Early on Jodi called LE in Mesa and told them they needed to look at TA's roommate. That may be why there are questions about the fingerprints of the roommate. That juror may feel she will attempt to accuse the roommate of helping her and they want to know now from those experts if they found anything. Just a guess. I never knew JA was pointing a finger at his roommates. jmo

Hi all! Long time reader...first time poster. First off...thank you for this amazing site. Its awesome being able to read up on trial when you miss a few mins here and there. After CA trial everyone thinks I'm coo coo so I really have to hide my trial addictions...lol. Especially during work hours! Anyone know how to minimize screen from keyboard? LOL...my mouse click is way too loud and obvious and I think my boss is on to me.

Hi WS, first post here. I'm surprised that the State rested.

I don't think JA was invited over. I wish the state pursued this topic. Why couldn't they have acquired screen captures of relevant text messages? Like, absence of any communication that Jodi was coming over that tragic day. Other activity/texts of TA's showing that he was not expecting company. I imagine there were texts from Travis/Jodi over the tires being slashed and probably texts that showed JA's obsessive nature. Same for emails.

Well, according to the 48 Hours show, she said she would testify when it goes to trial.

Which is a lie....

I dont think she's got the guts to get on the stand. She would have to answer questions truthfully. I honestly dont think shes capable of doing that at all.

We never saw any text messages . . . . I guess I expected to see some of those 82K . . .. maybe it was because the technology didn't exist to obtain them until 2010?

An e-mail message from a detective in the Baltimore County Police Department, leaked by Antisec and reproduced in a Wired article last year, says that Verizon keeps "text message content on their servers for 3-5 days." And: "Sprint stores their text message content going back 12 days and Nextel content for 7 days. AT&T/Cingular do not preserve content at all. Us Cellular: 3-5 days Boost Mobile LLC: 7 days"

It's true that abuse victims often do not talk about being abused even to their good friends. But I think it's pretty obvious, Jodi was never abused in domestic violence by Travis. The sense is she shamelessly chased this young man and made his life miserable as he tried to get her out of his life. Jodi didn't talk about abuse because Travis never abused her. JMO

After thinking about it, it makes so much sense that the prosecution put on a bare-bones case. Martinez didn't have to prove that Jodi killed Travis, Ms. Willmott, in her opening stated that there was no doubt about who killed him. It was Jodi Arias. The only question was why she was "forced" to kill him. She then went on to outline the types of abuse Jodi suffered at the hands of Travis Alexander.

Martinez was mainly showing premeditation and Jodi's character. The videos told his whole story. Jodi Arias is not to be believed. Why burden the jury with all the details when he doesn't absolutely have to.

In spite of Nurmi's comment about a changing theory of the case, he really can't. Ms. Willmott's opening wasn't testimony, but it did set the scene for the defense case.

As for putting on no defense case, I don't see that happening here. Nurmi managed to elicit a few scraps he could use to claim Travis abused Jodi, but it's nowhere near enough.

He has to get his expert on here. He has to have some sort of independent verification of abuse. As of now, Jodi is a total liar. Anything she would testify to would be self-serving. She can say all she wants of abuse and how she told nobody about it, but that's where Martinez comes in.

He will rip her to shreds should she testify. As Martinez showed with the last witness, Jodi's "best acquaintances" were never told stories of abuse. I'd bet they weren't told stories of abuse because there wasn't any on Travis part, anyway.

Then, Martinez has a wide-open playing field to rebut whatever the defense puts out there. He has probably saved some of his very best witnesses for last.

Perhaps we could have a thread for the "Interlude" in the trial until the 28th?

I'm inclined to think she has no choice but to testify. But you never know maybe she doesn't. There's only one way to get in the self defense theory in the door and that's through Jodi. Unless if they plan to only call her family to testify that Travis was abusive.

No kidding. Part of what makes this case and this murderer so macabrely (made that up) fascinating is the dichotomy of her soft demeanor/voice/appearance and the apparent seething violence inside. That's just terrifying really.

According to my contact there, "This is a major update of the show reflecting the trial starting, etc."

On background, to why it was taken offline, "typically past episodes being rebroadcast or updated are pulled prior to being aired again." Translation: they want all the ratings they can get.
