I have been following Hailey's case from the beginning and am stunned and saddened that this the the outcome. I know it's better to have resolution in her disappearance but I had always held out hope that she ran away from her crazy family. Her case has really touched me.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has searched for her. Your kindness and devotion to find her deserves so much more than thank you but I am kinda at a loss for words right now.

I am anxiously waiting for the person responsible to be charged.

For anyone local who knows the lake where Hailey was found....Is it an 'ugly place'?

I think this "ugly" comment had to do with something BD said about not wanting to find Hailey in an "ugly" place.

Back to Christmas day ... it's more visible in this photo, the pink hair. Was it dyed? Or a hair piece? I can't recall it being discussed ever.

I was rereading a very old article in which MBs mom was interviewed about the sleepover. I am sure we have all read it, but in a nutshell, she said that, at her house, they do not do "spur of the moment" sleepovers (and on a weeknight?) and that Hailey had NEVER EVER spent a night at their home.
It raised a question in my mind.
If Hailey did not have advance plans to sleep over at MB's, and the only communication between them (based on cell phone records) was a text FROM Hailey asking "what are you doing?" to which MB did not reply, there was no phone call (there's no landline so it would have had to been a call to or from Billie's cell) to arrange this. SOMEBODY forgot to make a provision for this in their story. Nobody has claimed MB came over to invite Hailey, or that Hailey went to MB's, was invited, then went home to pack absolutely nothing before returning. There was no 2-way communication AT ALL between them. So exactly when did Hailey and MB arrange the sleepover? The only answer I can come up with is that they didn't. I think we all KNEW that, but this substantiates that feeling.

Sorry ....Behind in my reading...but BJD says Hailey had to get permission from her to leave and this didnt happen that day...

If I came home from work and my teenage daughter was gone ...when she was suppose to have been home ALL DAY and should have asked me FIRST not my BF (SA)....I'd been looking around the house for clues

Ok what was she doing all day?.... I'd be asking myself...

Hmmm who is she with? why she didnt take clothing or a bag ?
or her jacket or her Ipod?? or her purse or her money??
Where are her sleep clothes?
Hmmm Now What?????? ok was she here during the day and doing what?

I'd look in the garbage can first to see what has been thrown away?

I'd look in the refrigerator? in the sink for dishes and glasses...in the bathroom for whether she got a shower and wash her hair etc... Toothbrush wet.....

Ok the cell phone dang it who did she call and where is my daughter??? would be eating at me.....

I don't know about Hailey but geez my teenager left me lots of clues ...

Gues if.... BJD was getting off work and going to the ATM buying Drugs....getting home after dark....she didnt find the time to ask where is Hailey? Or talk to her at anytime during this day... BJD never tried to make contact with Hailey and after getting home after dark and finding her not at home.... She finds out from SA she is at a friend home.... a friends house she has never stayed at before.....so what does BJD do ?

None of the above...she watches TV and went to bed.....

Not me...


BJD house rules seems firm...Cant leave the house during the day, need permission to leave and go overnight.. cell phone left for calls. etc etc and then the little things doesnt cross her mind. She could have reported Hailey missing a day earlier....

all this doesnt add up......again not to me... not if all these rules were broken...I'd be checking up on her especially since I had not seen her in 12 hours and it was a school vacation day...

My interpretation of the cell message is that HD and MB had verbally arranged for a meeting at BD's house for some purpose, and MB, for whatever reason, did not show up. HD texted MB basically asking MB where was she, and recieved no reply. She would have waited more, but when SA returned home unexpectedly, she took off for destinations unknown.If you read the mothers account no mention is made of the text, which means she probably didn't know about it at the time. That in turn means someone deleted it from MB's phone before the mother had a chance to examine it. No reply was made, but someone must have read it.

People are keeping secrets if this cell message does in fact exist.

Maybe what you stated has more meaning than you realize.....

when SA returned home unexpectedly, she took off for destinations unknown.

Maybe Hailey questioned SA and found out he quit his job and was going to tell her mom...

SA was having a really emotional day....didn't want to hear her snippy comments....and things escalated...

There is a reason why Haileys brother couldn't get in the home that day.

If all the witness reporting see Hailey is true that day something could have started at this time....

There is a saying 'Don't mess with Texas'....Texas combined with Mother Nature were unbeatable odds....Hailey was found. For the one who put her there....watch out....there is a lot 'working' here and you are on the wrong side. *no violence intended*

Whatever happened to Hailey might have happened before Shawn quit his job, and that's why he had to quit his job. Just saying.

