Good morning/afternoon, hope everyone has had a great weekend!
Looking forward to NL’ continuing unveiling of TM today. I’m sure the prosecution team have made the most of their time over the weekend to go back over TM’ testimony so far and make note of any contradictions and lies.
As much as I would have loved for TM to have been sequestered over the weekend I don’t actually feel it will have been of any great benefit to her to be able to talk to her family etc There is no way she can come up with any cover story that will innocently explain away the phone pings, google locations, text messages etc. She looked quite smug when she said her “Hey Sweetie, ready to meet the MRS” text was after she had spoken to Heather on the phone and Heather had agreed to meet her and her children. Does she actually think the jury would buy that? They have heard from Bri and others that Heather was terrified of her.
I could almost see the workings in her head, if I say SM had the phone after that it doesn’t look so bad, prior to talking to her I was angry as anyone would be who’s husband had been caught cheating but once I spoke with her I realised she was a nice girl. Of course Nancy brought up some of the following messages and even though TM claimed it wasn’t me it was SM, Nancy made the great point of don’t you think Heather could tell the difference! She just can’t make one lie fit all.
I think TM’ jealousy despite claims they were in an open marriage is clear for all to see and I think the state has done a great job of showing that.
OT but I have been watching Making a Murderer 2 over the weekend and during an episode I was watching last night Kathleen Zellner was speaking to a former FBI agent who was giving her advice about victimology, that 70/80 percent of murders are by someone known to the victim. That sexual relationships are one of the first places to look, current boyfriend, ex boyfriend etc and risk factors to look for, for example was she having an affair with a married man. Immediately I thought of Heather of course. In fact I shouted out Heather’s name and woke up my partner next to me, oops, ha!
I really hope that the state try and create a scenario of how and when this kidnapping likely occurred. It seems most likely for us it all went down at Longbeards during that 14 minutes Heather’s car was there (have I got that right?) giving the jury a narrative I would think would really strengthen the case rather than just presenting the phone pings etc
Sorry for the super long post, I hope it makes sense and doesn’t read as jumbled as it is in my head!
