***GRAPHIC*** The Missing Head

I also want to know from where/whom the tip came. Obviously, it was spot on. From someone who knows the minute details of what happened.:maddening:

---------------

ETA: I have Radio Canada on and they also are referring to it as "human remains". I think news outlets are saying it this way in order to be a tad delicate. This case is gruesome and horrific enough.:jail:

I'm shocked, this whole case is so shocking!!!

Shocked? Really? How many bodies in Montreal are missing heads? The way the LE reported that the finding of the head was based on the investigation and not a passerby made it all the more likely it was JL. I'm not shocked at all. I would have been shocked if it wasn't him.

Mostly I am happy for his family that they will be able to return with all of JL. I don't believe in "closure" when it comes to this sort of thing but at least it will be one less painful piece they have to wonder/worry about.

So how did LE find Lin Jun's head? If Luka revealed where it was, isn't he pretty much admitting his guilt? or will he pass that off to Manny/someone else? If a person walking their dog found the head, I would expect that to be info OK for the public to know and wouldn't hurt the investigation. I'm SOOOOO curious to know how LE found it.

I'm really curious too. LE made it sound like the information came from a tip, which I find odd. I also find it surprising that a human head could sit in a public, dog friendly park for 6 weeks (with some majorly hot weather!) without being noticed.

It's not that I thought the head would belong to someone else! I'm shocked it has been found, it is huge news, and i'm shocked that LM just left the head in the park after reading so many ideas of where it could be from sleuthers here ... nobody seemed to guess it could be in the park just down the road from where he lived :what:

It really is shocking that he didn't do something more
dramatic with it for the sake of traumatizing the public.
Maybe he thought the forestry in the park
would slow down discovery long enough to
considerably slow ID.

I guess we now turn the discussion over to where the tip came from.

- HIM?????????????????? (No way).

- his lawyer (No way).

- an accomplice (Possible).

How long was it there, in the Park? Isn't it interesting that ANOTHER major holiday (The Fourth Of July in the USA) is now tainted by him and his doings?

I think the body part was placed there recently. I have NO IDEA why I think that.

Yes, I also thought it would turn up in the mail or Fed Ex or UPS, whatever. To someone in Government, possibly in France, the UK or wherever.

i have a morbid question, what happened to the arms and legs? were those left in the apartment? were they recovered in the garbage? i didn't seem to read anything on those...sorry for asking such a gruesome question...

I read in some of the news articles that some body parts were recovered from the dumpster... I'm guessing maybe it was the legs and arms?

Surely there is not an accomplice??? I will fall off my chair!!!

I also thought of it being 4th July, but could LM have foreseen it would only take upto 2 days for ID.

My theories:

-Possible interrogation by LE and LM gave them the info.
-It was a passer-by who spotted it and notified police.
-Investigators somehow found the parc by going through LM's computer

My theories:

-Possible interrogation by LE and LM gave them the info. But this would make him guilty and he pled not guilty!
-It was a passer-by who spotted it and notified police.I feel it wasn't a passerby. I feel that LE got a real tip from *someone*.
-Investigators somehow found the parc by going through LM's computerSorry, but I also don't think this to be it. I just have this niggling feeling that it was a person, delivering/phoning/etc the info.

My thoughts are within the quote in colour.

And to the posts which say we are not to be "shocked" by these developments......please note that "I'm shocked" is merely a phrase meant to say........'How much worse can it get'.

I'm also 'shocked' by this monster's doings. :what:

Oh, and if there's an accomplice I will also 'fall off my chair'. That doesn't mean that I'll really land on the floor!! ;)

I think it was probably him! But I think it was an anonymous tip or clue by him, set up earlier to be sent for the holiday (Canada Day). The anonymous part keeps his court case intact.

Lin's head was the only remaining missing body part until Sunday, when Lemieux said investigators found it in Park Angrignon after the major crimes unit received a tip. The park is a few miles (kilometers) south of Magnotta's apartment.
"It had been there for quite some time, but we won't go into details, partly out of respect for the family and friends of the victim," said Lemieux.
"What is important is what we were looking for has been found and the rest of the investigation can continue."
The head was there for some time. I was thinking it was placed there more recently. Hmmmm.

I'm thinking you could be right about that.

I'm still inclined to think that the head was reserved for proof or something. Perhaps he left it exactly where it was so that another could come along and confirm.

Y'all are trying to figure this out with logic and reason, and with normal minds. I still say that some crazy plot is going to come into light during the trial. Given Luka's sensationalist thinking I feel it's reasonable to believe that he intentionally got himself into something really shady and huge that will blow up later in the media and be his claim to fame. Think about it - something big enough to make it worth spending the rest of his life behind bars. Face it - he didn't have much to lose anyway. I don't think for a second that any of this is "personal" on his part.

I wouldn't entirely rule out the possibility that LRM's legal team provided the info to LE via an anonymous tip.

Since the Bernardo/Holmolka debacle-- where a lawyer had knowledge of evidence of the crimes but did not inform police-- law societies across Canada clarified ethical obligations for lawyers. Often the "compromise" recommended is that if a client discloses to his lawyer evidence, or information about such evidence, the lawyer should disclose it to police through anonymous means. This allows the lawyer to discharge his/her duty not to obstruct justice (police get the evidence), but to also protect his/her client (via anonymity).

maybe he wanted to but ran out of time when he found out he was being hunted....

or maybe he hoped kids would find it.....

or maybe we just put too much thought into the whys of his actions....

*shrug*

I'm really glad the head was found, finally some closure to the victim's family... now they can at least bury their son properly. I'm surprised where it was located because, well... I was expecting he would follow the Hannibal Lecter - silence of the lambs, movie script. But i understand that this option would demand commitment and I don't think LM would be willing to pay for any storage place. Now if we only could find more about who gave the tip... I dunno, I think it is very interesting that they found out exactly on a national holiday.
