The skeletal remains of at least eight murder victims found on a remote stretch of New York beach are the work of three and possibly four separate killers, prosecutors said today.

"It is clear that the area in and around Gilgo Beach has been used to discard human remains for some period of time," Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said. "As distasteful and disturbing as that is, there is no evidence that all of these remains are the work of a single killer."

The deaths of Valerie Mack and Jessica Taylor are probably linked imo. Valerie was seen last near Atlantic city in Spring 2000.

As I understand it, the OP is saying: (his, a man's opinion)- if a criminal attacks a prison officer, they fight back 3x as hard and "punish" 3 inmates- possibly the LISK was cheated by one SW so took out 3 or 4 SWs in retribution. (as I understand it)

I agree. Her mugshot photo always weighed heavy on my heart, she looked like she had been through too much at such a young age. She looked so defeated and sad and it broke my heart.

I honestly didn't know if there WAS another photo of her, since it was the only one I'd ever seen, and that made me very sad. I'm glad there is at least one of her like this.

Interesting way of pronouncing vowels, very uneven. I’d expect a New Yorker to form them more frontally, and at times, RH does it. But when there is an R following an A, like in “department” or “architect”, he forms the vowels much deeper in the mouth, almost like Brits would do. Other words with A followed by R he pronounces like a New Yorker. His lisp is less peculiar than these vowels alternating between frontal and glottal. It is almost like he mixes two accents.

He has a very typical Long Island accent which is slightly different from an Ny accent (re Brooklyn, Bronx, etc)

Funny you brought that up. I just asked my husband about the duck blind usage. First thing he told me, was yeah, but we used it when we went deer hunting to make blinds and for for target practice making shooting stands.

The sheriff of Suffolk County, N.Y. says more women sex workers have come forward claiming they've had contact with Gilgo Beach murders suspect Rex Heuermann, CBS New York reports.

Sheriff Errol D. Toulon Jr. told the station, "My staff is really going to vet these additional females to see if they actually did come in contact with him and then see what that contact was and see if that can lead us in any other possible direction."

Toulon said Heuermann can now get recreation time alone, make phone calls and receive mail behind bars.

Wednesday marked 20 years since the headless and handless body of Jessica Taylor, a 20-year-old escort working out of New York City, was discovered in the woods of Manorville, Long Island.

She was the second victim of an unknown killer to be found brutally dismembered and tied up. Valerie Mack, a sex worker from New Jersey and Philadelphia, was similarly found dead in 2000.

“Their leg area was bound in a ball,” one former investigator told PIX11 News. “You’d have to be a hunter to do something like that.”

When PIX11 asked another law enforcement source about Bittrolff and the Manorville victims connected to Gilgo, we received this response: “We’re looking at him very closely, but we’re not ruling out Heuermann.”
