IDK, I've heard his version and it sounds pretty solid.

Then he'd have no reason not to testify I guess. <modsnip>.

We know that TM was on top of GZ at some point via witness statements. We know that GZ had injuries. These two points were debated furiously when this happened because those two things fly in the face of TM being the helpless victim.

Lets see how the trial plays out, especially with those two particular facts. I go back to what Schaeffer said this morning, don't know how legally it's true. He said if GZ stopped being the aggressor during that fight and the result was TM shot, GZ is not guilty of murder.

In the interrogation tapes, George says that he was yelling for help. This was the night of or the morning after the shooting. At that time, he would NOT have known that there were 911 recordings of the screams because he had not even left police headquarters yet.

He was however THERE! And if the screams were Trayvon's, clearly he heard them. And he knows there were people home...eyewitnesses could testify to the screams.

He knows the screams happened - whether they were his or Trayvon's. So they would be included in his retelling. Whether his retelling is factual is another matter.

OAN - are you all aware George Zimmerman's father is a retired judge? I don't know all of the specifics (what type of judge, etc). Since George was allowed to go home that night, what do you think the chances of George talking to his dad about what happened? I am gonna say pretty high! LOL!! Wonder what THAT conversation consisted of?

Ok, I just got home from the doctor and errands. What'd I miss? I heard the defense opened with a knock knock joke that went over like a led balloon. What was it and what are people's impressions now?

Knock knock
Who's there?
George Zimmerman
George Zimmerman who?
You can be on the jury

har dee har har

Yeah, that was bad. It took a while, but defense is doing ok IMO. Started off pretty rocky, but has hit his stride now.

Well that is sad. But he does have reason to testify because even though I've heard it the jury hasn't, presumably. GZ is claiming self defense. He has to testify.

I missed the "Knock "Knock" joke too.

Can someone please post it?

Thank you,

What if Trayvon smashed him with his elbow in the face?? And the back of the head wounds require no contact of TM's hands and the wounds.

I'm going to pay close attention to the DNA evidence. I know that Trayvon's fingernails were scraped, but I've heard different things about whether any other part of his hands were tested for DNA. I also wonder whether the absence of DNA would be all that signficant. I have a feeling we'll be hearing a lot about that.

I'm on my phone and I just tried posting but it didn't work. Trying again so sorry if it repeats.

I'm confused about the jury. Why are there only six? And all women? Im shocked that both sides would be ok with that.

I'm not sure if this question has been answered but I believe in Florida they only require 6 jurors if it's not a 1st degree case.

I only know a few tidbits about this case and I try to listen only to facts and not hearsay. Listening over and over to the tapes of the screaming makes sense that it would be someone in total distress.

Didn't gz give his account of what happened and explained that he was yelling for help and it was way before he knew that there would be any doubt about his story.

I like this judge so far. She seems to be prompt and will hopefully move this along without too many delays.

He was never a judge. He was a magistrate. Basically a glorified clerk.

It's been painful to listen to the Defense's opening. Should have let the other attorney do it.

Let's just say for arguments sake that TM was the one screaming. GZ would have known that TM was screaming for help and that witnesses in the homes would have heard that and reported it, so he would have to imply the screams were coming from him. However, in the video of the initial walk through with police the day after the shooting GZ said that TM was on top of him with his hands over GZ mouth and nose. How can you scream so clearly for help with someone's hands over your mouth?

It is possible tm hit gz in the face with his head.

This is significant IMHO. Thank u.

Then there'd be GZ blood on his hoodie elbow. Elbow to the nose of the <modsnip> stalking a kid who had every right to stand his ground on his home turf as the adult did and the self defense for such is shooting to kill. Really?

I am so glad you brought a thread back~~! Thanks for posting everyone, I'm at work and can't watch.

They both would have wounds to reflect that then. Does anyone know who the ME is in this case?

I just don't believe this is plausible. That GZ claimed TM's screams for his own. Too fast and really it doesn't make sense to me. At this point he has no idea anyone else heard screams so why make a up a lie.

""Knock Knock"

"who's there?"

"George Zimmerman"

"George Zimmerman who?"

And now you are on the jury."

Am I right in how I remember this?
