Again I'm flying my freak flag here, but um say I was JHole, I had access to Travis' email account. Either had the password, or got lucky and found his computer with an open window logged into email. The first thing I'd do is go to myspace, use the "forgot password" function. Why? Because myspace would then EMAIL the password itself to Travis' email account. Not a reset link, the actual password. That would be like a pot of gold. So bam, you open the email, see his super secret password. Delete the email. Now Travis has no way of knowing the JHole knows his password to Myspace. Which is most likely ALSO the password to said email account, Facebook account, etc.

This is how I believe she got his passwords. hacking involved programming language / a terminal/ or a script. Jodi cannot "hack"

She most likely got his passwords another way which again is NOT hacking.

Any interesting new updates? Came on to try to catch up and two entire new threads have been made since I've been away! Sheesh!

Well, the camera may be off by more than an hour. When the prosecution is trying to paint a picture of premeditation, and then that she was checking voicemails after he was killed, the timings do matter a ton. If the clock on the camera was set improperly, and he was really killed after the phone calls, that could sway things differently.

I suspect this is why the defense wants the camera analyzed now.

I don't understand why they didn't address this yesterday. They should have asked the tech more about the settings on the camera. Personally, I was interested to know what the settings were when the tech turned it on the first time. He said it was working (with the exception of the loose shutter button).

The camera the defense asked to see today is not the same camera. They want to analyze Jodi's camera. Yesterday, that was Travis' camera.

I wonder if the defense wanted to ask the pros to plead this out for LWOP but Jodi wanted to roll the dice. Do you think the pros would have offered LWOP

This is false. All cameras do not automatically account for DST. There is an option you can turn on/off to account for DST, but it is a manual option that only removes an hour from the time when turned on, and adds an hour when turned off. You can check the documentation for Sony Cybershots (the same model of camera), if you wish. This is pretty standard on all cameras, because it doesn't know what time zone you're in or if your region recognizes DST or not.

Exactly, but some default to DST. I had a Sony as well, and lived in AZ - it would be off by an hour in the summer if I did not correct it. Also the camera may have been set to a different timezone - if perhaps received in that other timezone. The exact hour on the camera is fuzzy without additional evidence.... Well, so is the min - but minutes in most timezones are the same.

After reading some of the posts here, I have to ask. Does anyone think it was self defense?

They're only asking to have it analyzed now? It's been years. What have the DT been doing all this time? Sheesh. Now that Jodie's admitted to killing him, has she raised any hint that she didn't kill him on the date in question? Or is that something we'd have to wait for the defense's turn?

Ok, next mystery abbreviation: CE?

I'll be honest, I am using this case to tell my 20 something boys how not to treat a woman, for fear that one who would engage with them in this way would be one more likely to become unhinged, and to look for the signs that women are generally taught to look for, but not young men.

I tend for my girls. But alas they think they know more than me:what:

I think it's way too late for that.

I'll be fair and wait for the defense to present it, but I'm having trouble imagining the convincing me.

Nope, I do not think it was self defense in the least.

Trying to connect the desire to have Jodi's Sony camera checked by DT's people??

I believe I read that the camera was really damaged by the water, and so it's possible they can't read what time the camera was set at. It will be up to the Defense, I think, to raise suspicions about the veracity of the camera times. However, I'm wondering if it's really relevant? She's admitted to killing him, so the only really intersting part is the separation in time between the sex pictures, the shower pictures, and the death pictures, so would it really matter if the camera was perfectly accurate or one hour off?

Agreed :-)

I don't think it was self defense; but I am still not there with premeditation. Still weighing evidence.

You'll be behind. In Session cuts off at 3pm EST which is only after about 2 hours of testimony, and then they catch up the next morning.
