GUILTY Greece - Caroline Crouch, 20, British, tortured and murdered, Athens, 11 May 2021 *Appeal filed 2023* #5

I found this on Twitter today but I have since realised it is old news written on 3 Jul 2021

"Greek police fear that Brit mum Caroline Crouch's husband killed her after she found out he was using his helicopter to smuggle drugs for cartels.

Investigators are now scrutinising his finances after suspicions were raised about how he managed to fund his lavish lifestyle.

The couple had recently been on a luxury holiday to Dubai and bought a £147,000 dream home in Greece that officers believe may have been paid for through drug smuggling.

"The way she was murdered suggests she was physically and symbolically shut up," they said.

Caroline’s dad David Crouch told the paper that his daughter had "a strong sense of right and wrong" and would have threatened to leave her husband if she discovered he was involved in drugs.

He said that he believed there was "some foundation" to rumours in the local press that the pilot was linked to drug cartels.

After lying to the police for weeks, Anagnostopoulos apologised for smothering his wife to death with a pillow, claiming he "lost his temper."

But he is likely to argue that his wife was being "verbally and physically aggressive towards him", according to local reports."

Maybe this was what B was doing on Sundays when C did not know what he was doing. But we are still waiting for his financials so until they do, this is still a theory. Also, we had been told that both parents had contributed to the cost of their dream home. I wonder what is true?

It all happened during the peak of pandemic.
Is it really possible that he could fly with drugs whenever he wanted? I doubt it.
Their marriage was a complete disaster - I think the murder was not pre-planned. In my opinion, it happened at the spur of the moment, after a one too many bitter argument.
But, of course, it is only my theory.

Glyka Nera: Babis Anagnostopoulos regrets - The attitude that raises questions

Babis Anagnostopoulos, who killed his 20-year-old wife at their house in Glyka Nera, in front of the eyes of their one-year-old child, now regrets his heinous act.

This attitude of the 33-year-old woman killer raises suspicions, with most people wondering if he has sincerely regretted it or if he wants to win relief.

"It is an indisputable fact that an accused in prison, even a brutal murderer, because we have a life here, do not think that he really regrets what he did. In the majority, at least in my experience, what they are interested in is a milder criminal treatment. The accused is trying to succeed in recognizing it as mitigating, these are verbal repentances ", said the lawyer Michalis Dimitrakopoulos.

At the same time, he added that the decision for the final custody of little Lydia will be guided by the child, while the law provides for communication between father and child, even if he is a murderer.

Is B capable of remorse?

Is B capable of remorse?
B is human - every human is capable of remorse.
Except the psychopaths that is.

I disagree with you, Dotta, about this murder not being pre-planned but you can prove me wrong if you like.

Legal definition of premeditation:

To think of an act beforehand; to contrive and design; to plot or lay plans for the execution of a purpose.

Premeditation refers to the decision to plan to commit a crime, generally murder. A premeditated murder is thought out beforehand, but no
specific length of time is needed
for premeditation.

IMO if there is evidence that B tampered with the CCTV in his home, this is an example of pre-planning otherwise why would he do it? The media reported that this was done around midnight - several hours before C's demise.

B waited for C to go to sleep first so that she would not be able to use her kickboxing skills against him and would be an easy target for suffocation. If this crime was not premeditated, C would have been alive, they would have had an argument and B suddenly lashed out ending in C's demise but that was not the case.

I guess you have assumed that this is a crime of passion.

LEGAL DEFINITION: A crime of passion, in popular usage, refers to a violent crime, especially homicide, in which the perpetrator commits the act against someone because of sudden strong impulse such as sudden rage rather than as a premeditated crime.

I don't understand how you can feel a strong sudden impulse such as rage when someone is asleep??? But willing to be proved wrong.

When a murderer shows remorse, I am always suspicious that his remorse is genuine and only claimed to reduce his sentence - especially when he has lied for weeks later and staged the scene afterwards. If it had been a crime of passion and he had genuine remorse, IMO he would have admitted it at the time.

I wrote it some time before - I realize it is premeditated by law.
What I meant is that their constant battles and arguments proved too much for both of them.
And that night was the Rubikon for both of them.
C wanted to leave home and go to the hotel.
B in his sick mind decided to finish it all.

Father Caroline: Lydia's baptism coming soon - Relationships with Anagnostopoulos's parents

" It is our intention to baptize Lydia in the Greek Orthodox Church, as was the case with Caroline, in the small chapel near the cemetery where she is resting, " added Caroline's father.

Two people who were close to Caroline and live in Alonissos will baptize her daughter in order to be by her side throughout her upbringing.

" The duty of the godparents is taken seriously here in Greece. They are expected to take care of Lydia's spiritual well-being and that is why we chose two people, who are likely to stay here in Alonissos throughout its development ", added the father of the undefeated Caroline.

My point is that B did not murder C as soon as she got off the phone from contacting a hotel. He waited for her to go to sleep.

Dear Estelle :) - Im very trusting, some may say too trusting and naive.
But I believe that even the worst monster is capable of human feelings. Simply because he/she is human.
As long as there is life, there is hope for repentance.

IMO his so-called remorse is a little too late.

Covid Couldn't Stop Direct Helicopter's Shipping Business

“While the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues to restrict passenger flying, our cargo operation has never been more important both to our business and in keeping vital global supply chains running,”

https://www.flightglobal.com/flight...the-freight-market-on-its-head/138694.article

Yes, There is no evidence that B was unemployed during the pandemic. Only passenger flights have been restricted. Cargo operations continued and I guess, drugs would be cargo. The helicopter pilot would not need to go into an airport terminal - he would just drop off the cargo (drugs) where he landed and then take off again.

I have to admit you never give up haha
Ok - he might have flown his chopper during the pandemic, I agree.
But I still stick to my theory :)
By the way, if you ever visit the Caroline's island (you wrote once you wanted to), please light a candle at her grave for us WS all.
Or maybe we will meet there as I love Greece and hope to visit it soon.

Maybe I just feel like being the Devil's Advocate today? I have been lurking on other threads and not posting much as there are no POIs and I enjoy speculating which is banned on here.

Yes it would be great if we could meet on the island, Dotta. I probably will not depart from Sydney until June 2022.

And that's when my holidays start!

"Everyone is a tragic person"
"In this drama, all the faces are tragic. With more tragic the dead Caroline. Second is the little Lydia and is followed by all the people of the close environment from all sides. The mother of the 33-year-old pilot is a rare case of a man and a mother. She raised her children while she was in pre-adolescence and adolescence in Alonissos in a correct and peaceful way "

"She is now in the tragic position of the killer's mother. What is this mother to blame? They were not interested in claiming Lydia's custody and for no reason would they want to disturb the peace and quiet of little Lydia. "

A friend of Caroline's family confesses: "The whole island knew his love for Caroline. At first we said he was big for her and we were wary of the age difference. Then we saw how much he is in love and we said that she is lucky to have found this lad "

DBM Does this mean that B's mother was a teenager when she gave birth to B?

I wonder if it could be one of the gender pronoun translation thingies we have seen before and whether it could mean B’s (and his brother’s) childhood/adolescence?

Yes that makes more sense.
