Hand wringing averted.
The rinse and spin worked fine.

I believe we are related.
Family Christmas issues.
Washington machine making atrocious noises--I shut the door and turn up the radio. I'm hoping to get a few more loads out of it before I call for repair/ditch it.
I'm almost glad I work tomorrow.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
FRIDAY DECEMBER 26TH 2025

🎁 Boxing Day
Celebrated in the UK and many Commonwealth countries, Boxing Day originally involved giving “Christmas boxes” (money or gifts) to workers and the poor. Today? Massive sales, sports, and everyone still in pajamas.

26 December

Christmas 🎄

In all churches in Poland
you can admire beautiful, unique Nativity Scenes.
Their unveiling takes place during Pasterka Midnight Mass,
celebrated on December 24-25.

I did feel content but now realise that I probably need a new washing machine

It seems however much I rearrange the load, the machine sees it as unbalanced.

I'll add it to the list of appliances that are failing.

Sandwich maker, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't
Kettle similar thing but I gave it the Whack Whack method and it worked for a couple of months longer.
I gave it a good talking to as well, told it that if if wasn't fixed by this morning it's for the bin.
Did not work. Then another go at the Whack Whack, nothing.

I don't need a new kettle though as I always buy a spare one of ones I like so now I'm using the brand new spare.

So even though I don't need a new kettle, I will buy one for a spare

And a new laptop for just in case.

Anyway it looks like this load of washing I might have to end up wringing out by hand.
I'm going to try all the menu ones and see if one of them might still work for the spinning part.

It is the nature of things
to get broken with "wear and tear"
(sometimes with our "help" by not reading instructions how to properly use them hehe ;)).
We can repair them or buy new ones.

But...
the most important thing is
NOT to let ourselves get broken.
Because we are NOT replaceable.

Enjoy Life.
Cherish even the tiniest thing that brings you pleasure.

Don't pay attention to those who are unkind.
Their hurtful words or acts
give testimony to THEIR character, THEIR nature/personality.
NEVER you.

Just shrug, smile and march forward without looking back.

:)

Hee hee :)

I always look after everything I own whether it's something small, like a cup or a knife and fork
I put a lot of thought into treating all I own in a gentle thoughtful way.
Yes it may take longer but it makes your belongings last a lot longer.

I treasure everything I own.

My last washing machine lasted 36 years
My last fridge lasted 37 years.
Other appliances lasted almost as long.

Thie washing machine is 15 or 16 years old. They don't last as long as they once did.

I always read the manual and also use my commonsense

User error on my part is Nil

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

Something from the very mixed basket of trivial knowledge that is known as my brain :)

Who knows why something pops into our heads sometimes.

Just like I thought.
Shoppers here in Australia say that Aldi put their Easter hot cross buns in stores today.

I don't think pyjamas are part of the Boxing day tradition in Australia, or at least I've never heard of it.

We don't have Boxing Day here. We celebrate St Stephen's Day on the 26th, also called Lá an Dreoilín (Wren's Day). No pyjamas and the traditional costume looks more like this (these are Mummers or Wren Boys).

The same in Poland.

But it is called Saint SZCZEPAN Day -
to commemorate the first Christian Martyr.

The names Szczepan and Stefan (Stephen)
are forms of the Greek name Stéphanos.

(
Στέφανος, Stefanos)
It comes from the word meaning the sign of victory - στέφανος - "wreath" or "crown".

Oops I read Tricia's post again, re Boxing Day and I now realise I misunderstood.
The part about pyjamas wasn't about Boxing Day traditions.

It was about the day after Christmas day when a lot of us are still in our sleepwear, pyjamas etc, when we're recovering from the feast and festivities :)

Sowwy.

Re opening the foil on pill packets, I've just bought a little gadget on eBay that pops the foil open, it is attached to a little container that catches the pills.

My finger is still hurting from the foil cut. Not so stingy as it was though when I wash my hands.
