize items belonging to Kate and Gerry McCann, Sky's Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt has learned.

Diary thought to hold clues Brunt said the Portuguese judge considering evidence in the case of their missing daughter Madeleine had signed a warrant giving British detectives the right to take a number of items from the couple.

These included Mr McCann's laptop computer and various correspondence, he added, saying that Leicestershire Police officers were likely to attempt to seize the items later.

Portuguese prosecutors are reported to have asked the judge to sign the warrant because they believe the items could hold vital clues to the disappearance of four-year-old Madeleine.

They are already believed to have a copy of Mrs McCann's private diary after asking the judge to sign a similar order

I wish they'd quit saying "4 year old Madeleine". The poor thing was still only 3 when she disappeared, and as much as I hope she is 4 years old today, I doubt it..... But it also just annoys me, she was 3 when she disappeared, not 4. Not sure why that's such a big deal to me, but eh. It's like it's some kind of disrespect towards Madeleine, like the details don't matter or something. Dunno.
