Found Alive Germany - Maria-Brigitte Henselmann, 13, Freiburg, 4 May 2013

I think it is highly likely Haase has a handle on the web, but I can't find it. I wouldn't be surprised if he has been following the case and going around deleting things. I have found a little bit of info from his political times, but I have to get it checked first, to make sure I have got it right.

This may be relevant - you cannot buy a cell phone in Germany without ID. It wouldn't be very easy for him or Maria to have bought new phones anonymously........unless they travelled to a country where you can, of course.

Just bumping this to make sure Maria knows she is not forgotten. Being an IT person, I am sure Haase isn't able to keep completely away from the internet. I hope he gives Maria a chance to contact her friends or family too.

I'll post the info I found a bit later.

2005: Kandidat for Landsschatzmeister NRW der Republikaner Partei
2005?-2013 Informationselektroniker- I think this means he is an IT professional, experienced in the use of computer cabling networks, and nothing to do with household electrical installations. His full name is Bernhard Manfred Haase and he was born in 1960. He may be skilled in other areas of IT such as building websites etc, so it's possible he is able to work and be paid, completely online, anywhere.

The NRW party which Haase was/is a member of is a very right wing one. For me, this rules out that Haase would flee to Eastern European countries such as Bulgaria, or maybe even the Czech Republic or Poland. I don't think he would go to Turkey either. Greece, Italy or Spain would be a better bet, and certainly any Northern countries to the west of Germany.

2003: Article entitled anti-fascist, pg 3 with title beginning 'Republikaner wahlten', mentions Haase is standing as an NRW candidate.
http://de.scribd.com/doc/31042489/antifaschistische-nachrichten-2003-04

He is listed here ( 115 boxes down) along with his birth year, job title and postal address:
http://www.wahlergebnisse.nrw.de/landtagswahlen/2000/kandidaten/w_land6.htm

He is here, in a list of 'extreme right candidates', under another address:
http://antifaaktionerftstadt.blogsport.de/images/lw2005nrw_kandidat_innen.pdf

Again listed here as living in the landtagswahl as a Republikaner Partei Kandidat
http://www.hiergeblieben.de/pages/textanzeige.php?id=5385

I don't know if we have seen this article as there appears to be a quote from Haase's mother in it;
http://www.westfalen-blatt.de/nachricht/2013-06-06-spurensuche/706/

Here he is under his own name posting on a forum about dogs in 2007;
http://gb.webmart.de/gb.cfm?id=945779

fb page of the Lippische Zeitung with an article and a few comments.
https://de-de.facebook.com/Deine.LZ?sk=app_2309869772

I find it of very great concern that Maria is with someone who might have 'extreme' views about anything. I am also surprised that no-one in the media seems to have followed up that Haase was formerly a teacher. I don't know what age children he taught, but had he been my child's teacher I would certainly want to know if there had been any irregular behaviour then.

It would probable be a good idea if we could put Maria's poster in our search and flyer distribution thread, with the new photo of Haase. I'll try and do it now, and will search for any info on his role as a teacher.

Double post (again) Im having a day of it today! grrrr
Sorry guys.

But why waste a post...
zwiebel - thanks for all the links - very interesting reads - though counting 115 boxes (I did find it ;))

Nice catch there! His website looks as if he has built it, so he's skilled and educated... and recently 'stupid'.

Where could they be ? :(

Lets all have a guess based on gut feeling!

First thing that comes to my mind is South of France.

That's what I think.

First thing that comes to my mind is South of France.

I'll have a guess later on that - I'm undecided :)
Though I agree - South of France sounds like a good location.

Observation and question...
Marias Bitte Findet Maria Facebook Page is no longer Public and you need to sign in to see it. It may mean Maria cannot connect to that page without having to sign in - and unless she has a new account, (or uses her own) she wont have access to it.
I wondered why the page had gone Private?
Possibly it is hard to monitor the page?

