Naomi just seems a bit slow to me and I think with everything that was going on and remember she had a very young baby and so not getting much sleep and was still out there searching that she got mixed up on the days.

Keep in mind that in BD's timeline Naomi was also cited as having told DD on Tuesday morning that HD had been around the previous day, but not stayed.

So, Naomi says this at least twice.

She also neglected to mention the earrings until confronted with them when they were found.

She appears to be confused about a lot of things.

This is one of the issues I have with how local LE handled the investigation. Stuff like that should have raised lots of eyebrows, but it appears it did not.

We know that something must have happened about 6 months into the investigation, because Toombs suddenly conducted polys of CD and N, and concluded from that the results confirmed what he suspected. So what happened to change his mind and do the test? Either there was a substantive change in facts that cast a light of suspicion on them, or he was facing pressure from senior agencies who didn't understand the focus and conduct of his investigation.

We are assuming of course that these folk are telling us the same thing they told LE.

Something as simple as a nap in the middle of the day could explain Naomi's confusion. I took a 2 hour nap earlier today then thought it was Friday the rest of the day. I wasn't stoned or lying. I just slept so long and sound that it messed up my days of the week. Plus, now that my kids are out of school for summer, everyday feels like a weekend.

I doubt the GM would know that. In any case, LE wouldn't need his permission to view those documents.

Your wrong. The GM did know. Naomis family are pretty close and he was in regular contact with them. He lived with her family a lot after Hailey went mssing. Clint was very close to her.

You sure assume a lot of things. Most don't seem to be fact though unfortunately. The simple fact is that Clint kept asking for a poly so he could be eliminated. He wanted to make sure LE wasn't focussing on him when they could be focussing on others and there was some vicious Billie supporters trying to blame him and he simply wanted to be cleared. They told Clint pretty early into the investigation that Hailey was dead. They didn't tell Billie this. Then again she didn't bother contacting LE regularly like Clint did.

Regarding Billies time what was on there means nothing to me as firstly shes a convicted liar and secondly I know it will come out that several things on that aren't true. As for Naomi being confused about the red earrings have you ever tried asking Billie about them? because I know have and I know others have and you seriously cant get a straight answer out of her about it.

That makes no sense, can you clarify?

Okay according to KB Hailey wanted to live with Clint and not Billle after moved in. We know this is likely to be true as once he moved in she seemed to live with several other people including Clint for a month. During the process of it being determined where Hailey live she spoke to CPS and explained to them why she didn't live with her mom. Those files have been handed into LE. The important thing about them is like she said there Haileys words and what it was like in that house. I wish Clint had got custody because in my opinion Hailey would then be here today.

The mess up of days is concerning, I think drug abuse and the confusion over her allegedly leaving Monday but being reported missing Tuesday confuses it. Peter Hyatt made numerous errors on his days and dates when talking about the case and we know he wasn't involved. Hailey was at Clints on the Sunday, this is in the timeline Billie gave, that Hailey slept there and came home at midday on Sunday and they all sat down for Xmas lunch at 2. I can totally see how they mess up the day before she supposedly went missing with the day before she was reported missing. Buying time is handy both for covering tracks, composing yourself and confusing things for others.

The interesting thing is why this day was included in the timeline. It was included because there was noise about fights that day and Billie addressed that directly in her presser - [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWWUhh0ZZaM"]01/31/2011 - Hailey Dunn Case - RAW Billie Dunn Press Conference - Produced by Kyle Guthrie - YouTube[/ame]

I feel like I need to go over the day surrounding Hailey’s disappearance again for several reasons. Many people who are not close to the case seem to be confused because there were so many conflicting accounts of what actually happened.

After watching many of the interviews I’m beginning to see why myself.

Um…I have yet to see an entire interview aired or printed… they are cut or pasted…edited for time and space. And often I’m not quoted in correct context. My words are sometimes picked apart and twisted around in such a way that i don’t even recognize them.

I’ve been flat out called a liar by some people, others speculate on my possible involvement in Hailey’s disappearance, or wonder if I’m covering up for somebody.

Some people accuse me of withholding information and not cooperating with law enforcement. These things are not true, that I now feel like I have to defend myself from ridiculous accusations, slander or defamation of character.

That said I want to start out by saying that there was no blow-out on Christmas, there were no arguments, or disagreements. Everyone was getting along fine. Um… everyone pretty much got exactly what they asked for.

Would be nice to have this story corroborated from another source.

You mean he told people that he wanted to take a poly, but that LE wouldn't. That just does not make sense. LE had no idea what happened, and CD's house was her last reported destination, they would (or should have) been happy to give one since it could supply some level of clarity. Why on earth would they refuse??? And if there really was compelling evidence making it unnecessary (there wasn't) why suddenly do it 6 months later? Sorry, I don't buy that. Either he is selling you one or the local LE is incompetent.

