Remember how angry people were when they were told that they could not own human beings?
That is why amendments can be amended, right?
Remember how angry people were when they were told that they could not own human beings?
FWIW, the former POTUS never said he wanted a total gun ban. Stricter background checks? Yes. Increased Mental health access? Yes. Hire more ATF agents to enforce current gun laws? Yes. Did our former POTUS, having the majority, for two years, in the House and Senate, ban semis? No.
Bump stocks, and trigger mods, were passed, under our former POTUS. The ATF, passed them at that time, b/c bump stocks did not physically change the firearm. If bump stocks are going to be banned, then so should trigger modifications. .
To create an amendment, that would repeal the 2nd Amendment, just doesn't seem as if it would fly, no matter who is POTUS.
The link below, shows a legal, trigger mod, that gives three selections; Safe/Semi/Auto. It pretty much allows you to turn your semi into an auto. The first rounds he fires, are in semi mode. The other rounds fired, are in auto. I think this trigger has been around for about four years or so.

Also, lots of folks have semi pistols. I used to have one. Like our semi rifle, it shot as fast as I could pull the trigger. There are fairly easy ways to turn a semi pistol, into an auto pistol, too (it takes three parts). The ways I've seen, I don't think are legal, but, if you are planning to murder lots of folks, legality is not an issue.

I know I sound like a broken record, but, keeping firearms out of the hands of children/teens, in the home, is a good first step. There's also far too many toddlers finding firearms in the home, and killing themselves, or someone else, just from being a curious toddler. Folks recognizing that their family member may have a problem, and taking it seriously, is a close second. Don't take mentally unsound people to the firing range to bond, where they just get skilled at using their firearm, not to mention becoming good at marksmanship, and don't buy them firearms, or give them access to firearms.
We see with Cruz and Lanza that mom enabled. It sounds like that killer in Florida who shot random people on the street had enabler parents. How do you get parents to see little Johnny is not OK? That he is a danger?
As a teacher, I often had to tell parents that their child had issues. Luckily, with most I could start with speech . Most parents accept going to a speech clinician. .
. I don’t know if it is this way in other states, but I had to have two interventions with kids with the parent doing the same thing at home. Sometimes they worked.
But if they did not, then we start the testing for special needs process.
People do not want to hear that their child may have intellectual issues.
Behavior at school was easier. They would behave in school with interventions. It was out of school that usually was the problem. If parents did not change their behavior then behaviors would continue at home.
And sometimes people, lie about what is really going on at home. So at school it can be ok with imterventions during the day, but home is a hell hole.
Trump is still attacking the guard, he says he would have run in there even if he wasn't armed. Yeah right, you need a bodyguard to go to the bathroom with you Trump. Attacking people who are in a traumatic experience is absurd. I'm sure he'd criticise teachers who didn't shoot back in the halls if confronted by an assault-weapon wielding shooter!

Meanwhile there's an interesting poll saying that US citizens want stricter gun control in that article
"The National Rifle Association has also come out aggressively against any new restrictions, even as public support for stricter gun laws has risen to its highest level since the early 1990s, according to a CNN pollreleased on Sunday."
Here is how he deals with blood and possible death. No,guns involved. Maybe that is why he did not be brave and act

From that article
"Trump, a notorious germaphobe, is discussing his extreme distaste for blood. The mere sight of it, he says, causes him to recoil in disgust."
So how is Trump going to act in a mass shooting with blood literally everywhere then?
Wow. What a stand up guy. Here is how he deals with blood and possible death. No,guns involved. Maybe that is why he did not be brave and act

Who cares? President Trump will never be in that position.
I agree with the criticism. It was his JOB. He did nothing to save those kids. He was there, with a gun, the only chance there was to save lives, and he waited outside where he was safe.
Wow. What a stand up guy.
From your link
"The former reality-TV host then shares a story with Stern about the time he thought a man died in front of him during a charity event at his Palm Beach club Mar-a-Lago and, rather than helping the injured man, Trump turned away in disgust at the sight of his blood."
What was he meant to do with his pistol while Cruz was in their with his AR15? To go in, without back up, would have been suicide. He wasn't going to save anyone, to think he could take Cruz on, on his own is just ridiculous
I certainly care! The man is calling someone a coward and posturing like some sort of hero when he wants people like me to have to worry about a bunch of firearms in my workspace and where our next generation is learning.
There are so many awful scenarios involved and considering the way he talks, it's even MORE insulting that he WON'T ever be in that position.
Was he even able to ascertain how many gunmen were involved and where their locations were? Don't you have to assess the situation before you enter it? Isn't that part of being a responsible gun carrier? What was he meant to do with his pistol while Cruz was in their with his AR15? To go in, without back up, would have been suicide. It’s not ridiculous.
Do you have a link please/I just read where Nick Cruz's mother was an addict and he was conceived during a one-night stand. He very well could have been a crack baby. Society has to change. This single mother thing having kids with no marriage and no father does NOT cut it. Every child deserves a warm loving home. The majority of kids in trouble do not have this.