Though she would have access to her Monika Beisler's (Maria's mother) wordpress blog:

Just Updating - small extract from most recent blog.
Blog post is here: LINK
Dear helpers, compassionate love,
it is very hard not to lose heart.
forty nights ago, it is now that it was a "normal" life at home. Since then much has changed. I lead a life between conversations with the police and other organizations involved, the search group here on Facebook and allow the half reasonably normal life of siblings of Mary.
It is a Dahtseilakt, the so infinitely requires much strength. Strength that I actually do not own in my situation!

Hope Maria is home soon.

Hey speaking of south of France... what about the islands ? I'm sorry I know so little of that area but are the islands south of Spain as regulated as the mainland? I know that sounds silly. I can't say what I mean. I just wonder if one might think if I can get to that island, I'll be less visible than on the mainland. I would have not guessed south of France. IDK why I would have guessed more eastern euro..... heading towards former soviet countries.

Figtree, when the first Findet Maria page was shut down, or rather before it was shut down I asked them why they want to close it since it had attracted so much attention. The admin answered me saying that it is too much work to monitor, apparently there were a lot of not so nice comments that needed to be deleted. They thought moving it to a group would be easier. My guess is that they found out it is not and now made it private. I've seen this before with "Find So-and-so" pages and groups. There are always some insensitive people who accuse the parents or get lost in wild und ludicrous speculations which isn't helpful at all.

Wow this is some darn great police work mister! Thanks a lot. Happy to see you guys dedicating your time for this.

I just got a cold shiver to the combination of right wing extremist and albino german shephard. This guy seems to have racial issues and who knows what else. This also means he may have a network of friends who choose loyality over morality. Never forsake your brother in need!

He is an IT specialist and should know that his visits for example this site will be logged but my guess is that he has checked his status on web and might very well have been visiting here too. If you find some less related or remote addresses in Apache access.log with this thread URL then it might be a clue.

Administrator is it possible you check the access.log of this thread? You could for example..

Get the IPs that accessed this thread from the log:
grep 't=208901' <your-log-file> | awk '{ print $1 }' | sort | uniq > /tmp/ip.txt

Check the names of those addresses and save them to a file:
awk '{ print "host " $1 }' /tmp/ip.txt > /tmp/dns-check.sh
sh /tmp/dns-check.sh > /tmp/names.txt

From the names list it is easy look for places other than germany. Maybe there would be some suspicious patterns even? Some network cafe address from brazil or whatever..

I tried messaging the administrator to check the logs for IPs but this was the answer

WS Admin has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove WS Admin from the recipient list and send the message again.

I must also point out that searching for IP's does not violate privacy. We only see the nationality and the owner of the IP block from them.

It's forbidden to sleuth fellow posters on WS, so that will never happen lexx.

But I still think Maria will be found, and we can help by keeping her name and photo out there on the web, along with Bernhard Manfred Haase.

Thanks so much for the reply Elainera.
I cant imagine how much work the FB page must be as well as trying to cope with everything else. I think Maria's mother is like a 'super-woman'. She is dealing with so much.
Prayers and strength to her and her family.

Well, when I lived in the Southern part of France we just drove to Spain and it was incredibly easy. You can choose a pretty deserted road and suddenly you're in Spain. There's no-one there to check who you are. It is worth remembering July and August are not far away, which is when half of Germany and half of England (it seems like) head for Spain or France.

From Spain you can cross to Gibralter. That's British and english-speaking. It's a very close community there, but because of the language barrier and distance I think many people wouldn't have heard of Maria. They wouldn't need to show a passport but....id is required, and is checked. The Balearic islands Majorca, Minorca etc) are complete party/tourists islands absolutely stuffed to the gills with younger English and German tourists. It would be fairly costly to hide out there because rentals fetch a premium, and a lot of the Germans will have seen Maria's photo. I am sure that either getting there by boat or plane would require a passport or ID.

