Her plan to open a cat sanctuary on the property doesn't fit with her not wanting to buy the lot.

At face value it doesn't fit. So I'm thinking there could be a number of reasons for this -

1. She had a dream to open a cat sanctuary which didn't relate specifically to this plot of land.
2. She said it when she was in a different frame of mind and her worries about isolation became much larger as the deadline for the contract drew closer.
3. It was suggested to her to entice her, knowing she loved animals, and give her a project to make her feel better and picture a busy life there while B was away. They obviously had discussed the purchase during her therapy sessions and I have questions about them paying a therapist to discuss how rosy Caroline's life was.
4. Someone is possibly saying it now as a misdirection to hide a disagreement.

I once read in Polish press that some lady kept rescue dogs and cats in her house in the country and her neighbours were MAD - they took her to court. The constant barking and howling made their lives a misery. The "shelter" was closed eventually.

I once read in Polish press that some lady kept rescue dogs and cats in her house in the country and her neighbours were MAD - they took her to court. The constant barking and howling made their lives a misery. The "shelter" was closed eventually.

Drafi doesn't sound to me to be all that isolated. It's described as a Western style residential area in the municipality of Rafina-Pikima and is only a 12 minute drive to Rafina, and a 22 minute drive to Athens.

It's apparently the "prototype" for improved quality of life in a green environment, away from the pollution in downtown Athens. It sounds like the perfect place to raise a family.

Do we know anything more about the Georgian suspect who is in custody? Do they not reveal the names of suspects in Greece?

Running an Animal shelter might be honourable and praiseworthy BUT it is a daunting task. You need staff (feeding, cleaning etc), veterinary surgeon, place for animals. Money for workers, food, cleaning supplies etc. Some advertising team searching for sponsors. My local shelter always begs for almost anything: old blankets, bowls, food - whatever. They ask for volunteers.

Thanks! It's no surprise they left the country if they are foreigners. I'm still wondering about the man they arrested at the border. It doesn't say anything about his release.

It's good that the Albanian and Bulgarian officials are assisting in the investigation. This may take a very long time. LE must really be invested in this case since they offered such a huge reward so fast and are doing everything they can to find the suspects. Surveillance footage still may provide some clues. It can take months to analyze all the footage. Cell phone data might yield some clues but I'm guessing they use track phones which makes it harder to trace them. Imo

Yet the Daily Mail article never says who told them that C supposedly wanted a cat sanctuary. Did B say that? Did C tell her mom that?

I consider myself an optimist but you take the 1st prize Who are they be looking for? No DNA, no fingerprints, no sketches - except this generic one provided by B. Many of my male friends look like this, and B also. Besides, if they weren't caught in Greece (in 2018 and 2021) - how can they be found ABROAD now? The case is closed for me sadly.

According to the f/b post linked earlier with the pic of the dog (Roxy), they went as a family to rescue the dog.

At the same time, those suspects who had entered the microscope of the authorities are said not to be identified with the three robbers as so far no evidence has been found to certify their entry into the maisonette on Panagouli Street. Fingerprints, DNA and cell phone markings did not lead anywhere, and no matter how many videos they examined, the vehicle they used to go and escape the possible perpetrators was not found in any of them .

Does this mean no evidence found for entry of any of the suspects/ghosts, or just that the people they suspect are no long POI due to lack of evidence?

This leads to the conclusion that they may have been hit on foot and walked away in order to reach the car that they had left several blocks away in order to avoid the cameras that exist in the area.

Wouldn't they have to know which homes/businesses in the area did/did not have cameras? That seems like a lot of work to figure out for 'several blocks' of walking.

ETA: The vehicle, whether it was a car or motorcycles , was parked on a dirt road away from the maisonette and then boarded and removed from narrow streets that they had previously checked and found to be "blind" .

I disagree with the assertion that some blocks won't have any cameras. Do we know if LE did a sweep of the surrounding blocks to verify that?

Oh, I'm not at all confident this case will be solved anytime soon. Investigations like this take a long time and it's only been a month.

It took a year for an arrest in the Suzanne Morphew case, and LE had only one suspect the whole time.

In the Jayme Closs case, the perp left no DNA evidence behind after he shot both her parents and escaped the crime scene. In fact, officers drove right past his vehicle, with Jayme in the trunk, as they rushed to the scene. Even though they had a good description of the vehicle, and asked for the public's assistance in identifying it, they were never able to locate it.

If the investigation extends to the Balkans then it could be years until the case is solved, as well as the one in 2018. The fact the LE bypassed all other means and immediately went to the Embassy for help tells me they must have solid evidence that points to the Balkans. I was wondering if the suspect they had in custody had anything to do with it.

I'm sure LE would have checked for all the surveillance cameras in the area. Apparently the bike or vehicle was parked on a dirt road away from the home, and then travelled through narrow streets that were found to be blind.

I would expect there to be cameras on main roads or at traffic lights, but not down narrow streets or alleys.

I would think the suspects are still suspects, otherwise they would not enlist the help of other agencies in the Balkans. They just haven't been able to identify them through DNA or other physical evidence. Imo

I really hope you are right I also read somewhere that Police will give some important update tomorrow. Who knows? Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised

I hope they do give an update! But then again, I'm not expecting much. In every case I've followed we all get anxious and hope that it will be good news, but it turns out to be, "We are still following up on tips and will continue to investigate every lead," or something like that.

In that interview he said he had been with the police for the past three days, so it was at least a few days later. Also the reporter said, "Now that it's been a few days and the shock has passed," and he interrupted her and said "The shock has not passed yet."

Reporters aren't known to be very tactful in these situations.
