1901 – First Transatlantic Radio Signal
Guglielmo Marconi successfully transmitted the first radio signal across the Atlantic Ocean—a breakthrough that changed global communication forever.
Can you imagine how magical and unbelievable that must of been. Heck I don't understand radio waves today. I can't imagine being in the group that heard this first signal and trying to understand it all.
1964 – Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Airs
The stop-motion holiday classic premiered on NBC and went on to become one of the most beloved Christmas specials of all time.
Do any of you remember the stop-motion
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer special? It made me a complete nervous wreck.
I was little, but I already understood how stop-motion animation worked—and that knowledge absolutely ruined me. All I could think about was how long it must have taken to move everything
one tiny bit at a time. My brother and I once tried to make our own stop-motion movie with toy dinosaurs, and it took us forever just to get them to walk a few steps.
So when I watched
Rudolph after that, instead of enjoying it, I sat there stressed out, mentally calculating the endless hours behind every single scene. At six years old.
Yes, I was weird.
Still am.
What stressed
you out as a kid?