Also, he was telling you she was dead, not LE. Who knows what they told him, but since they didn't know what happened to her it is extremely unlikely that they would have told him that. And even if they did, why would they not have told BD? If she already knew then she knew, if she didn't then she would have as much right to know as CD. I mean, it is not like she didn't know what they were aiming at or what half the town was saying. So, not telling her would have been pointless.

Remember what I said - what these people are telling you is not necessarily what they are telling LE.

As for BD, her timeline was committed to paper, which means she took some time to compose it. Also, LE confirmed that it was largely correct. Keep in mind that that particular part of the time line was attributed to DD, and my guess is that he would corroborate that.

I'll bet that he told LE that as well, but they chose to believe the adult over the child. Likewise with the account of him returning home on the Monday, they used other adults hearsay instead of his direct testimony (presumably because the adults version suited their theory, while his did not).

Another example of this attitude is the hairdresser who claimed to have seen HD that afternoon in the company of a young boy she didn't know. One of the things she claimed is that LE told her that the boy's testimony would be unreliable because of his age, therefore her story was discounted. The inference however is that (A) they knew who the boy was, and (B) he corroborated her account, but because he was too young, they could not rely on it being credible.

And since you are the one who raised the issue of the rumoured big fight about where to live the night before, it raises the scenario of this story being a custody dispute that went wrong.

I was thinking about that this afternoon. Assuming that this fight happened, and taking the personalities of the actors into account, you can kind of piece together a reasonable scenario that would account for most of the story around this case.

One thing about BD that has struck me is that she seems the type of person who confronts a situation head on in an attempt to pre-empt the situations conclusion.

For example, go back to the 911 call the year before. SA and her have a fight, he says he is going to go and take "stuff" and leave. So, to stop that she doggedly and aggressively calls LE in an attempt to get them to get them to intervene before SA can do it. She is using LE to enforce her will and she will get dramatic to achieve that end.

Now, fast forward a year later. HD is acting up because she doesn't like SA and wants to live with her father. BD doesn't want this, so there is drama. Everyone heads to work the next day, but, unknown to them HD has arranged with persons unknown (family or friends or others) to take off. Trouble is, SA doesn't have a job any more and unexpectedly arrives home early. HD can't pack up as planned because then she would have to explain why, plus her ride is going to arrive any minute. So she panics and leaves immediately with vague explanations about where she is going. Off she goes, SA is unconcerned thinking it is just more drama, tells BD when he picks her up, but BD is not overly worried because HD does this on occasion.

She gets a bit annoyed later when HD uncharacteristically doesn't contact her however, and the next day, at work, decides to send DD out to order HD home. Unfortunately HD is no where to be found. So, what does BD think now? She will be thinking that CD has arranged this with HD so she can run off and be with him, and BD's character is that she meets these sorts of challenges by calling the cavalry and heading the challenge off at the pass. So she storms over to LE in high drama and sets everything else in motion.

If you look at everyone else's behaviour subsequent to this you can fit them into this scenario and it sort of makes sense.

What happened to HD though? Obviously she didn't go to family, and I think there is a good reason why - it would be too easy for her mother to find her if she did. So she went somewhere else, friends, friends of family, or someone else she knows. Trouble is, it seems that most of these people live in a drug culture, and are maybe not the nicest people around. So, in the scenario she would have been resident with these sorts of people when the whole missing/abduction tsunami broke. When that happened she would have become a liability that could send people to jail. Stuff happened and she died.

So, in this scenario, something like the Odessa story would fit. And if Odessa did happen, then the people involved would be very serious about covering up and making sure people didn't talk (and this is the drug culture). If HD was fed drugs to keep her quite and make her compliant while they figured out what to do with her, then she ODed, dumping the body out at the lake and saying they know nothing would be consistent (Felony murder is no laughing matter - OD victims are dumped all the time).

This in turn could explain all the fear and threats which are going around. These people would want the story to go away and anyone who could possibly know anything to keep their mouths shut. Who all is afraid? N's family apparently (where is N btw?). The guy who found HD's body, who seemed very vocal, then claimed he received a threat, then abruptly shut up. MB's mom, who appeared to make exceptional effort to distance her daughter from the situation and HD, won't let BD speak to her, and says MB is afraid (Why?). CD drives across half the state looking for HD (even though a poster here claims he was told she was dead), turns out to be really hard to find and now is caught driving around with a gun. Connie and BD making really cryptic comments recently. Then there is the memorial, with it's own drama at multiple levels, with relatively few locals showing up and half of them apparently some sort of biker gang.

She doesn't like people to think shes a liar? then maybe she shouldn't have been convicted of it then.

As for there being no problems on the Sunday that's a lie and that's a fact and has been confirmed by others. This is what I don't get she cant stop lieing.

This post hurts my head. For me its just wrong on so many levels.

As for where N is she was cleared. As her and Clint are no longer together and haven't been for quite a while her whereabouts are irrelevant.

