USA and UK? But it is Greek.

Apologies in my replies to Skigh and Winterbells, my reply quotes seem to be all over the place!

Don't worry @Wishingwell - we've all done it at some point or other.

Indeed.
We need someone who is young-ish and living in Greece right now, who knows how the kids bad mouth other people (in Greek) these days.

No need to apologise,we are all friends here. Usually happens when a reply does not include both (QUOTE 's and bracket

Ha, thank you. I think my internet blipped when I was trying to post. I think it’s trying to tell me something!

@Wishingwell I agree, it's an old-fashioned term of homosexual abuse which I'd associate more with someone of CC's Dad's generation.... for example. But maybe the Greek version isn't so outdated sounding. Nevertheless, I find it interesting that CC would use it 'for' B.
Maybe he made a habit of reading about young men exposing themselves and the like.
(Is there any evidence that he went to Mykonos himself, or do we just know about his friend going there?)

I haven’t seen evidence of B going to Mykonos, only SD from his FB page.

B might have secretly visited. Nothing posted on social media.

'Malakas' seems to mean 'wa***r', which at least isn't hate speech, unlike the other one.
I think that's the more common word that young people would use while "poustis" is more of a derogatory word, especially if it's directed at someone who is gay. In the US it seems to be the kids "go to" word and they use it all the time, for any situation. I can see why Caroline would also use the word "old," because to her, he probably is.

Do you know what I found utterly disgusting? B sponging off C's Mum. 1000 Euros a month - is he for real? Has he got no shame?? Why live in this monstrosity of a house if they couldnt afford the rent? One should live within one's means. Why not rent a modest flat and pay for it by himself like any normal honest people. What a disgusting man!!!

Thanks for asking your friend.
But I'm asking specifically about the use of 'Palio Poustis' which contains the Greek words for 'old f**' or 'old fa***t'.
Yes, sorry, I may have had the two words mixed up. Anyway, she is a lot more conservative than I am so that's why I think she called them "very bad" words. She said that particular phrase is very old and asked if someone had said it to me, haha.

We must be very careful to use vocabulary learnt on WS haha- I mean I cant drop the word "strangulation" in my every day English, can I? Or to say I learnt how to tie myself (video posted on this thread). My family and friends are horrified by my interest in true crime, they call it morbid. So I can only talk to you dear WS friends about this case.

That was my point, really.

B&C got a 160,000 euro loan
needed another 30,000 euro. Total building cost 190,000 euro.
C's mother gave 50,000 euro (of the 55,000 euro) for the purchase of the land, yet the land was bought in his name? And this agreement with the owners happened only a day or few days before she was murdered.

/end of summary and translation

plot twist because we'd been told previously that C didn't approve of this location
also AK had hinted around that the money might have been obtained from criminal activities
If the land was bought in his name that means Caroline didn't sign. Perhaps he went ahead against her wishes. So then she's jointly liable on the bank loan, but not an owner. I don't know I'm just tossing ideas around. Would she have to have life insurance as collateral to cover the loan? I think that could be a standard clause in some countries. Life insurance probably covers the whole loan too, not just half if they are jointly and severally liable.

Also I don't know if the building part of the cost (the bank loan) was paid over to the builders a few days before the murder, or if it was just the land part paid for. Because I'm not seeing either of these figures represented in the early fake narrative that the robbers were expecting something like 80K to be in the house.

Now we know that Caroline's mum paid them 50K I feel that was a bit of a dirty trick to play on her too, leaving her wondering whether her plans to help them out or her payment to them had not been discreet enough and had led to Caroline being targetted.

Yes, I understand what you mean. It's hard to know if C was just calling him names out of anger or if it has a deeper meaning. Not to suggest it was meant in any kind of prejudicial way. I think she was just angry and writing her thoughts in her diary was the only way to express herself. Apparently she didn't feel as if she could talk to her family. Imo

Same. Whenever I talk about the cases I'm following I get the feeling others think I'm a little weird. Some people just don't understand! They can't understand why I'm so interested and I don't understand why they're not.

Haha. I know what you mean. I was yelled at by some woman I'd just met at a meeting. We all had coffee after and she asked me what are my interests. I said true crime, her reply "WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN THAT!"

Some people are weird aren't they, not to mention very rude :) I have found most people I meet aren't interested in it, which I actually think is quite strange.
I don't know anyone who is following this case, apart from here.

It's the homophobic part, obviously, that I'm focussed on and I just can't imagine anyone including that bit gratuitously. Fine, if she felt like calling him a 'dirty old man/creep/perv/paedo' for example... given that he had no business dating a child... but to include the offensive and specifically gay slur is really noticeable to me. Sorry to bang on about this, but if he is gay/bisexual/pansexual/a cross dresser or whatever, ordinarily, who cares, but it's extremely relevant to this investigation, as it could be his reason for needing to shut down anyone who might expose him if it's something he wants or feels he needs to keep secret/private.
I can't spell it out, but I assume we are both talking about the same vile word here? And it is prejudicial. Totally. And it's not just something that comes spilling out in anger (I don't believe) unless one has reason to feel betrayed/angered/lied to on the basis of one's partner's sexuality.

I read it as she has her suspicions that he has been involved in a gay relationship, perhaps with an older man .

Yep.
And/or something about his, shall we say interests, made her suspicious (eg. internet browsing history and the like).
