I think that's all of our (very helpful) Greek speakers, apologies if I've missed others. Please could one of you help with understanding the article in my post above. Many thanks if you can.
"Angeliki Nikolouli revealed that another person (other than B) could be involved in Caroline's murder.
Her show-Fos sto Tounel- has dealt extensively with 20-year old Caroline's murder in Glyka Nera, and after the latest developments, it was decided that it would air another episode, although its curtain had came down last week.
Experienced reporter Angeliki Nikolouli revealed important information she had collected, bringing a twist (ανατροπή) about Babis Anagnostopoulos to light.
"I can make public the conversations I had with the husband. We got a lot of clues, the viewers will understand.", she said.
"It doesn't matter at what point I realized that something was wrong, but how we approached him during the course of this investigation. I was his shadow, we had that contact, and you'll see plenty."
What's most interesting is that Angeliki Nikolouli referred to the possibility of another person, other than confessed killer Babis Anagnostopoulos, being involved in the case.
"I share, with a grain of salt, that there's another person involved in this tragic story, and the authorities are investigating to see if it's true. He (Babis) stated that he doesn't have a accomplice."
During the show, mr Katerinopoulos, who knows a lot (about the case), stated meaningfully that "the case is not over".
"The accomplice may not be inside the house. The accomplice could be elsewhere, could be the moral perpetrator of this crime. I want to believe that there will be others who will be charged".
"There's information that Caroline had found out something about B's circle, and that this was the reason she wanted to break up with him and take the baby with her", stated Angeliki Nikolouli, leaving the possibility of a 3rd person involvement open.
"Which one of them ("them" being the couple) traveleved to Souda and was looking for a house to rent, and why?", added mr Katerinopoulos, proving that he has important information that could possibly overturn everything we know.

I'd like to reply your other post re translating an article. It seems there will be an episode of Tunnel(?) where the lady reporter will talk about "2 faces of B" and possible accomplice - she allegedly has some info. Well, thats what I understood.
That episode was yesterday (I wanted to watch it, but fell asleep), I don't know if there will be another one, because the show was supposed to go on a summer hiatus last week. If there are any updates about the case, though, I'm sure we'll find out, because it's literally the only thing people and media are talking about here since Thursday.

Due to translation and a word that is loaded in the English usage when it comes to crime, I'm not sure if he means an accomplice to the murderer or an accomplice to assist investigators.
ETA: never mind all that, a Greek speaker cleared up that he does mean an accomplice to the murder.
Κατερινόπουλος: «Η υπόθεση των Γλυκών Νερών δεν έκλεισε - Μπορεί να υπάρχει συνεργός» - DailyPost.gr

"I was convinced from the first night that he was the perpetrator. This, of course, was reinforced by the infamous body language", noted the Honorary President of Police Officers, Thanasis Katerinopoulos

He stressed that "the crime scene always speaks. When I said 'everything in the frame' I meant him."

Finally, Mr. Katerinopoulos stressed that "police officers should have cameras when they go to the scene of a crime. It is necessary now. Some children are trained to use their mobile phone. It is very important. If they had a camera, this case would have been solved in four days - five days", while he noted that "the case is not over".
"A man confessed. The investigator has a lot of work to do. And if he needs the assistance of the police, he can legally request it", clarifying to the possible accomplice that, "it is not necessary for the accomplice to be at the spot. The accomplice may have been on other levels, in other places."

Re the show Tunnel. Do you remember a suspicious BMW? Apparently it belongs to sb of B friends. That was in this show.

It’s very late now but if you like I will talk more about the situation on private conversation because interestingly I was also in charge of the DV police unit in 2005 and in fact I set up the very first DV unit in a different Police Force to the one where I headed up the DV unit in 2005 and that was in 1989/1990 ! And yet I too was a DV victim at home where I was the little housewife who was compliant and submissive and walked on eggshells and agreed to everything because it’s easier to give a kid candy than say no! But on the outside we portrayed a perfect marriage.

I wonder if it means a motive, like another woman?

Oh my goodness! And that’s why I get so annoyed when people think that those suffering with it are weak-they’re the strongest people in society: to endure, plan, placate, protect, work out escapes and deal with terror every day, knowing when they leave the real danger begins… Thank you-it would be great to speak with you.

Apparently Babis asked for the harshest punishment

Thank you so much caylee. I know you are in the midst of exams at the moment, and I appreciate you taking time for that.

I wonder why they are introducing this with suspense/intrigue, I presume she has passed everything to the police, and this is not just about show ratings. I can't imagine it is, with K's involvement. Perhaps because it involves another person she has to wait.

I feel so sorry for Caroline’s family and more so the fact that he attended the funeral, played the grieving husband appearing to be supportive and comforting when all along he was the one who murdered her. It’s so sad that he was part of their final farewell to Caroline at the funeral. He has lied to cover his tracks and the argument in the early hours could also be more lies, they can’t possibly trust a word he says now. Heartbroken her family and friends must be and the poor child, so young. Perhaps he thought that he was beyond getting caught, a respected pilot or so he thought......lowest of the low.

Haven't caught up yet, but I'm wondering what was on the memory card that he flushed down the loo. Perhaps he'd reviewed it and something he saw made him homicidally angry? (not suggesting C's to blame here!!)

edited to add: mind you, he'd have kept that card as evidence of 'provocation'.

Am I right in thinking it took up to 10 minutes for Carolines heart to flat line after the sudden increase in her pulse?
If so, he can't possibly have been in a fit of uncontrollable rage - he could have stopped at any moment.

When my idol cop :) said we will be amazed he apparently didn't mean B arrest. Huge twist is coming!

  • #256
Wow! An accomplice? That would change everything. Although it could possibly mean an "accessory after the fact", ie someone who helped him afterwards to give his story weight.

It would have shown no one else was there.

A secret woman. Maybe that's what they fought about.
Maybe an under age one he was grooming.

The translation doesn't read like it was after the fact. There are several references to something before the murder.
