Yes you did hear that right but in the Q&A (1:06:50 in YT video) he states Sandra only so I believe he misspoke.

Victoria should sue him for defamation…disgusting accusations against an innocent child at that time. The authorities have stated that Shannon was not murdered and is a victim of accidental drowning. John Ray, imo, is using her family to make a name for himself.

Are they going to sue the unrelated makers of all of the documentaries, the writers of all of the books written and to be written, the tv channels that broadcast news and information, the makers of podcasts and websites that discuss the murders, i.e., all non related entities that profit from the crimes? Heuermann’s ex-wife and daughter have every right to share their stories and to earn money, if everyone else in the world is equally able, save for the perpetrator himself. They are victims too, while in a different way from the women;s families, but victims nonetheless.

Can someone ELI5 what benefit Rex gets from the deal, aside from just avoiding trial? The state saves money by not having to prosecute, I get that, but what does he get out of having three LWOP sentences and not eight?

Just tossing out thoughts.....first I have is how difficult to seat a jury : I know three people who worked with him at Jones Beach (that shared much with me !!!) so that lessens the jury pool along with schoolmates, college classmates and neighbors....factor in people admitting honestly they haven't heard about this case or did a google search or two on Gilgo Beach.....these may have been questions in a survey to prospective jurors ......just a couple of cawfeee beans of thought.......I do not believe it's any measure an altruistic gesture on RH's behalf....his motives are too selfish.....and he can attempt to control info in his FBI interviews....Lord help me I'm thinking of a few scenes from Silence of the Lambs !

I'm rewatching the PC. At 30:11 in the recording of the livestream on the suffolk county youtube, Tierney thanks the Secret Service for their help matching a piece of paper towel found at the site where Megan Waterman was found with a "memento" matching piece at the Heuermann residence. He said it "would have been a key piece of evidence". I'm trying to remember if this was ever mentioned before? I also don't think there were many other mentions of evidence that would have featured in the trial.

I also think RH was running out of money to pay his devoted attorney and was encouraged to think about pleading guilty. Lawyer saw the writing on the wall that funds were dwindling. MOO

I was under the impression that official LE authorities confirmed that RH's family members were confirmed to be out of town/country and not involved in any way with any of the murders. Has evidence emerged to change this ruling-out-of-involvement of them (it's been a very long while since I've posted in this thread)??

If the family were not involved/aware then they are victims too are they not? It may not be pretty as this is a serial killing case, but there's plenty of precedence out there for victims legally making money off the selling and telling of their stories (shout out to Netflix, Hollywood et al). It would be quite the court precedent to see a jury deciding that victims cannot sell their stories. Or is that just applicable victims who happen to be the family members of the perp? Even if unknowingly and legally "not involved in the perpetration of the crimes"?

RH, on the other hand, as the offender I think there's precedence that he cannot legally do so IIRC.

I'm hoping that now that RH has pled guilty that Netflix - or whoever - picks up the mantle of telling the stories of the victims' families and those left behind. Those families are also free to tell their stories if they should wish/want to.

Exactly! The ex wife, daughter and step son were confirmed away, in Iceland, Atlantic City, etc during the murders. The daughter was also a literal child for much of the time of his murderous activities. They are indeed also victims of this horrible murderer, certainly in a different way from the families of the murdered women, but victims nonetheless. People are mad but are taking their anger out on innocent parties, not solely on the man who caused all of this grief. They should be allowed to tell their stories, just as the daughter of BTK did, as a cautionary tale. They need to sustain themselves as well. The ex wife has been battling breast and skin cancer, has a developmentally disabled son and a shell shocked daughter.

RH didn't pay for Michael Brown.

Brown is being paid by tax dollars through the Suffolk County and New York State-funded assigned counsel program.
