Having a license to shop the warehouses was a requirement years ago but now anyone can enter then and anyone can buy. |But licensed stylist and nail techs get discounts.
Wild about the contacts isn't it? I guess if someone wants to try them for a special night it's ok, but I sure wouldn't want to mess with them without consulting a dr. first.

Rather ironic blog about the Moroccan Olive Farmer and his little girl:

Olive farmer in Madeleine McCann shock

Well, a tourist had taken a grainy snap of a fair-haired girl in the Moroccan countryside, with some North African Muslims. What more evidence do you need? Never mind the useless police, splash that picture across the globe at once with inquisitory headlines such as “Is this Maddie?”!

*snip*

... Some, however, might already have suspected that the impoverished father shown pushing a wheelbarrow piled with suitcases along a dusty road, while his gaudily clad wife ambles behind with child on back in the local style, was an unlikely head of an international child-smuggling ring.

Indeed! :p

(The grammar of that last sentence is a bit confusing - it was the father carrying the child on his back, and not the mother. But I agree with the sentiment that they didn't seem to be all that suspcious, given their bright clothes and the father's flowered hat.)

You'd still need to get those contac lens in and out of a four year old's eyes--it's really hard to get them to hold still for anything, let alone sticking something in their eyes.

It would be easier to just put dark sunglasses on Madeleine, if you were trying to hide her eyes. Cute little character glasses, and you're done with it. No fishing around to the back of her eyeball to find a missing torn contac lens.

Thanks for the welcome, Thoughtfox.

I also was looking at the photos of the Mark Warner resort sidewalks and the apartment that are posted in the pictures forum. It says that the swimming pool and Tapas bar area were under a “security control”. Does anyone know if that “security control” point was a gate with a keycard or with a guard. If a keycard, wouldn’t there be a record of the comings and goings of the Tapas 9? If there was a guard, wouldn’t he be watching for people who don’t belong.

Also, there seem to be short walls with dense bushes along the sidewalks from the swimming pool area leading to the apartment and only the window of the McCann’s apartment is facing a small parking lot. The entrance to the apartment from the side street does not seem to have any place to lurk and hide-there is again the short wall and dense bushes and the sidewalk. Just where would an intruder be lurking to watch the comings and goings through doorways for that ½ hour window of time that she was supposedly abducted?

Good point.

We've talked about the keycard security and it doesn't seem to have been in use. There seemed to be fairly open access between the actual resort and the apartments that had some resort privileges but were not actually part of the resort--which is where the McCanns were.

It's far easier to do something in a crowd where you can just blend in.

Even if you don't blend in, perhaps it is easier.

Several months ago, there was a story aired on some channel (sorry, I can't remember) about how easily children can be abducted in public places. This was actually a "staged" stranger and a small child. The stranger grabs the child, and the child is kicking and screaming, "YOU'RE NOT MY MOM/DAD", "WHERE/WHY ARE YOU TAKING ME?" ......... I can't remember the exact count of folks who just stood aimlessly by and watched, never offering more than a glance. Only ONE person (maybe two) called the police.

Madeleine, where have you gone?

The Aussies don't mess around...

"The Aussies don't mess around..." Nope, they went right after Lindy Chamberlain (and Aussie) and put that murdering mother in jail where she belonged. 'Course she was innocent and the case, if anyone has read it, was ludicrous, but you're right, "The Aussies don't mess around..."

Colomom, you could have written that article yourself. It brought out many of the same points you have in almost the same words.

Maybe that's because many parents have experienced similiar kicking/screaming/fighting episodes with their own children, leading them to believe it's just a regular tantrum.

My own daughter, btw just one month younger than Madeleine, sometimes screamed for the police, and for me not to kill (!!!) her, when she had her worst tantrums out in public. Most other parents just watched and nodded and showed me signs of sympathy. And that's probably what I'd do too.

Hi ThoughtFox,

I have followed this case from the beginning, but decided to take a break as it became to upsetting and frustrating. I have been reading everything still and have found your posts interesting and fair.

I do believe Kate looks more fragile in your link, whether the McCanns were involved or not, being such a high profile case would be enough to send anyone crazy.

I am just waiting for truth and this case to be over, but I am not holding my breath. I still pray for Madelaines safety and will continue to do so till this case is closed.

Her health has been fragile from day 1, her weightloss has been mentioned from the beginning, and several times sources around the M's have mentioned that she was "on the verge of breakdown".

So basically this is old news.

I think that's the point .... no one thought of the staged abductions being real. NO ONE would notice a child being snatched in a crowd, people would think it was just a tantrum.

I have a 5 year old, and can't imagine her missing, so this hits close to home with me as well. I still can't phathom the thoughts of a parent being involved, and continue to say they are innocent, if they are not. My heart still won't believe it, but my beliefs and feelings don't make the McCann's innocent or guilty.

The reason I call it "spin" that her health is "fragile" is the very fact that it is old news. But it is no accident those headlines are appearing now, a few days after the "disappointment" about the girl in Morocco.

They have a publicist who is trying to build sympathy for the parents.

Today's Headlines - and obviously press releases are going out from "Team McCann" because these stories are basically identical, with the same quotes:

McCann's gagged by cops

The pair have been forced to turn down an interview with the US's top television interviewer Barbara Waters which could have reached tens of millions of viewers, helping the search for the four-year-old who has been missing for almost five months.

McCanns told: be quiet or face jail

When the investigating authority in Portugal, who have all the evidence, are so certain that Madeleine died in the apartment on May 3rd, that they are not even following up ‘lookalike’ sightings, which they know are diversionary tactics by Team McCann, why does the British establishment keep up the pretence of looking for an abducted child?

The government seems to have an imperative to protect the McCann’s. The Professor Glees named below was responsible for the dubious claim that universities were being used for recruiting extremist and terrorists. He says the extremists include Islamist Jihadists, animal rights activists and the British National Party. Why should he have an interest in this case?

Sources said a secretive branch of the security services might be able to find her as they were among the best in the world at using state-of-the-art technology to track people.’

Among those calling for Britain’s Joint Air Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre (Jaric) and spy headquarters GCHQ to be enlisted was Professor Anthony Glees, Director of Brunel University’s Centre for Intelligence and Security Studies. He claims the centres might finally be able to uncover what happened to four-year-old Madeleine when she went missing from the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz on May 3.

The Professor said they could also lift the cloud of suspicion hanging over parents Kate and Gerry McCann, who Portuguese police believe killed their daughter and dumped her body. He said: “I’ve spoken to some people involved in these areas and they would be willing to do it. There’s no reason why it couldn’t be done but they would have to be ordered by the Prime Minister or Defence Secretary.”

I'm sure this has been discussed before. I saw a press conference at Nye County, Nevada today where LE are trying to find the abuser and the victim. They showed pictures of the little girl named Madison. The 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 tape they received was, according to a former NY policeman, "the worse he's ever seen."

The victim looks somewhat like Maddy--long blond hair, big eyes. No one has come forward to claim the child.

The LE don't know when the tape was filmed. A young man found it in the desert in May and turned over to LE recently.

If this has been discussed can someone provide me with a link?

I find it very odd that the child is named Madison and she is slight, petite.

Child victim of 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 tape has been found. Madison is with "family members."
Sounds like she's been with family all along.

I'm glad Madison was found and she was not Madieline.