Morocco and Tunisia are popular destinations for travellers from France and Spain, but passports and visas are required.

In the central areas of both France and Spain there are some very remote country houses where you could live and rarely see a soul, but the chances of finding work would be zero and many in Spain wouldn't have broadband either. In August the whole of France goes on vacation. Hundreds of thousands of city dwellers have second homes and towns go from a winter population of say, 7,000, to 250,000. Even in the remotest areas, Maria and Bernhard might be spotted then.

Try to message a mod instead, maybe they can help you.

I don't think lexx meant to sleuth any members of this forum, just people who had looked at this thread. But yea you might be right, it might overlap and hence not be allowed.

Thanks SCHMAE & zwiebel & Elainera :)
Unless Maria and Haase have some form of documentation (forged) they are still basically restricted to the EU countries. Especially if Maria has never had a passport at all before.

Even though there are islands off the coast of the EU territory and outside of it, some of these (alot) do require passports and visa checks. The UK and Ireland require passports and visas even though they are EU members. And some other surrounding countries require documentation although not passports or visas.

EU travel freedom and restrictions are mostly governed by the Schengen Agreement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia areas.

The Schengen Area is a group of 26 European countries that have abolished passport and immigration controls at their common borders. It functions as a single country for international travel purposes, with a common visa policy.

Twenty-two of the European Union (EU) member states and the four European Free Trade Association (EFTA) member states participate in the Schengen Area.

Of the five EU members that do not form part of the Schengen Area, three – Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania – are legally obliged to join the area, while the other two – Ireland and the United Kingdom – maintain opt-outs.

Four non-members of the EU, but members of EFTA – Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland – participate in the Schengen Area while three European microstates – Monaco, San Marino, and the Vatican – can be considered as de facto parts of the Schengen Area as they do not have border controls with the Schengen countries that surround them.

I did find this interesting - especially regarding minors...
According to the Schengen rules, hotels and other types of commercial accommodation must register all foreign citizens, including citizens of other Schengen states, by requiring the completion of a registration form by their own hand. This does not apply to accompanying spouses and minor children or members of travel groups.

If they were getting commercial accommodation, a minor does not fill out a form - which means in a way they are invisible on the records or any checking mechanisms.

Map 1 - I have included a map below taken from wiki of the areas of travel
Map 2 - additionally shows the islands owned by EU countries, but you need a passport/visa to enter.

The church bells are ringing here in Germany, and there will be a lot of people who love and miss you praying that you are okay this morning. I hope you come home soon, sweetie. You have a long, happy life ahead of you and I am sure there will be lots of help and support for you now, when you come home.

From the FB Blog...Monika's blog page:

(Google Translation) Extract below:
In the background, a nearly 30-person team working on a dream - The dream of Maria as soon as possible to discover and bring her home to her mother, almost 30 people who have never met her in real life. People in this group: Please-find-Maria - people who for 6 weeks, tirelessly every second sacrifice their leisure to examine ideas from the group, whether they are feasible if they are, they almost 30 men and women put all to create the wheels in motion for another glimmer of hope on which Monika can cling to draw water power. - To be able to hold
. Zig thousands of emails were sent, hundreds of phone calls were made to bring us closer to the goal of a piece of
the DREAM TEAM has hundreds asked printers to organize the so coveted flyers, which then actually free to our search print many printers, because money is not one available.
Many thanks to the generous Flyers donors!
At this point I would like to sincerely thank each of our dream team !

The teams of people behind the screen and the many thousands of people who are placing posters are doing an awesome job on the FB page and their own social networks making sure that Maria's name out in the public arena - and letting her know she is loved and looked out for and people really care about her.
Its awesome to see.

Look at someone today and see if that someone is Maria.

FigTree, I can't find any mention of Maria on the local: http://www.thelocal.de/

I wish it was, because that would really help get the word amongst English-speakers too, in different countries. Have you seen anything there?
