George & Cindy's Response to "NO DEATH PENALTY" Decision

  • #101
It really does not matter what the A's say. If LWOP is a win for them, so be it. Their win means that not only will they never see Caylee again, KC will never be with them again during their lifetime. Ah, La Bella Vita.

Didn't Cindy come on the news and state that it was a win when Casey was arrested initially because if was "only for child neglect?" Wasn't that touted as a victory also?

To Cindy, finding a Caylee look-a-like means Caylee is still alive.

Combination of things going with the Ants, imo.

(1)They blame themselves for whatever happened after the big blowup, after using 'tough love.' The Creature had stolen and lied. They'd had enough (JUSTIFIABLY.) They were finally ready to act, but when they did....whatever happened, happened. Now Caylee's gone and KC's in jail, most probably guilty of murdering Caylee. The voices in their heads keep saying (among other things) that if only they hadn't brought things to a head, everything would be ok. This would be tough for any of us, but they won't face up. Facing up is important because once they do, they can move beyond guilt to deeper understanding. It's unacceptable to let one's child go on thieving and lying forever, especially when a child is involved. KC's irresponsibility was bad for both herself and Caylee. The Ants were right to try to stop her and set her on a better path. They didn't kill Caylee. KC did whatever she did, not because she was held accountable but because she couldn't an accident responsibly or because she's capable of murder. If the Ants can accept that, they can see they tried to do the right thing and take some comfort from knowing that it's good to try to do the right thing.

(2) If they know what happened, because somehow they've accepted it, or KC has told them, or (God forbid) they played some part in a cover up, then they may think or may know they raised a murderer, and feel guilt and shame for that. Maybe, they don't want anyone to know and they want to do whatever they can do for KC because she's all they have left. Yet, if they could face what they think or know, they could put a higher good above their own interests and guilt (Caylee specifically, society in general.) Look at the Unibomber's family. They read a manifesto, thought it sounded like Ted and started talking to the FBI. The FBI caught him and lives and limbs have almost certainly been saved. They probably feel rotten that one of their did these awful things, but the can at least have some peace knowing they stopped him from doing more harm and allowed justice to be served for his victims. If the Ants could truly put Caylee above KC, I think they'd understand that they need to face the truth and move forward FOR CAYLEE, to memorialize her, to bring her justice. Then they'd have the peace of closure knowing they did they best for Caylee. However, they just don't seem to be able to muster the courage.

(3) Imo, the Ants have been playing games from Day 31, trying to get the truth out of the Creature From Adverb Lagoon. Prior to that, there are indications that the Ants were not at all happy with KC and her choices and not shy about telling her so. We have Jesse telling the police that Cindy often insulted KC in his presence. Amy said the same thing. When she was in the car with Cindy, Cindy was disparaging KC almost the whole time. Ryan said Cindy called him to tell him that KC was a sociopath and other bad things. When Cindy got to TonE's, she told him KC would steal him blind. Cindy's mom is writing her relatives talking about KC's various irresponsibilities and crimes, almost certainly because Cindy had been telling her mom, and because they'd all been victims. KC told Lee she needed alchohol to put up with her dad at a family celebration. Then, there was the big blow-up fight. It wasn't all gooey sweet at the Ants. KC had thrown her parents under the bus all over town. Cindy was apparently capable of coming down on Casey like a ton of bricks, but to look at the nicey, nicey interaction with KC holding court in the jail visits, one would think that there had been an outer-space invasion, and that these people had been body-snatched. They are either trying to present a false face to the media, police and public or the Ants think if they can convince KC they love and support her, no matter what, she'll tell them where Caylee is. They want to think she's alive early on, so they do. Maybe some psych told the Ants that they had to handle KC without confrontation because of her personality disorder. Who knows? Whatever, doesn't seem to have worked. It's horrid what KC has done, and is still doing, to her parents.

(4) The Ants seem to have gone downhill drastically in the past couple of weeks. Their appearance deteriorated and they went silent. Maybe they know something that we don't know yet. Perhaps dropping the DP is part of it. Perhaps Jose is in negotiations. Perhaps the Ants know that. Perhaps they know why.

You are very insightful and IMO spot-on.

I also think the Ants have gone and are going downhill. In one of the newly released videos Cindy tells Casey she hasn't talked to her mother (Shirley). It sounds like they've had to give up people they've loved to protect the "perp".

Despite the obvious contempt Casey has had for her family now it is them or "being alone".

I don't think Casey's life is going the way she was hoping it would after she killed Caylee.

IMO

the Creature From Adverb Lagoon.

I don't know if you coined this or not, but that is the funniest comment I've seen yet on this board. Bravo to you or whomever initially coined that one. Bravo.

When trying to remember what lie you just told....absolutely...works every time!

Or say "you can't talk" because you are being recorded and the bad kidnappers might hear OR the mean cops trying to frame you might misconstrue.

That way you NEVER have to answer pesky questions like..."where is Caylee?"

Wait she thinks she will get out of this with minimum jail time I swear she does.

I think there will definately be a conviction now. There is always the possibility of 'iffy' when the DP is on the table. It only takes one juror who might hesitate, worrying and not wanting to make a permanent decision about the fact that no body was found. Well the prosecution has removed that obstacle. Now the DP is off the table.

