I imagine they have told her from the get go that there is a 99.9% chance she is going to be convicted.

She should have tried to plea at the first once she knew all the evidence against her.

Agreed. I think she believes she's too smart and/or beyond reproach, above the law, etc. In other words, I don't think she believes she'll be convicted. So if there's a plea, then the DT had to really talk her into it. Again, I don't see it happening that easily...

How hard is it to see that the text messages that the defense team got TWO YEARS AGO could not be given to them THREE years ago because the technology did not exist?

I absolutely agree, Justme. But we're dealing with a psychopath here - who thought (IMHO) going into court and seeing what her options are was a chance she would be willing to take. A chance she may still be willing to take.

Personally, I don't think her attorney's will let her take a plea without sleeping on it (and the prosecution too). This could be all about nothing, or something big.

I just wish they would put us all out of our misery and sentence this woman asap. I see absolutely nothing that shows self defense -- even though I realize the defense hasn't presented their CIF yet. They certainly don't have much to say now on cross.

All I see are huge buckets of premeditation, and nothing that's gonna get her less than lwop.

Just my opinion of course!

I have a different view than many of the people on here but I do think she's guilty and I don't think you can do anything to counter the premeditated evidence.

it might just be the judge telling them to cool off after all the disrespect between lawyers.

If this is declared a mistrial, it will have to be redone, right? What more can the defense gain with more time to work on this case?

Yes, Martinez will file charges again ASAP!

OMG... During interrogation, when she's offered to view the photos of Travis, Jodi says part of her doesn't want to see pic, the other part does. She admits to the detective "there's a morbid curiosity."

Sick. I *knew* she was liking seeing these bloody crime scene photos in court.

Jane Valdez said they were degrading, not you... And I'm not saying they were art, I'm saying they were not SEX pics. They are nude pics, nothing more, nothing less. And not degrading either.

YOUR opinion bobloblaw. Others may see them as sex pics. That is ALL I am trying to say. Photos are subjective as are many other things. I don't see them as degrading since I don't think that there is anything more degrading about Jodi Arias than what she did to Travis. However, others will see them as degrading. Yes, they are nude photos. But, a close up of a vagina can be more than just a nude photo to many people. It's all in a persons perception and how they look at it.

well the judge apparently has other cases that she is working on not to mention the issues that the defense has with prosecutorial misconduct..

I am not sure why they are not live but maybe they don't want to show the judge ruling on her other non related cases this go round?

(my comment: this is a death penalty trial! One judge should be dedicated and focused on this trial alone... sorry rant over)

That would most certainly be up to the pros. and the family. And the DP is not a plea IMHO. A plea would only be something less than the DP, such as lwop. I personally don't think the family would take anything less.

If the pros (and family said DP only) then my guess is the trial would proceed to see if the jury recommended lwop.

My take on the degrading versus normal versus sex pics.

Nude pics that I would consider not degrading are Playboy-like.

The pictures of JA that I consider degrading are more Hustler-like.

So I do think the close up shots of gaping wide dilated and swollen lady parts is degrading/objectifying.

the shot of her lying nude legs closed is not.

And no, not everyone does it missionary and people do engage in anal sex, but to photograph the "result" of that penetration is way more hard core than just a normal couple taking nude pics.

I think it shows that JA could not make the connection that TA preferred her for sex but not for a relationship and she kept using sex to try and snag him. I think she figured if she was like a porn star in the bedroom and still went to Temple etc. that she would be perfect for him because he seemed to like the variety of sex she provided.
