I get what you're saying but paying over half a million just for the property seems like a dicey investment to me.
It's still a congested neighborhood with small plots of land and no views and Massapequa Park's building ordinances will limit the height and size of the new construction.
Plus it will still permeate bad juju.

Maybe AE will luck out and there's a buyer out there who's attracted to serial killer's hell-hole torture houses and will scoop it up.
imo
Reminds me of the fox hollow murders where someone paid for the killers marble bathroom handles from his home. The new owner was looking for marble handles and found them listed as being from on the serial killers house.. Thats what the Netflix documentary showed anyway..

Wish Rex would’ve confessed to Asian Doe… it seems so likely that he did it. I wish there was some way to compel him to say what he knew about the Doe, what town or where in the city he picked them up, if they said anything about themselves, what name they used etc. but I know it’s moot to expect Rex to finally have decency… and we know he’d shirk at admitting that he targeted someone that was biologically male too.

Happy the victims' families get closure but sad so many victims suffered due to this brute, they all deserved better.

As I'm sure others have said - disappointed that he wasn't forced to allocute to the murders of Asian Doe and Peaches. Perhaps he refused to confess to those because they don't fit his victim profile and/or he's not linked by DNA... though there's also a (slim) possibility that he didn't commit those.

Edit: it sounds like his cooperation with the FBI is a big component of the plea agreement. So hopefully there will be many more answers (and even new victims) revealed.

Sorry, that's not true. You'll need to provide a link to a legit news source.

He did not implicate Heuermanns daughter in anything

wait up, wait up...I don't know if it was straight up implication but he pretty much did draw Vicky into the case...he presented her artwork and her google searches which caused some degree of consideration and speculation to everyone who watched it.

at the least he implied some level of exposure or complicity. mOO

This is the scary part. In the upcoming Civil suit information will come out. Some we want to hear. Some we don't want to hear.

Also this could be the tip of the iceberg. Benjamin Torres could be the tipping point for other family members of other victims to do the same.

It wouldn't surprise me. They all want answers to what happened to their loved ones.

I think you are right. He really smirked alot.

I admit that I spoke without knowing the justice system in the US very well, but I sincerely hope that, regardless of how the legal process goes, he will be the first to want to talk to one or the other.
The facts and evidence will then testify, when and to what extent, what he says...

I wonder if there was something in the deal he considered a major win. Or something he felt he had pulled over on the court. There is something, somewhere - IMO. I hope his ego will lead to him spilling everything sometime just to have the last laugh - just to demonstrate his superiority.

Peaches has been identified and her killer has been arrested:

Several of us agree with you. It really bothers me him lumping in Karen Vertaga. He's no dummy. He is fully aware of Lorraine 's affidavit regarding himself and Asa, his wife at the time.

I'm guessing, this plea allows him to take ownership of the crimes on his own terms, potentially avoiding the embarrassment and public exposure of a long, detailed trial that would scrutinize his personal life, home, and family. That alone would be enough to smirk about. I really think that he thinks this is a win for him. 😏

I’m late to the party and I apologize if this has already been discussed, but are RH and Asa still married or did she divorce him?

And does anyone think that there could be more victims?

TIA,
GN

Yes they are divorced. However, I think she still called him her hero. 🥴

Oh yes I'm sure there are more victims.

Thank you for the quick response! If there are more victims (and I agree that there are) maybe that’s why he’s smirking. Because he really does think that he got away with murder.

Yep, definitely more victims imo... I also think they're continuing to work on identifying Asian Doe and Cherries Doe to help determine if they could be victims of Rex, and a few other Long Island Does as well. And who knows if he killed in other places too. Hopefully CODIS will reveal if he did...

They identified Peaches and her toddler along with who killed them. Asian Doe I can't speak for, but Peaches was not one of RH's

We will never know how long RH tortured them before the strangulation.

Who was giving him an edgy buzz cut? I wonder if he requested that he wanted his hair shaved above his ears. He isn’t 16 and it looks ridiculous. View attachment 657937
He always asks for it to be cut that way. Husband is corrections where he is currently detained.

Thanks, I'd missed that update. Baby Doe and Valerie Mack were discovered literally feet apart from each other, that's a truly wild coincidence if they were buried next to each other by separate killers.

he looks so proud of himself - is it possible he actually believes he's done the right thing here, that he should be admired somehow for pleading out? or is he just proud of himself for getting away with it for so long, and maybe takes pleasure that he is going to be 'studied'

🤮🤬
I agree thats the impression I get, confidently nodding “yes your honor” It feels like he thinks hes a a celebrity ( hate to use that word, maybe notorious is better.) and is doing society a favour by cooperating with the BAU. Giving up his secrets but still being in control. He has an Ego, and 30 yrs of not being caught probably even inflated it more.
What else is the pay off for him? Sparing his family details? I dont believe it’s about sparing the victims families. Rh called some of them after, asked one sister “ are you a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 like your sister” You think he is going to be sensitive to the victims families now, just cause we know who he is.