In some ways I kinda understood the A's not wanting their child to be submitted to the DP. But with it off the table and a conviction almost a forgone conclusion I have to wonder. Knowing that Casey will most likely get life no matter what they do from now on, will the A's hollow continuance of denial be enough to satisfy them when the holidays come around? Most grieving families have at least some release in visiting the grave of their loved one during the holidays. Showing some remembrance. As long as the A's continue with the denial, they won't have that release. They will have the Christmas tree set up and no little girl under it. No grave to go and mourn over. Not even a way of acknowleging that there was once a sweet child there to celebrate and share with. Just.... empty.

They know, they just have to keep up the facade until after the trial. It serves two things, One they may be able to persade a juror or two and it keeps $$$ coming in for donations to the cause.

When KC gets LWOP, this will end. They will never openly admit it, but they know.

When/if KC gets LWOP, they'll still insist that Caylee is out there somewhere. I don't think the A's will ever stop with that.

Oh come on, now. How have the Anthonys "thrown away" any chance of finding Caylee's body? How have they turned their backs on Caylee?

These people will cling to anything that offers them the slightest hope that their beloved grandchild is still alive. They know as well as anyone that the chances are slim, but should they abandon all hope? Would you?

it's how they are "hoping"..in such an undignified way.

Fortunately (sad to say) that with the conviction not many will be listening. Living with lies will be no life at all. The rest of us, hopefully, will find some comfort in knowing that justice was done...for Caylee.

Honestly...that is exactly what I thought was gonna happen. The A's believe this is a victory for them and the defense. AND, it kind of brought thoughts of the same thing to me...that LE has less conclusive evidence than originally thought. This is just my opinion...BUT, I am BEYOND totally ticked off that this was decided. I don't think they have a plea bargain coming...Casey would NEVER allow that...it would admit she "lost the game" in her mind, so to speak. I KNOW there's a lot more evidence we have yet to see. I'm feeling this is a part of LE's plan to maybe give the defense a false sense of security and Baez will feel he can take over the case and then BLOW it!!

she is the DTD kinda girl. Deny till death...it's a game and she wins these kind of games. She will just win this one in an 8 x 10 cell.

:) I have considered this on numerous occasions.

We know Cindy choked Casey. In Cindy's video interview recently, she went on & on about how she would walk away and never get violent. She explained this in a "protest tooooo much" sort of way. It bothered me.
There was also a LA remark IIRC when he asked if it was "like the last time" or something to that effect.

ETA: in other words, I don't think these outbursts were that uncommon.

There comes a time when "hoping" will hurt them more than help them. They need to reconcile the loss in order to move on. There lives will never be the same, there will be a new kind of "normal", but for the well being of their psyche, they need to come to terms with Caylee being "lost"...and unable to be found. It will be a living hell otherwise. JMHO

".....Today's announcement only supports our theory that our granddaughter is still with us..."

NO CINDY - NO GEORGE!!!! IT means that the Prosecution doesn't want to risk a non-conviction based on the potential of imposing death with no body!!!!!!!!!!! Besides that, DEATH would be too easy for your daughter - she needs to rot in prison!
When this is over, if it is ever over Sindy needs to see about a job as a spinmiester for the White House!

I for one would rather the DP be off the table. It's a far worse punishment for a 22yo social butterfly to spend her entire long life rotting in jail. She could be there 70 years or more, wiping the mascara smudge tear from her right eye endlessly until her skin wears away. It's still a DP, only without the fan fare. She'll die alone on her metal cot, beside her stainless steel toilet, without a cell phone, text messaging or access to the internet. The lack of men to flirt with alone could kill her.
Far more likely she'll get a conviction too! The A's can just keep on spinning. Lalalalal...I don't hear them anymore anyway. :)

You're not all alone, Paula. :) I can't see anything the A's have done that throws away any chance of finding Caylee. Their response to the DP being taken off the table is not surprising, being that it's no different than what they've said in public all along. :waitasec:

People seem to think that if the Anthonys would admit that Caylee is deceased it would immediately lead to the recovery of her body. I can't figure that one out.

I don't know that they have done anything to hinder finding Caylee, but they certainly haven't helped in the search. By them not giving LE the pants before they were washed, Caylee's hairbrush, wanting them to chase after little girls that obviously aren't Caylee, they have wasted LE time and resources on ligitimate searches. They have withheld receipts and probably other critical info that would help in narrowing a timeline and location of KC, who is the last "known" person to see Caylee. Everything that I have seen about missing children says the quicker that you can search, the more apt you are to find them and they certainly have delayed the process.

Without a body they will always believe Caylee is alive.
With a body, they will never believe Casey did it.

Poor Caylee can not even rest in peace.

Unfortunately and sadly, this is the real truth of the situation. I believe that deep down George and Cindy know Caylee is dead. But they can't acknowledge that publicly as it begs the question, how did she die, was she killed, and who killed her? These are the questions they can't face, as they would then have to confront Casey's complicity in Caylee's death. I don't think George and Cindy can ever confront that reality.

Even if Casey were to confess to killing Caylee, I don't think George and Cindy would believe it. I think their response would be that Casey is lying.

Washing the pants, which may have already been washed by Casey, has nothing to do with finding Caylee. Caylee's hair was provided to LE when it was asked for, yet Caylee has still not been found. A JCPenny receipt of purchases made long after Casey disposed of Caylee's body is not helpful in determining where Caylee's body is located.

Do you really expect the grandparents NOT to report possible Caylee sightings to LE? Up until recently, LE followed up on those tips. They apparently didn't feel it was a waste of time. I see no way whatsoever that the Anthonys have delayed the search process.