I believe that the sighting with the young boy was on the Sunday. That period of time isn't even in question. Again there are no confirmed sightings of Hailey on the Monday according to LE. Its pretty well known that Clint was told early on that Hailey was dead. As for why Clint would be told and not Billie that one is simple. Clint cooperated with LE. Billie didn't. Clint wasn't living with the suspect. Billie was. Clint wasn't convicted of lieing to protect the suspect. Billie was. Clint didn't fail a poly. Billie did. As for them not telling Clint because they didn't know again and this has been pointed out by many people you don't know what evidence LE have. All indications are that they have more evidence than you think luckily.

As for the timeline that means nothing to me. When Kampfer said some of it was correct but some of it wasn't that was at the beginning. I would think as they did more investigating they found even more discrepancies. As for what DD did and didn't confirm for the important period of time he wasn't even at home or at least according to Billie he wasn't.

I feel the post is very clear. How come you can post theories of what happened, but this posters' theory hurts your head? As far as Naiomi, her whereabouts are very relevant, this is a homicide investigation. Even if her and CD aren't together, she's still apart of this.

Mainly because she tries to throw things out there that are different to what is known. Not just that she tries to rewrite what I said. Eg about Hailey wanting to live with Clint. I never said anything about it being a year after the argument with Shawn. Hailey was killed ten months after that argument and CPS had already decided allegedly that she couldn't live with her dad so the timing of what Tugela is saying is way off. We know or some of us do that quite a bit of the time after that argument with Shawn and before her disappearance that she wasn't living with her mom. She lived in various homes so it wasn't a case of Hailey just decided in Dec 2010 she didn't like Shawn. What none of her post explains to me is IF this was all true why did Billie lie about so much? not cooperate with LE? get convicted of lieing? A couple of other things. She asked why did he travel across looking for Hailey if he had been killed. Well he was looking UNTIL he was told then he suddenly stopped and nothing was really seen of him. As for MB and Billie not being allowed to talk to her well considering Billie has never even tried to talk to MB that would be hard. And yes Billie herself has said she has never tried to talk to MB.

As for Naomi she has been cleared. She and Clint are no longer together and shes moved out of the area. I am sure that LE knows where she is if they do need to talk to her.

I think Tugela is throwing out theories just like everyone else. No way LE told CD that Hailey was dead early on without telling BD the same. Even if they suspected her lying, they would've told her. And I keep hearing statements about CD searching for HD until police told him she was dead? Well, even if that's the case, every parent I know wouldn't stop searching unless LE showed them proof that she was dead, or the body. But we know he didn't stop searching after being "notified" by LE if HD's death, because he went looking in Odessa. I'm not on team BD or SA or even CD. I've said it plenty of times before, they all let HD down. At some point or another, they're all responsible. Lying, drug use, bad parenting, etc. as far as CPS goes, IF they had credible info, or sufficient evidence to remove HD from BD's home, they would have. Clearly the judge ruled with BD, and by that pretty much made it clear she had HD's best interest at heart.( whether I agree or disagree is not relevant, it's the decision the judge made) I think there are several possibilities to as what happened to HD, but I don't have facts, so I'm tnot willing to put all my eggs in the basket, because who really knows what happened to her? There is always 3 sides to a story.... Yours, mine & truth. Hopefully the truth shall prevail one day.

Maybe it wasn't that easy to tell Billie? according to a statement LE made when Billie moved she didn't give them a address or phone number. By her own admission she didn't keep in contact with LE. About Odessa maybe he went there before being informed what he was by LE I have no idea. We also don't know what proof he was told that Hailey was dead.

Great post. There are very little facts that have been revealed in this case, unfortunately. I mean, what do we KNOW? Not much, really. Hailey was seen on Sunday, then at some point she was just gone. LE has not even said they have any physical evidence as to what may have happened. Most of the things we have heard are rumor, pure and simple. "So and so said that they heard..." Those things are NOT facts, have not been reported in MSM. I agree that everyone surrounding this case let Hailey down, and none of them seem to be upstanding citizens in any case, which makes it all that much more difficult to get to the truth.

That "biker gang" is BACA BIKERS AGAINST CHILD ABUSE and to 'assume' that they are nefarious is incorrect. IMHO Given all the llamadrama before the memorial, they were there for a reason. Just as they were at Charlie and Braden's funeral when the Powell family wanted to create drama. BACA is an international organization and should be commended for their efforts. Hope that you never need their assistance.

The facts we do have is that Billie and Shawn both failed polys. Also that Billie was convicted of lieing to protect the suspect in her daughters disappearance. Another fact according to LE is that she wasn't seen alive on the Monday by any witnesses.

I'm sure I'll get scolded for saying this, but being a liar doesn't make you a killer. There is so much emphasis on those dang polys, it's ridiculous! So what they failed, do you know how a poly is administered? Do you know how's it read? Several serial killers have PASSED polys like its no big deal. Why rush to convict on gossip, and failed polys? And for the record, I don't know CD, BD, or SA from Adam. I'm not saying they're innocent or guilty of killing Hailey. They're guilty of many things, but until there is strong evidence, I'm not ready to pin her murder on anyone!
