That's an idea worth checking into. I wonder if the police subpoena'ed Facebook for records of how those posts were made, which servers used. Makawao and Haiku have some separation. At least they could find out if it came from his home IP, his computer or anything from the wireless network. Or was it on a cellular network? Our police in the islands aren't so cyber-tech-oriented as one would hope.Maybe he was waiting for her thinking she'd be on her way home and wasted the time on Facebook. If I remember correctly there were deleted text messages between him and Charli.
Edit: of course they could subpoena not only Facebook, but his home internet provider, his cell carrier, Skype, Instagram, everything he could have used that day and evening.
I remember something about deleted texts, but how would we know that? Her phone was never found, and the info about his phone has been kept with the police. I seem to remember that text message bodies are not kept by the provider other than record a text was sent or received from a phone number.
A full phone backup of an iPhone will restore texts, so they must be copied there when the phone is saved, like before installing an update.
