Could be Nikki. Was the direction of items possibly dropped headed toward water?

I wonder if any of his social media posts will be admissible? And you know I want to know if the skull painting did in fact have hidden images or if it was a map.

No real similarities with Mo. right?

great if Defense wants to open talks about how Mo and Charli deaths were similar. Both last seen by lying ex boyfriend. Start there.

Prayers for Charli's family. It rips at my heart to hear what happened to Carly and her child. God give them the strength they need to follow through on seeking justice for her.

Loio, your reporting was fantastic and can't thank you enough. Didn't have time today to comment on strategies but sure appreciated hearing about them.

The news about Charli literally found in pieces was grim and hit me hard. I never even met her, and I can't bear it, how horrific for her family and friends. It makes me feel ill to hear the details; for some reason, the clumps of hair made me so sad. I know Kim has said she was dismembered, but I didn't think it would be so extreme (not sure why, just hope I guess).

HGO, no, I don't remember that Facebook image of the fetus. Was it later deleted?

Right on, RDS, that made me laugh, truth.

HGO, there was a lot of talk on social media about how women disappear on Maui and maybe a SK on the prowl in the northeast of Maui. At first, quite a few though that. It didn't take long before it was evident SC was not some innocent bereaved boyfriend, and Mo's ex was bad too. If defense wants to go for "the real killer is still out there" (ala OJ), I doubt it will fly at this point. It's been two years, and there haven't been more disappearances.

Pua, I didn't post about the pic that was Nikki and I've read and followed charli's story in and out so I remember all the talk. My point is there are no striking similarities to Mo. The defense can suggest and plant that thought but the proscecution should be able to do a good job dismissing that. Their stories hold no real comparisons. Imo

Something odd tho that what was found are literally best for identifying remains: teeth in order in jawbone for dental records, fingerprints, hair. Why did he have those specific things bundled together and drop those. I want like idea he was scared off by something and it made him sloppy. Why go to all that work just to make it looks like she was killed. But either they found more and only said that so far or something fishy no?

Who else thinks jury selection was too fast?

Agreed Run, still so many missing details to what actually happened. I still don't have a grasp how this all happened and what he did.

Fingertips? Wow that answers my questions about how they found her fingernails. I think several of us have mentioned how something scared him off or made him rush. If the jawbone was in 2 pieces 6ft apart it sounds like he was dropping things. Headed to the water? I can't wait to hear what Nala's role was. Remember how he posted that pic of a 23 week fetus being cut from the womb on his Facebook? It was in April '14.

Wonder if SC was coming or going in order to get rid of them?

Chime in Napili and Kapua!

I understand everything you're saying, I do. I'm more so playing devil's advocate. In this day and age people expect that forensic testing is thorough. As in the opposite of the OJ trial were it meant nothing to them as it wasn't mainstream yet. I'm afraid jurors will look at this side eyed, like us on here, unless there is a great explanation.

Bear in mind that OJ was a beloved sports hero, and SC is not.

I'm at the courthouse again. I don't expect today to be all that informative, I'm only here to see which jurors were dismissed.

This trial will be expensive! The County has to pay travel expenses for the residents of Lanai and Molokai.

I thought it would take days.

Yesterday the clerk was asking the sick jurors to return on Friday. Maui News reports that jury selection will wrap up on Friday. It could be sooner but it's definitely not over. SC's trial is slated for 9 am.

That is a lot of work to remove the fingertips, hair and jaw and like you said, all of it is used to ID her remains. I think the bundle was dropped. And if it wasn't for her cell phone going off, no one would have known where to look.

So far I'm not seeing the same people as yesterday so maybe they were told to go into a special jury room.

This is a completely new pool of prospective jurors. So far the same process as yesterday.

Jurors are assembled in an empty courtroom and asked to fill out a questionnaire. I'm not allowed in there. When they're done filling out their forms they file back into the hall and wait. Then I suppose they're going to go into Cardoza's courtroom (number 3) and go through the introductions, read the charges, allow each side to present their "mini opening statements" and then start eliminating jurors with specific questions.

I don't feel it's prudent to repeat the questions asked of the jurors.

Thanks, Loio, for expanding on the jury selection process. I get it now.

Yes, I think you guys have it, kudos. The identifying pieces and bloody clothing all together for some special disposal. Hearing about finger tips instead of just nails makes such a difference to the picture.

Great point, Loio, that the phone ping was the only clue pointing to Honumanu.
