The cd just there has been very strange to me. In the middle of the jungle. It makes no sense. She kept it in her car. Why was it there on the path? Leads me to think she drove down that path. The blanket was in her car too. Is that where he told her his car was stuck? Was she even still alive when she went down the path or did he drive down the path? I think her car had to be down that path at some point.

So do I ...
I believe the dirt road we are calling path is passable by a 4Runner type 4WD part way in, but not to the beach, which works because the spot is not to the beach. SC's truck was lifted and hers was not, so hers would not have that advantage. He would need to not get her truck stuck out there, but he had previously scouted the road for when it became too gnarly.

If Molly and Max didn't know they were going to Paraquats until they were at Haiku Community Center, and Phaedra is the only one who "planned" to go to Paraquats, and Phaedra didn't touch the clothes or blanket, then the evidence isn't so contaminated. May be they are trying to show that Phaedra didn't bring the evidence to Paraquats to frame any one.

Maybe killer was trying to leave the clothes and blanket washing in the river then come back when blood evidence was washed out and bury it. I don't know why not burn them other than not want attention to smoke and fire.
Still possible it was all staged by killer with last phone ping there on purpose.

"It took about an hour to reach the location, but it was still light out according to Jones. He said that when they turned off the highway and first started to drive down the dirt road leading to Nuaʻailua, they had to park on the side because the road was so bad."

I think so, too, HGO. Charli was most likely incapacitated by then and SC was driving.
But, again, why would he say his car was out there that night? It just points the incriminating finger right at him.

Didn't Charli also have a computer with her/in her car that Sun. night that is now missing?
Great point, I don't remember any details though, but that her computer was missing yes, and it was a laptop. So they lost all her records that may have been on it, possibly stuff with Steven ...
also iPhone backups if any. I always backup before installing an update, includes texts and emails, photos. Not something a serial killer would care about ...

yep, I remembered that but I forget if the truck they had was 4WD or what. Steven had the lift and the tires to go farther than truck not tricked out, no? Would be one reason for his truck to maybe be out there, to get him to more remote spot, like if he did take her down to the beach (or her body).

I was trying to reply to a post but it didn't quite work out. So it looks like such a random thing to say but it was in connection to him wearing the same shirt day after day. Steven has other relatives on Maui according to a friend of mine. Aunt Susan is not his only family. But even if she were his only relative I would think he would have at least one friend that could bring him a clean aloha shirt to wear once in a while. And if he truly has no one supporting him then the attorneys should make arrangements for clothing. It looked like the attorneys gave him a jacket the first day of the trial which dressed him up a bit but which he has never worn again. The most disturbing thing about his shirt situation tho is that Charli's sisters talked about how Charli loved to take care of him ( cooking and cleaning ) and bought him new clothing. She was too good for him. And maybe Steven thinks it is okay to show up to trial everyday wearing the same shirt. I don't. To me, that would be like going to work wearing the same dress day after day and thinking that no one will notice. It's just weird.

I did it again. I was trying to reply to " Mamamerced " and am still figuring out how this website works. Sorry people !

If you hit the "reply with quote" under the message you want to respond to it should bring up a box (just under the message). Begin typing after 'Quote'. Also, remember to click on the remember me box when you log on. Hope that helps and thank you for the answer to my question. I though perhaps yours was a veiled meaning to "family".

Maybe he refuses any other clothing. Maybe SC feels "safe" in that shirt. A sort of psychological thing. I've read certain psychosis hide under their clothing. Who knows but it's inappropriate to wear the same shirt everyday. Has to look weird to the jury too.

What happened to SC's grandfather (Carlos Young?) SC said in the police interview that his grandfather would confirm that he was home by 11 the night that Charli went missing. Maybe he is a witness and cannot be in the courtroom?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think it's weird or inappropriate to wear the same thing everyday. Hopefull it's regularly washed, though. I went to Catholic schools where I wore uniforms (2 sets of the same) for 12 years. Then I became a back-to-the-land hippie and wore even less... To this day I own very few clothes....just not important to me, I guess, although I do love natural fabrics and style. Just have to be creative about it.

Yes, he is on the witness list.

A uniform is different. A nice suit would even be different. His shirt is neither. To each their own, but if someone I worked with wore the same shirt every single day I'd think that was SUPER weird. If I watched a TV show and the character always wore the same clothing...sorry...weird.
If my neighbor was always in the same shirt, again, really weird.
Mamma, I hear what you're saying but I doubt you wear the same shirt everyday for 3 weeks!!! ya know why? cause it's weird! hehe

Reminded of this scene from The Fly ...
Ronnie: Do you ever change your clothes?
Seth Brundle: What?
Seth Brundle: Your clothes. You're always wearing the same clothes.
Seth Brundle: No, these are clean. I change my clothes every day.
Ronnie: [Veronica looks into his closet and finds five sets of the same suits, ties, shoes and pants] Five sets of exactly the same clothes?
Seth Brundle: Learned it from Einstein. This way I don't have to expend my thought on what I have to wear next, I just grab the next set on the rack.

We are a fashion-conscious consumer society, but not all of us are lock-step. I hear ya, HGO, but...... "bring back uniforms'. Laundered ones that is.:blowkiss:
.

Maui News Now has the latest article up, showing an officer holdimg up the green blanket. Very sad.

SC might have 4 identical, Kmart shirts to wear to court. I really don't care. He always looks the same to me.
