I am curious about this SYG FL law.... There are many battered women that have been beaten worse than GZ (not saying he wasn't badly hurt), if they shoot their husband, could they use that law?

According to GZ's own words...he said TM said to him "Why are you following me?"

Supposedly, his response was "What are you doing around here?"

Then what?

George states later he was trying to detain him...unsure if this is supposedly before or after the shot?

Again, I am so confused about that statement.

But GZ states that the original confrontation begins with "Why are you following me?" from Trayvon.

This tells me - maybe it's just me - that George was in fact, following him then.

This didn't happen at GZ's car. The car was quite some distance from where this happened. Trayvon wasn't hiding anywhere...there are no buildings to hide where he was found. That was out in the open as it comes in that complex.

This is the problem. George's story doesn't add up to what we have been told and what we know.

And if he's lying about how this all happened, there is a reason for that.
There are absolutely small fences or partitions in the patio areas in which a person could hide.

So how did they end up where Trayvon was killed? If he had came back, why didn't George just get in his truck and lock the doors?

Why is the testimony I'm hearing right now, have George chasing Trayvon?

(granted, my feed keeps cutting out, but that's what I heard)

George was nowhere near his truck when he was attacked. TM was a lot closer to where he was staying then GZ was to his own truck.

Were Martin's hands bagged at the scene? And how long were his fingernails? Is it a 100% sure chance that Zimmerman's DNA would be under his fingernails or on his hands from a closed-fist blow and using an open hand to slam his head into the sidewalk?

I've read his hands were bagged, do not have a link. Could you do what GZ cliams TM did without having any DNA or blood on your hands, or under your fingernails? not even trace evidence of GZ on Trayvons hands. Not even a moustache hair.

If they are in fear of their life, maybe. SYG may not come into play because it may technically be a resident of the house engaging in the violence, but it would definitely be a case of self-defense. (SYG and plain self-defense are not the same things)

NO. He did not.. He said " We don't need you to do that.. "

That is not anywhere the same thing..

I'm not getting into a battle over nouns and verbs. That sounds like the way you would talk to a child, we don't need you to do that. In other words don't do that. GZ knew the rules and decided not to listen and that is that.

For those looking at the pictures TM was originally on his back when the first officer arrived. That officer flipped him over onto his left shoulder and then again to his back. He did not uncross his feet which is why they are crossed in those pictures.

He rolled him to see if he was alive and perform CPR.

you mean face down?? the cell phone pic that shows TM b4 he was touched by police show him face down lying on his stomach

Where is evidence that he chased Martin down? From what evidence has been presented so far, Zimmerman was watching from a distance to ascertain where Martin fled to and Martin initiated the confrontation.

And, in my opinion, I'd say the person more likely to start a fight might be the kid with a history of drug use, potential gang activity, talking about illegal ownership of guns with friends, multiple thefts, and was currently suspended from school.

The operator reported wind noise, which would indicate Zimmerman was moving quickly, if not running. Zimmerman also mentions that he kept walking around, supposedly to look for an address, though for someone who knew the neighborhood, it sounds quite thin that he wouldn't know where he was.

For one thing, marijuana is a calming drug. About the only thing you'll smash after a joint is a sandwich.
For another, you're referencing an alleged history (no arrest record) that Zimmerman knew absolutely nothing about when he took it upon himself to chase someone down with a gun. There is only one person in this situation that has a documented history of assault, and that's Zimmerman - and it's not based on unverified stuff "found" on social media by skinhead hackers.

Is talking about guns a crime now (as opposed to using one to shoot someone to death)? Because I see people do that every day online.

That is self-defense. They both have a right to be in the house imo.

DNA is not some magic thing that is always transferred from one person to another. Plus, there was rain and there is doubt his hands were even bagged properly.

With no bruising or marks on TM hands per the pics, is it possible that GZ hit himself in the face with his big flashlight? The multiple punches to the face does NOT add up.
And what gun owner carries their weapon with a fully loaded clip PLUS one chambered? That's just bad gun safety and an accident waiting to happen. IIR, there was no safety on GZ's gun.

Thank you. If mom tells a 5-year old "I don't need you to do that," it means stop. If your boss says it, it means stop. If a police officer says it, it means STOP. So why are we supposed to believe that GZ doesn't have the same sense that a 5-year old child has, to know it means stop?

In my reading, this is often used as a defense of SYG laws, that they benefit abused spouses. So I would say yes.

IF I was talking to my child And I did not want them todo something I would say..

Don't do that..

NOt

I don't need you to do that..

The last statement still gives the option of choice.

George was nowhere near his truck when he was attacked. TM was a lot closer to where he was staying then GZ was to his own truck.

That totally contradicts what you have said then.

You said GZ was headed back to his truck...that he only followed Trayvon for 11 seconds...and after he said "OK" to the 911 operator, he turned to go back to his truck.

How was he so far away from his truck if he was only following him for 11 seconds?

He also stayed on the phone for quite some time even after being told not to follow...which according to you he immediately headed back to his truck.

Then he hung up. And then whatever happened, happened. We don't know how long that took.

But SURELY he would have easily been back to his truck if he wasn't following Trayvon after the 911 officer said to not do it.

Why was he so far away from his truck then???

Ok, then why was George not at his truck if he wasn't following TM?

How (why) did George go from being at his truck, to being where he shot TM, if he wasn't following him?

Is it possible to block certain users so that I don't have to see ANY of their comments?

I've been following cases since JBR...and have been on WS since CA... and while us "regulars" have disagreed a time or 3...we managed to keep this a great forum. But all these comments not regarding the trial...not regarding the case...but just comments for the sake of calling someone a racists for their actions or comments...is getting ridiculous.

So if there is a way to block...can someone please give me the cliff notes version of how to do that?