I was going back through all the old links last night and seen where LE had stated that they had a suspect (Shawn Adkins) but not enough evidence to prosecute him without a body. The wording made me believe that they have quiet a bit of evidence. Then I started wondering why they haven't arrested Shawn and it dawned on me that just because we have the DNA results back on the remains does not mean that they have finished testing the evidence found at the scene. There is no telling what kind of evidence was on the sweat pants. I think the reason that they are asking for tips is because now that her remains have been found somone close to Shawn may flip on him.

The problem with that is there doesn't appear to be "deviant" on the devices directly associated with SA, those were only found on the computer at them mothers house, where other individuals reside who are far more likely to have been the ones who downloaded that stuff.

There is no evidence at all that SA and/or BD were into some sort of deviant sexual lifestyle.

SA's movements on the day HD dissappeared are fairly well accounted for, at most he would have had 30 minutes maximum to have done anything and concealed the evidence so well that no one has found any trace of anything at all. That is not very likely.

See I just don't know ...how long does it take to kill someone and say put Hailey in the trunk and immediately go to the lake or even his Grannys since didnt he say she was not at home and then continue in route to pick up Billie at work.

The house being lock and DD account of that....still concerns me a lot.

I cant remember but is it possible he had time to handle all this before picking up Billie.

I would think if didnt take that long and maybe SA can kill and hide the evidence in 30 minutes and just hadnt finished completely before David broke in to get into the home since he hadn't unlocked the doors yet...

I cant remember all the facts but it would make the text feasible as being from Hailey and also make BJD not part of the crime.

Hailey leaving to destinations unkown could be true also except the child left everything ....in flip flops

I cant remember but what was SA explanations for locking up the home afer Hailey supposely left and not answering the door for DD.

that reddish one BD is wearing above is possibly the same one Hailey is wearing in the school video

also on one of the FB's, back around Nov 4, 2012, BD said she had to look thru Hailey's clothes to try to determine what she was wearing when missing...and BD said a new turquoise Aeropostle t-shirt was missing and YET the missing posters NEVER said anything near that specific


personally I think BD would wear any of Hailey's clothes she took a fancy to...even shoes\

imho, you'd think parent(s) of a missing child would tone it down a notch...but that is just me, call me old fashioned, conservative, stick in the mud

Reading today she had blue sweats on and sitting here thinking about it.
Does anyone have pics of Hailey in sweats?
Is this something she would wear out and about? or just around the house or maybe to sleep in...
I noticed she had jeans on in the xmas pic.

Whatever happened to Hailey might have happened before Shawn quit his job, and that's why he had to quit his job. Just saying.

I have wondered this. It seems way too convenient for SA's job quitting to have happened on the same day. I too wonder if whatever happened happened before he drove to the job and it is directly related to his reasons (as yet unstated) for quitting.

I have not followed Hailey's case for some time and need to refresh myself of the facts surrounding that day. They are lost to me in the mud of all the unflattering facts that came out after I am afraid.

Anyone got a good timeline link to give me a good start? TIA Off to see if there is one in the OP meanwhile.

I apologize if this has already been mentioned, but two things are gnawing at me. The flat affect of the Mom and the fact that almost all cases like this end up being the immediate family or someone close in the immediate family. I hope Billie wasn't involved, but she sure acted strangely during all her interviews with Nancy Grace. Nancy even commented about how flat she seemed. I know we don't all act the same in face of severe trauma, but I would have been and still would be a basket case of giant proportions.

Also sad to say that if they don't have the goods on the perpetrator after all this time, I am hesitant to think this one will be solved.

I cannot blame her for not searching. I am with you tho. You could not have made me stay home, but LE really doesn't like the family to search for fear they might really find the body. But in this situation, I think the actions on BD part were very odd for a grieving Mom. That is all I will say.

I know when SA claims to have last seen Hailey. But as he is my main POI, I am loath to take his word on that. Anyone know when the last time Hailey was seen by her mother? And additionally, since her mother has made some very poor decisions IMO I would also like to know when anyone OTHER than BJ or SA saw Hailey.

A neighbor reportedly sees Hailey talking on the phone in her backyard around noon.
Nearly a dozen call were made from Adkins' phone in the Big Spring area from 9:38 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. (area of SA mom's home)
Adkins tells authorities comes home at 3 p.m.
Hailey tells him at 3:15 p.m. that she is going to her dad's, then to MB's for a sleepover, but neither Clint nor MB see or hear from her.
