Witness who saw 'Madeleine' in Morocco receives Mafia death threats

A woman who claims to have seen Madeleine McCann being bundled into a taxi in Morocco, says she has received anonymous mafia death threats.

Naoual Malhi, 24, says men claiming to work for the country's crime barons have warned her to keep her mouth shut about what she saw - and ditch plans to probe the sighting herself.

The mum-of-one, whose daughter Ines is Madeleine's age, has told how one growled: "Let this lie if you know what's good for you, your daughter and the rest of your family, otherwise you're a dead woman next time you're in Morocco."

Police Search For Missing 9-Year-Old Rowan Ford

The girl's stepfather, David Spears, told investigators that she was asleep when he looked in on her before going out with friends around 10:45 p.m., said Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland.

The house at 777 Grove St. was left unlocked throughout the night, the sheriff told the newspaper.

Unbelieveable!!!

I did open a thread for her (god bless her little soul) on the Missing/Located Forum.

The bag, containing a child's t-shirt and a pencil case, was reported to have been found just over two weeks ago in a layby near Faro Airport, an hour's drive from the resort town of Praia da Luz where Madeleine went missing on May 3.

The contents were said to have been handed over to detectives investigating the four-year-old's disappearance, who sent them on to the Forensic Science Service in Birmingham for tests.

During 10 days of analysis, scientists reportedly found traces of hair and skin with a partial DNA match to Madeleine on the adult clothes - a pair of jeans and a blue fleece - also found in the bag....

A friend said: "It is encouraging because we think it shows that there is a chance, this could indicate an abductor has potentially discarded clothes on the way from Praia Da Luz.
"We realise this is not conclusive proof but we are encouraged the police have examined it and sent it for analysis so quickly. Certainly we feel that whoever owned the clothing has got a lot of questions to answer." (snip)

Question about what I bolded, what does it even mean? A chance of what, an abduction?

Way too many stories :banghead:

If this has been posted somewhere already, I'm sorry. From Reuters, so this is not a tabloid:

Police say blonde girl in Morocco is not Madeleine

Mon 5 Nov 2007, 17:51 GMT

MARRAKESH, Morocco, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Moroccan police investigating a reported sighting of missing British girl Madeleine McCann said on Monday they had found a blonde girl in recent days, but it was not her.

. . . Abdelmajid Chadili said officers had searched the coastal towns of Fnideq and Al Hoceima in the north of the kingdom following a tip off.

"In the case of Fnideq, we did find a small blonde girl," he said at an Interpol meeting.

"We found she was among her true parents and I can tell you she only speaks Arabic," he told reporters.

I, for one, am not surprised.

It isn't surprising about the death threat and the idea that Moroccan officials don't want Interpol and other LE agencies snooping around. Cripes. Morocco produces half the world's hashish.

Oh of course I forgot about the super reliable Nanny Pennington who already changed her story about the last time she saw madeleine alive

so you think the nanny is lying ? - should we ignore her evidence completely ?

The only trouble I have with that is I havent yet read her original statement - no-one has because ut hasnt been released . Shouldnt we just wait until we at least get that far.

I do believe that you are rubbishing the witness because it doesnt fit in with your idea of what what went on

Why does it have to be all or nothing?!?! Why can't we take what we want and discard the rest??

Just because I say it's BS does not mean that I would suggest that you do the same.

Tell me why I should change my mind....

The nanny was there -she is an eye witness - we cant just disegard her testimony -why on earth would she lie - is she part of it ?

It is up to the police to use these witnesses to find evidence - I have no idea if this witness is reliable or not - but at the moment with a case with so few - we should not just disregard what she says as rubbish

The same nanny said that she last saw Madeleine in the evening when she gave her tea, on the TV programme she changed her story & said she last saw her after lunch so that blows her creidbility for me. This is the same person who lived in New Zealand at the same time that Gerry McCann did!

Kate said that after lunch and a time at the pool, she took the children back to the Kids' Club where they had high tea at 5:30 p.m. and then were picked up by Kate & Gerry at 6:00 p.m. I think it was all one slab of time at the Kids' Club, after lunch. The children had also been there in the morning. So it was a session before lunch and a session after.

I do not rubbish anything or anyone because they don't fit in with my idea of what went on. I take what I read & analyse it and when someone changes their story I become suspicious. From the article linked on previous page:

She said: "I was helping give the children high tea. The twins were there and Madeleine and both parents.

High tea was 5.30 - 6.30pm I believe. I myself heard her say on television that she last saw Madeleine at lunch time. Now whatever statement she gave to the PJ is totally irrelevant to the fact that she stated two entirely different times in interviews! It really cannot be both times only one is the truth! The fact that she has lied calls anything else that she says into question.

Regarding Robert Murat being seen on the 3rd May, I am not saying that he is entirely innocent in this case but it is strange that only UK witnesses have seen him. Not one local from a small town like PDL where everyone knows everyone else saw him there that night!

"Inside the suitcase, according to the newspaper, were a pair of jeans that were covered in residues (skin and hair that have been "certainly frozen", a shower curtain, a child's t-shirt, a case for pens, and a flannel bedsheet"

How can the McCanns say that this gives them fresh hope that Madeleine is alive?

A shower curtain?? Why? Did whoever do this wrap her in a shower curtain? There was also a flannel sheet? Very odd assortment of items to discard, INO

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories/2007/11/05/madeleine-dna-in-bag-of-clothes-89520-20061862/

Forensic expert Dr John Manlove said yesterday: "If a crime stain produces a DNA profile that is not an exact match with a reference sample from a known individual then the DNA in the crime stain could not have originated from that individual. However, if there are many parts of similarity between the two DNA profiles, it should be considered that the individuals may be related."

So does this mean that whoever owns the clothes in the bag found near faro airport must be related to Madeleine?

That was one possibility that I considered, the other being that it was someone involved in the case because of the weird word "linked". But it seems more has come out now & what was meant was a partial match, so pointing more to a relative. It depends on how many markers have commonality w. Madeleine's DNA. If it is like 8 or 10, probably not even a relative.
