They have been named in Dutch papers. The Dutch victim anyway. Does that count? (serious question)

Yes, that has counted previously in MH17 crash.

I hate when they do this! Plane had a check yesterday. The check the plane had yesterday was any of us walking around our car and making sure tires were not flat, nor massive liquid leaks.

Aircraft go through 4 "real" checks, designated A B C D . A progression. A D is basically a rebuild after decades. This aircraft had its C check in 2013 - yesterday was kicking tires, and a visual glance looking for overt issues - nothing signifigtant, means nothing!

Am seeing first video, it is a very confusing image. Wreckage is clustered in a relatively small area, but impact and velocity seem to indicate an extraordinary (destructive forces) at actual impact. Brings back memories of JAL 123, a 747, explosive decompression, but at this point it is very confusing cause we are not getting extraordinary speeds on the way down, very bizarre guys!

So -- what caused this? What do you imagine did, anyone?

As far as the lack of distress call, It could possibly be due to the pilots' being incapacitated, or them trying to save the aircraft. I know the Hudson flight pilots stopped communicating with ATC towards the end of that flight because all efforts were on bringing he plane down as controlled as possible.

Here is JAL 123:
Quick tail skid, they repaired but did so wrong, the rear bulkhead blew out, the captains were amazingly able to keep the 747 flying for like 29 minutes, horrible for passengers, it was rollar coaster that went on for 29 minutes. Here are some images of that crash site :

This crash site reminds of this disaster............................ not cause..................but debris field -- this aircraft just disintegrated....................

I was only able to see 3 images in CARIIs post and a bunch of gobbledygook. Anyone else? Or is it just because I have an IPad?

Excuse me if this video has been posted.

It looks like that plane went through a shredder. I am baffled at what could have happened.

Even if the pilots were busy trying to save the plane, it was 9 minutes before they crashed, and they didn't nosedive. Surely they would have had the chance to even shout one little mayday? I'm really curious if the black box(es) will have anything on them...

I'm not an expert but the debris field seems to be large, wide spread for it to have hit the ground then spread. IDK just seems possible that it exploded before hitting the ground. jmo idk Not saying it's intentional just that it doesn't look like it hit the ground first.

Most experts and authorities seem confident this was not a terrorist attack. I don't understand how they can be so certain, this early. It's strange to me, but I'm no aviation expert.

I feel so sad for all the families of the victims tonight, and what they are going through. :(
