What could B's motives have been?
  • Conflicts and fights from the messages that the couple had and were also seen in the messages. The victim may have known something and the pilot was afraid that she would speak if he left and they separated.
  • Financial incentives, security or assets.
  • Erotic motives, third person.
  • Most likely it is the emotional state in which the perpetrator was because of the feelings of rejection and devaluation he felt.

B is in a bad psychological state according to his lawyer.

"The accused has begun to realize the magnitude of his act, pointing out, however, that this action was not pre-planned and there was no motive."

"Mr. Papaioannidis, visited his client late last night, stayed with him for about half an hour and they discussed the defensive line. The information says that the 32-year-old, who is in a bad psychological state, attributes his act to his wife's behavior while this time he was not monitored by psychologists. In fact, the information says that the defense will not request a psychiatric examination as the pilot, due to his capacity, underwent psychometric tests every three months."

(Apologies if this has been posted already)

Could be a poor translation, but does this indicate B doesn't need a psychiatric exam because he was already receiving psychological support/testing (from a discredited hynotherapist)?? And/or they don't require an exam because he is/isn't considered psychologically stable. (Surely if he was at risk to himself or others, he wouldn't be able to continue flying).
I think it means the defense is not requesting a psychological evaluation, since he receives psychometric evaluations every three months as a pilot. They should show whether or not he is competent. Imo

Crete is very conveniently situated for illegally transporting things between both Turkey and Libya and possibly Egypt .

Chania Airport, otherwise known as Souda Airport, is the second largest airport in Crete Island, Greece. It is located 10 Km East of Chania City, on the north west of Crete. It has been operating since 1937 and serves 1,5 million passengers a year flying to either domestic or international destinations.

I am beginning to think that C did find out about illegal activities B was involved in and was considering whether to report him to the police.

The 10 "mistakes" of the pilot

1. The window through which the robbers allegedly entered was broken from the inside.

2. The memory cards were removed by the alleged robbers according to the testimony of the perpetrator. How did the robbers know that the cameras had memory cards?

3. The way he was tied showed that he could easily call the police with his hands.

4. The coldness he showed to the police. He asked them if she was dead.

5. The tape was tight around the neck, but not around the face.

6. The detailed description of the weapons of the alleged robbers.

7. The supposed fainting, so that he could escape from answers that would make him fall into contradictions.

8. Forgot that Caroline's watch records her pulse and time.

9. His cell phone recorded his movements.

10. There were contradictions in his statements to the police.

A helicopter would not necessarily need to land at an airport, especially if the pilot was involved in something illegal.

Crete also would have many secret places where boats could drop off things unseen .

But his flights must have been according to his company schedules. He couldnt burn the company fuel on private flights.

I am sure that there would be ways he could buy fuel without his company knowing, especially if he was working with an organised criminal gang.

Media interview: newsman, Lambropoulos, and AK.

24:00 AK: This is a crime which has a queue/line. There exists also a (another) curtain behind the curtain. You don't kill a person for the reasons he's (B's) putting forward/pleading and (kill a person) in this way. Something else is hidden behind this. Maybe C knew something she wasn't supposed to know. Maybe something related to his activities . . . probably, probably. And maybe this is the reason why C wanted to separate/break-up (with B).
25:00 AK: B had 100,000 euros cash to pay for the plot of land? Which bank gives you 100,000 euros cash to withdraw (and take with you out the door)? None. They give you checks/cheques.
25:30 AK: How'd B get this "black" money (i.e. was it earned lawfully or was it from some criminal activity)? Where did the money come from? From lawful activities?
. . .
and regarding the purchase of the plot of land, "how'd the (real estate) transaction happen?" there was a "bank transaction"? (IMO he's implying that there might be something criminal going on in B's real estate transaction)
27:45 Lambropoulos: the sale of the plot of land happened via bank transaction, that's how they have to happen (under the law)
newsman: yeah, they can't (even) happen (legally) any other way
27:55 AK: we don't know that (i.e. we don't know that this was a legal transaction for the plot of land.) (AK is very suspicious about the land sale, and the cash money used for the land sale. He sees it as an important clue as it's one that he's hammering home in many media interviews).

Hope you don’t mind me jumping in but I have been quietly following this thread.
I don’t really have much to add but a snippet regarding an unsolved suspected murder of a British millionaire in Souda Crete Feb 2021. I’m not implying it is in any way related but a possible insight into criminal activity in the area. Food for thought
Family of dead Brit found tied to sunken yacht off Crete 'fear he was murdered'

We're now getting more details from the medical examiner's reports. Confirming my speculation in the first thread, B attacked C to murder her while she was sleeping.

"In fact, as he said, in order to make the robbery scenario convincing, he went so far as to hide their wedding rings and the engagement ring in the tank of the machine."

What does the tank of the machine mean? Washing machine? The petrol tank? The car engine?

Dear Patric, I decided once and for all solve the mystery of K:) The cop I admire is a brigadier AND his name is Thanasis K. So he should be TK. Why do you call him AK? Is A diminutive version of T???

It's referring to the fuel/petrol tank of the motorcycle.

There are many mysteries to solve with the Greek language, my friend!

The full name of his first name is Athanasios. The shorter form of his first name is Thanasis.

Wait a minute. Now it seems Greek people pay for real estate purchases like everyone else in the world, with a bank check?
What happened to the story that it's perfectly normal for Greeks to have loads of cash in their homes to pay for property? I'm not sure I even remember correctly why this was presented as the normal way to do real estate transactions in Greece, wasn't it being said in the beginning of this case it's because agents, contractors and builders don't trust banks?
That always sounded sketchy, it makes more sense not to trust agents and workers who insist on cash rather than a bank check that confirms a record of payment.
