I just bought a new grill so will be having my steaks and burgers and enjoying them.

Been on a fish kick for nearly a year, while trying to not get mercury poisoning. lol

As Midwestmom said, perhaps a bit less red meat or on a flyer special but its still happening.

If the price is outrageous, I notice people just don’t buy it. They can afford it, but won’t. So it sits there until it kind of spoils and management figures out that those higher prices just won’t cut it. Next time I go in, sure enough, price is more reasonable. But they probably add it to my Nutella jar’s price. I just don’t realize it.
For those of you shipping, UPS raised prices in a week’s time about 7%.
Here’s a funny that my son just sent me. It’s clean so anyone can watch it.

Cook on fire. Great.
Actually, I’m trying to eat a bit more red meat for health reasons. The amino acids that you can’t get from other plant sources. But that’s another topic.

Hopefully the grill won't become fire, its an electric grill. :D

We do have a small BBQ but rarely use it these days.

I agree with you again, some red meat is good for you.

Everything in moderation, eh?

I've been anemic for weeks so I added some red meat too. Burgers one week and ground beef to my marinara sauce this week. Not to mention veggies that help too. We will see if my experiment works. I don't know what they'd give you for anemia medication wise but I don't need another drug!!

Iron pills for anaemia, OTC at any pharmacy.

A quick way to get your numbers up, then eating the red meat to keep them up.

Anaemia affects your O2 uptake so dont get too low.

Enjoy the burgers/meatloaf/etc.

Ok, I will ask if I should get those when I go back June 29th. As long as I don't need a blood transfusion, I'm happy.

I think this beta blocker is making me tired. But at least it isn't poisoning me like the other two.

My sugar was 128 last time but they said not to worry about it. I had just eaten my favorite sausage gravy & biscuit with eggs. That is the first time it's been "high" which is above 110. If I don't eat beforehand, then my sugar drops really low. So they'd rather I eat, even it its a bit high that particular moment.

Prices are insane. Our stores aren't offering rain checks now either.

I had a sinking feeling this was coming- glad I put in a huge garden and bought an extra freezer this past deer season. Stocked with venison, and free shrimp and fish from the river.

Looks like I will be canning soon- tomatoes are coming ripe faster than we can eat them. Beans got a virus and died- so just planted more. Looks like we will be eating a lot of Okra and cukes this summer as well.

Bought then sowed some seeds (heat resistant varieties) of many veggies from all over the world- which will expand our choices. Will be putting in fall tomatoes this year too.

I took Feosol for iron deficiency anemia for many years. Vitamin B-12 deficiency can also cause anemia. My B-12 level was very low when I first started to see my new PCP six years ago. I got B-12 injections at different intervals for a year. When my B-12 level returned to normal range, I started taking sublingual B-12 tablet daily. Levels have been steady, so I now take B-12 tablet every other day.

DH and I limit red meat consumption to once every 7-10 days. Unless we go to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (maybe once a year), we rarely order red meat in restaurants.

Expect pork prices to continue to rise at least until September (hearing this from my suppliers), seems chicken and beef have become steady this week but crazy high. I ran out to grab some ground beef at the grocery store because I forgot to bring some home and put it back, first it did not look very appetizing to me and second I absolutely refuse to pay almost $9.00 for a little over a pound of ground beef. I have plenty of stuff in freezer so looks like menu planning will be revised.

Slow fe is what I took. Can get it from Walgreens here or Amazon.
I wouldn’t consider 128 to be high after eating, it can be hard to hit that magic number if you’re prone to really low drops!

Finished all my food prep. So many veggies. Posted in the recipe thread. I can never remember where I’m supposed to post what. LOL! Food & Groceries & Recipes all seem the same to me. Anyway, I think I need to run that auto clean on the oven. I think I’ll do that early one morning before the heat of the day.

I too took iron pills for months when I was severely anemic. But if you want to boost the iron you get from your food, yes red meat will help but also google to see which veggies have iron. Spinach and other dark leafy greens I remember, but other veggies too. Cooking with cast iron also helps I think.

I have not been really looking at the price

I also remember that you had to also have adequate Vitamin D, B12, as it is part of the "package" with Iron deficiency.

I should get back into the routine of taking vitamins, I slacked off a bit.

The only Iron vitamin I can handle is Flintstones Chewable w/Iron. the Dr started me on those when pregnant with my oldest- as I threw up every other Iron supplement he recommended

Folate deficiency can cause anemia. Anemia is a condition in which you have too few RBCs. Anemia can deprive your tissues of oxygen it needs because RBCs carry the oxygen. This may affect their function.

Folate Deficiency

I have this and my PCP has me on Folic Acid. I believe she told me higher than 400 mg and I found one that has 800 mg.

My anemia was due to menstrual problems which were fixed with a hysterectomy. And probably exacerbated because I rarely eat red meat.

It took months of iron pills to get iron back up to normal, and I had my blood tested every three months so I knew when I was there.

Too MUCH iron is also bad so it's important to monitor and not take supplements more than needed.

Thanks to all for giving me ideas for anemia. I've never had this problem before. The physician's assistant said it's related to the MM and didn't seem overly concerned.

I went in to Walmart, the grocery side, after my dentist appt this morning. It wasn't too busy. I think I was the only one wearing a mask, the only one who wiped the cart handle and stayed away from everyone else as much as possible.

I found a fresh made, unbaked cheese pizza. I'm going to load it up with fresh spinach and tomatoes, then more cheese. Yesterday I had a small burger for dinner.
